What are people planning for their team this week. I should have about 650k but I'm really not a big fan of PL teams. I did get absolutely smashed by someone using the 88 Lukaku, but found out that he's over half a mil.

I'm not doing the WL this weekend but plan to make a prem squad after its done. Hopefully something like this for the starting 11 since I have the Pogba untradable and Alli already:What are people planning for their team this week. Switching to a 4-1-2-1-2 in game with Azpi left back and Valencia right back. Possibly Mane/Walcott for the right wing instead of Willian but that's probably not necessary. If Martial gets an in form then I'll probably change it up slightly, like get Courtois and not De Gea, use a normal left back and Walker at right back to raise some coins for Martials IF. Maybe changing to a 4-3-3 normal for the normal formation and then using MOTM Son up top. Then a good bench to rotate players but not a completely second 11. Something like... Dembele, Herrera, Shaw, Walker, IF Gray, Koscielny, and a right winger to rotate Willian.

Haha but seriously Son is absolutely fecking awesome. He's lighting quick in both acceleration and top speed. I couldn't believe it earlier, I chased the keeper down with Son, he passed it to Shaw at left back and pushed the ball forward to start charging down the wing and Son covered about 50 yards in no time what so ever flew past Shaw and stole the ball of him. It looked like he was bugged to fast forward.
Also I've found he's great at poaching. He's so quick over 5 yards that he constantly gets in front of the centre backs onto any tight through ball to put a toe on the ball and nudge it home.
That's an insane team! But don't consider getting Courtois instead of DDG. De Gea is better. Just made one massive discovery. Was watching Hashtag Tass - the winner of the Paris regionals - talking about some guy there playing 5-2-1-2, and it got me thinking about back in FIFA 12 and FIFA 13 when I was always playing that formation and it worked out extremely well. Especially in FIFA 12 where I managed to exploit pace (game was completely broken) a lot by using center backs like Marvell Wynne who had 99 pace in game coupled with other quick CB's. Defending has always been my strong suit in FIFA and it was very hard to score on me back then because I had so many defenders and they were all so quick.
Anyway I just tried out that formation, scraped together a team with some of my current players and some other players who were in my club. Played one game and it went just as I hoped. Opponent didn't create a single chance and I won the game comfortably. Going to make a 5-2-1-2 team now for future weekend leagues. I have high hopes that I've finally found the key to getting into top 100.

Yeah thats the worry. Idk I've made and changed my idea loads of times. Might even try Pogba as the striker full time, since Alli is really good in midfield, kante is kante and then I can have like Mkhitaryan there, willian at cam and then martial and Pogba up top. He has the stats for it so it might work.

And I've just won 1st division 8-0-0 again. Twice in a row. Remember doing it two times in total in FIFA 16. My current team is beyond perfect. I'm considering playing the upcoming weekend league even though I don't really have time. I can smell top 100

16/18 in first 11 and subs have to be BPL players. So 2 per game either starting or subs.

I literally came to this thread to mention playing Pogba up top. I had him as the CF in a false 9 on draft and he scored 2 in every game. His strength is the key combined with his dribbling and it's impossible to stop him.
I do em all the time. So much more fun than playing through the divisions. I think I've played less than 90 games in the seasons mode and played well over 200 in the drafts.
Weekend league and drafts all the way for me. Also helps understand strengths and weaknesses of formations you wouldn't normally use but will come up against.
Yeah I tried one there, two wins but shit rewards... was okay though.
It plays a bit weird, more like normal Fifa seasons than UT, mixed me up a bit when I went back to UT seasons.

I packed his IF and considered selling but he's been brilliant so I haven't bothered.
Yeah I love it as a game mode I'd be gutted if they ever took it out but doubt they will as people use fifa coins to play it.
I've temporarily turned into some kind of fifa god after making that 5-2-1-2 team. Played a draft earlier today. Won the first game 1-0 (the guy quit after my first goal which came in the 2nd minute!)
Won the 2nd game 8-1, third game 10-0 and the final 4-1. Why don't they quit when they know they're losing???

You people should seriously try out 5-2-1-2! It's similar to your beloved 41212(2) but a lot better imo because the defensive midfielder is a center back instead which automatically makes the team stronger defensively without harming the attack that much because a CDM doesn't really contribute much in attack anyway. Obviously won't work well for people who like to have a lot of possession and play the ball around, but if you're like me and enjoy that direct RB+A/R1+X pass to the attackers then it should work brilliantly.
I used it in my first WL and it worked well, since changing to a different formation I haven't done as well as i did in that first WL. Do you have your wing backs set to always overlap? I did and it gave some good width and helped me to move up the field.
I have been having problems with sluggish slow motion game play. I think my virgin router had a firmware update or something and since then the game has been really bad. Need to get to the bottom of it before next WL.
Not sure, I saw his card for 500/600k last Monday when hype was ridiculous. I'll check in a bit.

Have them set on overlapping yes, but its partially because they have high defensive workrates. Both of them have high/high which is wonderful but they get tired at the end of each game. Hasn't caused me any problems though and I think it helped when I gave them a hawk chem style.
Made a new team for the WL. Finally i can use Willian and Mkh () in the same team due to the work rates being essential for 352. Going to be great, hopefully!

I have Pogba at CAM too, he is really good there and he is good at shielding and holding up the play as you wait for a runner to pass too.
Never bothered with this year's game. First one I didnt buy in years. I was so dissappointed with last year's. Did i miss anything guys?Usually only play career mode
If you only play career mode then I assume you didn't miss anything. Haven't played that game mode for years due to the CPU being completely broken. I think fifa 17 is the best fifa of all time though, but that's mainly because of the competitiveness EA has implemented in the game with weekend league etc in ultimate team.
I've been using 3421 and it's by far my favourite formation in this game. There's so many options going forward and it's also been quite solid defensively for me. I can't use any other formation after this, none compare for me.

well that message must've been a surprise to you!I think I have solved my slow motion sluggish gameplay problem. I forwarded some ports on my virgin superhub and 5 games since then it has been so much better and responsive. It is like a different game, its almost too slippery and responsive. On the instructions about forwarding ports it said I had to assign my xbox to a static IP first but I didn't do that because it couldn't get my head around how to do it, so it might go back to how it was before but at least I know it can be fixed now.
Anyone watching or watched fifa 17 ultimate championship? Its on BT SPORT 2 now.
From the matches ive seen from this regional final , im not overly impressed by these lads. The 4 goals ive seen have been sweaty goals and sloppy passing. The Caf tournament showed more excitement
