Just updated when I turned it on half an hour ago. Live in Australia, don't know if that makes any difference at all in terms of updates.
My finishing as a striker pre update was 90+ on a finisher now it's 87 across all striker typesThey did say in the patch notes that Pro players OVR would drop but stats would still be fine and they would play to that level they were at.
Premier league players are simply too expensive to build an Ultimate team, I've gone for a La Liga set up and I've got a fantastic team. Once you've got the basis of a good team you can build up your coins and get some of the big boys.
So I downloaded a mandatory update and game seems to be playing much better now. Especially in terms of defending crosses and corners. I'm actually not seeing my defender beaten every time and getting some decent clearing headers.
One thing that's still pissing me off is how quickly your opponent can get on the break with a keeper throw out to forwardswho are often able to bring it down in loads of space or get a free pass off to support. That should be next for a nerf list.
The CPU was also aggresively pressing me towards the end, which led to gaps but it was cool because they were leaving bits on my players and niggling at them, causing little fouls and stuff. I mentioned in a post the other day the first time the CPU fouled me in my career was November. I was fouled 4 times in the Spurs game.
.
Ok so my game automatically downloaded the update and now the game looks even better with the official branding. Love that.
Even better though, I just played two games in my career and they were f*cking brilliant! Honestly two of the best games I've ever had against the CPU. They attacked with purpose, kept the ball when needed but not for the sake of it, and genuinely carved out chances that didn't feel scripted.
First game was away to West Brom, they went 1 - 0 up with a really clever through ball finished off by Rondon. I managed an equaliser with Rashford diving header after a great run from Mhki on the right.
Second game was at home to Spurs. They went 1 - 0 up and really were threatening and not in a scripted CPU kind of way. They took advantage of my mistakes but also made mistakes themselves, with Alli overhitting a crucial pass at one point but also terrorizing my defence. The whole game got more and more stretched and after I equalised with Rashford. There were so many chances at both ends and I got a second with Mata after a cutback from Shaw steaming forwards. The rest of the match really felt like what you'd see in a big game like that. I was pushing for a third but couldn't put the game to bed and was actually worried they'd get an equaliser. Far cry from the previous games I've played in my career whhere all I had to was score and I knew I'd win. Before that WBA game I hadn't conceded a goal in 15 games.

Remains to be seen if it stays this way but this update seems to have made it so much more fun.

It's got the same interface as the real PL now. Same colour scheme, same font, etc... Just adds to the realism.Sounds good! What's the branding you speak of?
looking forward to the update then! My team on career mode:Ok so my game automatically downloaded the update and now the game looks even better with the official branding. Love that.

Anyone else struggling with finishing on Pro Clubs a bit?
I was lethal in last years game, but I'm finding it a lot harder to score this year.
How do you do it? Is it double tapping the shoot button?Just in general finishing has taken me some time to get used too. Still not as lethal as before though. The low driven shot is meant to be OP though, that might help

Free coins? I'll take them, thanks!I've just registered with a company who will give me £80 for 1million fifa coins.
I'm waiting for them to get back to me, takes about an hour apparently.
Anybody want them before I sell to them (Xbox one)

If you are position A, dribble in the direction the red arrow (so that you're not facing the left corner of the goal) and shoot to the far corner in the direction of the white arrow. Use a driven low shot (power up a shot and press shoot again just before you hit the ball).
If you are position B, dribble so your player facing the far right corner, as the red arrow shows. Then do the exact same as above, but hold R1/RB while you do it. Basically open up your body and do a driven finesse shot far corner.
I can personally guarantee you will never miss another shot in your entire FIFA career, unless you're shit.
I thought that was pretty standard for shooting?
Aim for the opposite corner, ground breaking.
I had the same thing but then realised that it does auto save, when your on the menu for highlight the journey and flick the left or right stick (can't remember which) to the right and it gives you the option to reload your previous progress.Tried doing The Journey with PSN/EA servers down. Got to the start of the 2nd league game and then left it for a bit. Come back to it and I'm back in the under 11s cup final?! Is this a manual save thing or does it just save with your progress when online, ie pointless doing it when you can't connect to the servers? Nice couple of hours wasted...
Nice one it's still there thankfully!I had the same thing but then realised that it does auto save, when your on the menu for highlight the journey and flick the left or right stick (can't remember which) to the right and it gives you the option to reload your previous progress.
any diagram/video of you doing this mate ?
On FIFA 17 specifically, if you shoot at the right angle with the right shot (drilled low shot), it will basically go in every time. You have to be facing in the right direction for it to work. For example, if you are on the right side of box, so must almost be running 'away' from goal.
It just in my experience means you will finish 95/100 1 on 1's, which I thought would be helpful to know. It's a pretty broken game mechanic if you get it right.
