Gaming FIFA 18 Ultimate Team

Finished 11-10 for the weekend, busy weekends this month so qualification for the next week is the only aim.

Need to cut out the mistakes as probably should have been 11-7, worst team I faced had Sane, Willian, Salah, Mane, Sanchez, Aguero & Hazard.
 
I was 15-4 on the weekend before last, but had to go socialise as I felt I spent too much time in doors. Haven’t played since, next week though I’m looking to carry on that form (unlikely) hopefully. I realised that I tried to play too direct impulsively sometimes (433 attack was my go to formation for donkeys but the best wingers cost an arm leg and testicle, formation also became a bit irrelevant) and started to just hold the ball, hold the ball and hold the ball literally starve the other dude of possession playing a patient game so even when they get the ball they make mistakes from frustration.

I’ve got good enough midfields for both teams now to play this style, and It’s a better form of defence against the super teams.
 
Played the 40 games and have an exam tomorrow, i am such an idiot :rolleyes: I hate weekends before exams, never manage to do anything.

Anyway, am i the only one who finds Alexis underwhelming in the game? I have his 90 rated card and Son 87, Son is the better player. There is something about Alexis in Fifa that disturbs me, i dont like him at all. His long shots are great, but his dribbling and movement are poor for me. I want to like him but there are cheaper lower rated left wingers who do the business better
 
Played 5 games in friday and then left it.

That's a few weeks in a row now that ive lost all enthusiam for the mode and im delighted about it!

No more unnecessary stress over a poxy game.

Pro clubs is the way forward.
 
I think I’m done with the game. I have 250,000 coins and two teams worth maybe 400k total, gonna keep the teams just incase the urge to play comes back but going to spend all my coins on packs safe in the knowledge I’ll get one 83 rated player at best.

Wait til lunar New year when packs are half price, your coins will go further or knowing pack weight, probably Not!

Edit: guess I was too late. I know how you're feeling, I opened 31 packs at the weekend that I'd accumulated from all the sbc from the past week or two and sb rewards. Best player was Coutinho and a Genk MOTM player card

It’s more than I expected to be honest. I used all my fifa pack luck getting Ronaldo a few years ago before price ranges came in, his basic 92 card sold for 12 million coins. Sold him, price ranges got put in 2 days later and I literally bought the best team possible at the time, most fun I’ve ever had on fifa.

That's a great pull congrats! I've had good pack luck this year without putting money in. Packed TOTW de Bruyne and 88 rated Rio
 
Anyone find that seasons gameplay is a lot different to dkt/wl? I was spamming seasons and was consistently holding d1 a few weeks back and played shit in the wl, then took a beak and came back and have gone 11-4 and 15-4 my last 2 weeks (all i could find time to play) and won each dkt at the first attempt... but now cant buy a win in seasons
 
Prime Larsson, the only card i've really wanted the whole game and his SBC is cheap as feck, should have held on to my coins and sold some players to get him.

Did the Larsson, Desailly and Rijkaard Loans.

feck knows what's changed in seasons but something has. I went 3 seasons unbeaten in div 1, took a break, and I'm now in div 3 after a horrendous few days when I've managed to get on.
 
Got an untradeable KDB from the Lunar pack. Used all my coins in the half price promos (180k) and packed Naingolan and Aubameyang.

So now I am selling my squad plus the Nain, and any other players from packs 82 or above to build this in a 4312

De Gea

Valencia - Bailly - Chiellini - Sandro

Pogba - Kante - Matuidi

KDB

Aubameyang - Jesus

If my liga nos/serie a/eredivisie hybrid sells for ~550k I will be able to afford De Gea and Pogba. Or I'll use Bakayoko for the time being and get an Aguero instead of Jesus
 
Switched KDB and Pogba round, so Pogba plays cam and KDB is in the midfield 3. Sold Chiellini and bought SIF Benatia again, and replaced Jesus with Lukaku, and the difference is night and day. The team is flowing how I planned, and Lukaku's strength is such an asset against all the Boateng/Bailly/Legend defenders
 
Not a favorite mode to play of mine. Played it only to get the fancy trophies. Stop and onwards to manager mode afterwards. Had a squad full of England players last time, for the chemistry and min requirement, until promoted to League/Season 1 or something in FUT. Personally it can be so annoying with all those high frequent disconnecting issue, I just can't enjoy it. I can see the appeal of FUT though.
 
Doing the draft for the first time. Is there a time limit on when I complete my 4 games?

Also, what am I likely gunna win? Guessing just a couple packs?

If you win all 4 games you have a good chance at making more then the coins you put in. If not.... you'll probably make less. Draft rewards are usually trash. But there is no time limit to finish.

Draft was great last year. EA have fecked over the pack weight this year so it's not particularly worth it.
 
Is that 84 Ben Yedder better used as a ST or CAM?

I see lots have changed him to a CAM when I look in the market. Is that because he's good there or because of the lack of decent CAMs?
 
Confused how the winter upgrades work for certain players. Young and lingard got upgrades. But my if young 84 and futmas lingard 82 haven’t changed. Pleased with my now if DDG 92, silva 92 and Fernandinho 86. Also sterling got a +2 but the 86 if only went up +1?

Bit of both, I use him at cam in my Liga team and he does brilliantly with Griezmann and Gameiro up front. A very well rounded cam with good pace for counters.

It works only if the upgrade surpasses or matches your inform. Lingard and Young upgrade didnt surpass the value of their inform, so no upgrade on inform. De Gea's upgrade matches his IF, so therefore all informs got upgrades. Sterling only got +1, since they only upgrade +1 from 86. His 84 got +2, since the upgrades go from a known pattern of 84-86, 86-87 etc...

Ways to improve this team with 600-700k coins?

Not convinced by Griez in centre mid but I got him as an untradeable so feel semi-forced to use him. Quite enjoy the team but may as well spend the coins on a decent improvement or 2. Thinking the wingers primarily.

If I had 600-700k I would be trying to get a bit more saved up I would sell griezzmann and get that KDB CL 93 but difficult with the chemistry of dembele at RF. IF sterling 87 has been good for me costs 300k ish.

Make a second team and put Griezmann as the striker in that maybe? You already have the look of a la liga team from your bench and you can just put Lingard in the midfield 3, then get a premier league winger (Sanchez OTW is only 500k... if he gets one in form, that goes to a 92 rated card so it'll probably be 800k or so). Or get like Mahrez or Sterling for the right wing.

It's inconsistent though. Ederson went from an 83 to 84, and his in form went from 85 to 86. Jesus went from 81 to 83, in form stayed at 84. It's like the whole Salah POTM/in form thing... they just do what they want and they aren't consistent with it.

I think Ederson is because of his OTW, same as Morata. Dont ask me why, but thats something i noticed. I dont know why it doesnt get applied to PTG cards. If Mbappe gets an +1 upgrade on Tuesday i suppose, i expect his special cards to go up by +1, even if the 84 rating doesnt match the 85 of his first IF, just like Ederson.

Yeah true. Also :lol: at Morata getting upgraded when he was too high to begin with:wenger:
Though actually for morata I just noticed his In form went up? That one doesn't make sense at all. 84's go to 86. 85's also go to 86. Why did him jumping from 84 to 85 mean his in form got upgraded to 87?

Thats the question. I dont know, my sneaking suspicion was that the OTW card plays a role. Same as Ederson, from 83 to 84 shouldnt get the IF upgraded from 85 to 86. But both have an OTW card, so i assume a +1 upgrades their OTW card and therefore also the special/IF cards. I dont know why, if it is a mistake or on purpose, but thats something i noticed. It only happened with them 2 though, where this new upgrade needs to match special/IF card to get the special cards upgraded, didnt apply. They are also the only 2 cards so far where this could have happened. I think if it happens with Mbappe too, then there is definitely something to that theory for whichever reason.

Yes, the 86 is 87 and the 87 is 88. But the changes are minimal, it is more like half an upgrade compared to the usual in form upgrades for most players. My 87 Icardi got a nice upgrade though, more than some other players.
 
Anyone know any safe ways of buying coins these days without having the account suspended and your team taken off you?
