Only weakness in that team are the lack of high defensive workrates from Marcelo/Alves, especially Alves who has low defensive workrates but then again you've got Manolas on that side so you should be fine.I've been using 3421 and it's by far my favourite formation in this game. There's so many options going forward and it's also been quite solid defensively for me. I can't use any other formation after this, none compare for me.

got about 150k to play with and struggling to see what I can do with it - can't really afford anyone really good, also wanted to build a Serie A team but just seen how much Dybala and co are so don't think i can quite afford the team i would want.

More inclined to work on the Prem team - outside of Neymar I struggle to see how I could really improve the Brazil team with such little cash. Silva, Luiz, Marcelo aren't big upgrades. Ill be dumping the team soon anyway as much as it's class to play with theres nowhere else to go with it really.
Sanchez in for Martial in the prem team? Would leave enough cash for Toure and Walker. I like Matic but he ends up on the end of so many chanced despite being set to stay back, and his finishing is woeful.

Reading this thread with Ultimate Team everywhere, it seems like I'm the only one who only really plays Career Mode left. My opinion is that the AI is much better this year than it has been in a long time and the overall enjoyment I've had from FIFA 17 has far outweighed how much I enjoyed FIFA 16, and that I think you would probably enjoy the game if you didn't like last years but enjoyed previous FIFAs as it is a huge step back in the correct direction IMO.
Lads i was going to get MOTM Son but looks like he's going up to 300k which may be just too high for me depending on what i get for my weekly prizes.
Has anyone tried Aguero? He's at about 250k so doesn't look like a bad option. Is he worth it?

Ignore Gundogen's stats, he's shite. Super slow and non existent dribbling. Put Coutinho in your Prem team for him. He's super nimble and has a rocket shot. Rooney and Matic already have high defensive work rates so you should be fine.
Naldo and Coutinho with high/med and Alves with high/low all on the same side of the pitch. Your left side is probably going to get smashed on counterattacks.
So really does everyone decent player play with 4-3-2-1? It's so sweaty I can never enjoying playing with or against it.

Everyone I play who uses this formation just plays the same way every time. Unrealistic ping pong football between the 3 attackers. Feels like you are playing against the same guy every time; just some are better at it.
Most decent players who play that formation switch to 41212(2) in game. The formation itself is absolute rubbish, I love playing against it.
I would swap Matic for Kante and Willian for IF Shaqiri.
IF Shaqiri is an absolute beast for me, I've played with Hazard, Sanchez, Mkhitaryan, Willian, Martial but IMO he is the best.
His dribbling and balance are insane and he feels so strong on the ball. He plays really well as a winger, CAM or ST for me.
What's the formation you started using? Plus player instructions if you can, please!
I had him for around a week and dropped him for the SBC Willian.
He is excellent at what he does but isn't versatile enough for me. If you always play on the ground and slip through balls through he's excellent but if you occasionally want to cross or play a bit more direct he becomes useless.
I seriously can't ever see me going away from Sturridge up top. His finishing is mint, lots of power for long range strikes, can win headers, and he's just as quick as most strikers.

The pros with this formation is the 'overload' in defense. What most players (myself included) do too much is to chase the opponent on the ball with the defenders which makes them run out of their position which creates gaps in the defense. With 5 at the back you can allow yourself to be a bit more aggressive (or even careless) in the defending with your centre backs because there are so many other defenders covering the gaps. Also when the wingbacks have high attacking workrates it doesn't 'underload' my attacking options. I often find them out wide when needed which allows me to control the game and put pressure on my opponent when needed.
It's the perfect formation in my eyes with the right players. I think it's better than the 41212 because I feel that a CDM can just as well play in the defense to add extra support there. Wouldn't recommend the formation to people who need to have high possession, because it doesn't provide as many passing options as some other formations. Suits perfectly for direct play though.

Don't blindly believe the effect chemistry styles are supposed to have. Especially pace, I think that's just a big lie. Ahh MOTM Son, what a card. Think he has around 35 goals in 20 games for me. There are faster players and better dribblers but his shooting with both feet is just pure magic. Very similar to Neymar, not sure who I prefer.
Great shout, he plays out of his skin, always bounces my defenders off and scores worldies from outside the box.
I opted for Sanchez and he scored 4 in the first and only game I played with him but hopefully if the rewards are kind to me tomorrow I can get Shaqiri for CAM/RM.

Actually yeah. Bought 2 for 315k at the time of that post, they're at 340k already. Might not be a significant boost but if they get to 400k each then it'll be nice.

Yeah that's a lovely little boost. Fair play then I thought they dropped when the card was actually released much like Jesus did. Before his 82 card he was going for crazy prices. The second the 82 was released he dropped about 100k
Mane Martial and Carrasco all look like immense cards!
I think with Jesus, he scored the 2 goals plus with him being a brand new card everyone wanted to use him. He was at like 580k, and then a few days later dropped to 300 or so. Mane is at 350k right now... might wait until the card goes up to 86 and then sell both. If I sell both at 350k it'll only be like a 40k boost after the tax or whatever. Considering how much the card is boosted though I'm hopeful it'll go up even more.
Edit: Over 360k now.... This is going up pretty quickly
They're released in just over 2 hours so I might hold on to them for another hour and then list them... If I get 380k for each I'll be happy. Just kinda want to maximize profits for both to give me hope to get that Martial!

Think I might hold on to the 2 Mane's for a bit if they don't sell at 375k. Liverpool play leicester at the end of Feb, good chance Mane gets a goal or two and the price shoots up even more. I won't play Fifa the next 2 weeks anyway so I might as well hold on and hope! Plus, it's not like he'll fall below the 315k that I bought him at so I should be safe with that.
