Gaming FIFA 17

They did say in the patch notes that Pro players OVR would drop but stats would still be fine and they would play to that level they were at.

Premier league players are simply too expensive to build an Ultimate team, I've gone for a La Liga set up and I've got a fantastic team. Once you've got the basis of a good team you can build up your coins and get some of the big boys.

I don't know how some people can justify the money they must spend.

I played last night against a guy who had messi Ronaldo and bale upfront

So I downloaded a mandatory update and game seems to be playing much better now. Especially in terms of defending crosses and corners. I'm actually not seeing my defender beaten every time and getting some decent clearing headers.

One thing that's still pissing me off is how quickly your opponent can get on the break with a keeper throw out to forwardswho are often able to bring it down in loads of space or get a free pass off to support. That should be next for a nerf list.

Another way to defend them crosses and corners is to turn off the auto switching. I did it the other day and my results have increased tenfold. If the ball is in the air and you want to switch press lb/l1 and it goes to who you'd expect instead of it just changing you when you didn't want it to.

Seriously improved the game so much for me in a second.

Ok so my game automatically downloaded the update and now the game looks even better with the official branding. Love that.

Even better though, I just played two games in my career and they were f*cking brilliant! Honestly two of the best games I've ever had against the CPU. They attacked with purpose, kept the ball when needed but not for the sake of it, and genuinely carved out chances that didn't feel scripted.

First game was away to West Brom, they went 1 - 0 up with a really clever through ball finished off by Rondon. I managed an equaliser with Rashford diving header after a great run from Mhki on the right.

Second game was at home to Spurs. They went 1 - 0 up and really were threatening and not in a scripted CPU kind of way. They took advantage of my mistakes but also made mistakes themselves, with Alli overhitting a crucial pass at one point but also terrorizing my defence. The whole game got more and more stretched and after I equalised with Rashford. There were so many chances at both ends and I got a second with Mata after a cutback from Shaw steaming forwards. The rest of the match really felt like what you'd see in a big game like that. I was pushing for a third but couldn't put the game to bed and was actually worried they'd get an equaliser. Far cry from the previous games I've played in my career whhere all I had to was score and I knew I'd win. Before that WBA game I hadn't conceded a goal in 15 games.

The CPU was also aggresively pressing me towards the end, which led to gaps but it was cool because they were leaving bits on my players and niggling at them, causing little fouls and stuff. I mentioned in a post the other day the first time the CPU fouled me in my career was November. I was fouled 4 times in the Spurs game.

Remains to be seen if it stays this way but this update seems to have made it so much more fun.

.

I just played a game and the same thing happened. Arsenal through everyone forward, it was ridiculous. They kept Bellerin back as their only player whenever they had the ball in the last 10 or 15 minutes. It looks like it was part of the update

Hit a bit of a rough patch with my form and decided to try a new formation:

De Gea

Valencia Smalling Bailly Shaw

Schneiderlin
Herrera Pogba
Miki Depay
Martial

Yes, the format is fecked! :D

Was pondering for days over what player to get up front for my Serie A team.

I'd saved up about 550k so was between Ole, Larsson, Brian Laudrup, OTW Higuain or Shevchenko (counldn't really afford him as his price has boosted over the past few days).

Ended up going for Larsson with the Hunter card and played a couple of games with him last night. Scored a hat trick in his first game. His finishing is incredible, but I'd assume that is the case for all the ones I've mentioned. The best thing about him is his movement though, always making good diagonal runs in behind the defence which really helps. His big downfall though is his strength, he does get held off the ball by most players when shoulder to shoulder. His height is a problem as well, even with his good Jumping stats (should be better), he just doesn't seem to be dominant in the air.

Will give him more of a run out tonight but really want that Shevchenko - he seems to have everything: Attacking position, Finesse shot, long shot, Pace, Strength, Dribbling, Finishing, shot power, height. Once I get another 20 or 30k, it will almost certainly be between him or Higuain OTW. The issue with the current Higuain IF is that his pace isn't quite there yet, but I'm pretty confident he will get another IF at some stage this season which will boost his pace. He'll probably become the best striker in the game if the Hunter can get him to 98/99 Acceleration.

This has me excited. Been getting bored of it already cause the opposition weren't trying to attack. Career mode will be much more fun if I have challengers.

Sounds good! What's the branding you speak of?

Pogba Ward-Prowse
Griezmann Martial
Rashford

(433 Holding)

Only played 2 games so far, too busy on Deus Ex.

Anyone else struggling with finishing on Pro Clubs a bit?

I was lethal in last years game, but I'm finding it a lot harder to score this year.

Just in general finishing has taken me some time to get used too. Still not as lethal as before though. The low driven shot is meant to be OP though, that might help

How do you do it? Is it double tapping the shoot button?

I've just registered with a company who will give me £80 for 1million fifa coins.
I'm waiting for them to get back to me, takes about an hour apparently.

Anybody want them before I sell to them (Xbox one)

This ddos thing has them down; I'm in the final of the qualification for the weekend league and can't get on:(

If you are position A, dribble in the direction the red arrow (so that you're not facing the left corner of the goal) and shoot to the far corner in the direction of the white arrow. Use a driven low shot (power up a shot and press shoot again just before you hit the ball).

If you are position B, dribble so your player facing the far right corner, as the red arrow shows. Then do the exact same as above, but hold R1/RB while you do it. Basically open up your body and do a driven finesse shot far corner.

I can personally guarantee you will never miss another shot in your entire FIFA career, unless you're shit.

Tried doing The Journey with PSN/EA servers down. Got to the start of the 2nd league game and then left it for a bit. Come back to it and I'm back in the under 11s cup final?! Is this a manual save thing or does it just save with your progress when online, ie pointless doing it when you can't connect to the servers? Nice couple of hours wasted...

Need some help....

Why does it always seem so congested anytime I get the ball in the opponents half?

Why, when out wide is there never anyone remotely close and I'm surrounded by three of the opposition?

How do you get players making more runs off the ball like what seems to happen for everyone else in the world? Whenever I've got the ball im swamped and other teammates are laboriously jogging into position.

Cheers mate for that

By the way the R1 and Triangle through-ball is lethal. Been able to play so many great passes since I started getting used to it.

Aim for the opposite corner, ground breaking.

On FIFA 17 specifically, if you shoot at the right angle with the right shot (drilled low shot), it will basically go in every time. You have to be facing in the right direction for it to work. For example, if you are on the right side of box, so must almost be running 'away' from goal.

It just in my experience means you will finish 95/100 1 on 1's, which I thought would be helpful to know. It's a pretty broken game mechanic if you get it right.

I had the same thing but then realised that it does auto save, when your on the menu for highlight the journey and flick the left or right stick (can't remember which) to the right and it gives you the option to reload your previous progress.

Nice one it's still there thankfully!

I started a career on this. Pogba is fun to have oon your team. Zlatan seems to play like a clown though...Hull away I missed about 4 good chances with him, ended up 2-0 down, then missed a penalty, then he scored when the ball rebounded off a defender and hit him and went in...then he missed another chance. I ended up winning 3-2 in injury time after I took him off for Rashford, who scoed the winner.

Also, my game against Watford has been moved to the Tuesday before I have a Europa League game on the Thursday. WHY does it still do this? Why does it move it at all?

Reached Gold 1 on this weekend league with 3 games spare. Pain in the arse because I had a couple really bullshit losses and a couple of disconnects so feel like a should've been able to have a go at the 30 wins for Elite 3 and a TOTW pack.

I give up on Weekend League, was so much a chore. I got into Gold 1 last week, and you know who I got in the packs? No one at all. I'll stick to SBC investing instead, something I'm good at atleast

Thanks mate. Last year I found the best way to finish in position A was to stay the same way I was facing and finesse into the same corner also. I'll try the power shot method across the goal tonight and see how it does.

I normally do B though, and I've had less success this year than I have in the past with it. Perhaps I need the finesse trait.
