Yeah I've tried sokratis and manolas in separate teams both were very impressive so I needed to try them together in a team and unfortunately the only link is that keeper, tbf keepers are terrible this year imo so I might just see how he goes.

I don't do the chemistry thing or building a specific league/nationality side unless it is a requirement for a trophy. For me, I just want to collect all the cards. Tough task, but I find I can beat enough people with a standard team that I don't need to spend big on 1 player. Tough task I know, but I have a year.

I'm thinking of giving the weekend league a try next week for the first time. What's it like to play in? Does everyone have stupidly powerful teams with Maradona and Pele up top?
Some games are very difficult, some are easy. You’ll inevitably face some who play at a pro level. Just don’t have too high expectations and you’ll probably enjoy it. The rewards are amazing if you can finish with a decent amount of wins. And most people won’t have crazy teams since it’s so early. You’ll probably face good cheap-ish PL players a lot like Michail Antonio or Nathan Ake.
@Lemansky how did you affort that team? Packed someone expensive or opened a lot of packs?

Buying packs is the key.
Although, playing a few matches against the AI, build up your coins (If you have any EA credit things, them bronze coins, buy some coin boosts)
Do the daily challenges, some are simple and can get you 1000 coins. I got 1000 for scoring with a Portuguese player today.
You can build a good team of 80-82 rated players for around 10k. As long as your good enough at the game (I'm so hit and miss at the moment
) that squad can take you through players.Also, stay away from the prem and you'll build better teams for a fraction of the cost

Really good point made above relating to playing the AI. it can be a drag because they start on amateur with 5 min halfs but good way to build early and you can get away with using crappy Bronze & rack up coins through bonuses (goals scored, possesion etc...)

I joined the league that gave the most coins in Div 10 and it was full of Ultimate, Legendary and World Class
1000 x 15 coin boosts from the catalogue. With some semblance of a team you can easily win Div 10 in those 15 games and/or play Squad Battles against the AI and grind enough wins before Monday to get some sort of reward.
Then, use the coins to do some of the SBCs. Early year SBC reward packs are always very good.
Yeah, it's not that difficult to earn coins, just a bit dull.
Buying and selling players to make little profit, do the SBC's like league and nation hybrids which gives packs and a chance to get someone good (i got dybala so its a win right there), play games with the 1000 coin boosts, squad battles, then fut champs. Feels easier then ever to be honest.

I've tried to do that this year, but after winning my first game 3-0, I next faced a fully gold French squad that was basically the French NT followed by an almost incredible Serie A side, then faced a BPL side that was fairly stacked in defence and attack.
It's a shame because it's forced me to buy packs and shit now because it's almost impossible to win against these guys with my bronze/silver team. They shoot 30 yards out and it goes in.
Nevertheless, I got Gabriel Jesus in a pack. He goes for 40k but I feel as if I might keep him for now. Haven't tried him yet but I heard he'd the dogs bollocks.

By December most stacked teams would be in the higher divisions and only people that struggle would be in the lower divisions.
Gabriel Jesus is definitely the dogs bollocks. I'm currently looking to replace Rashford as he's not doing it for me in my 2nd team but got no idea what way to go with it. Got 130k and this is my 2nd team....

If I sold them all what team from a foreign league do you think I could make. I need a striker with good pace and dribbling really as that's the only reason I want to move away from the bpl.
EDIT: Alternative option would be to sell the 2nd side and use fitness cards in WL. But I think I'd only be able to afford 1 or 2 players that would improve it.

Nephew gave me his account with 80k on it. I've turned that into 200k in a few hours, now how do I transfer it under the hood
I've just used and sold on icon Blanc (the CM one). It's my first ever icon/legend as I'm PS4 and he was so overpowered I'm convinced he was boosted it felt like he played 3 stats above what his card said. He scored or assisted in each game he played and that's from a deep position.
I've built a cheaper team now but I'm rocking at the 89 Van Basten for fun up top.

I think it really depends on how much you're gonna get for your team that you sell. Smolov is a good quick striker with good dribbling and he'll be dirt cheap as it's Russian league.
Also, every single Fifa ultimate team, they make rodrigo from Valencia completely OP and it's the same in this one, good cheap Spanish striker with pace and good dribbling. Gameiro would work too.
Gameiro looks decent tbh but everytime I've used him in a draft he's ended up as a sort of support striker to bounce the ball off of. With a better striker getting the chances.
It is my main dilemma this, need some totw to drop sharpish
