Playing with United is a losing battle on this Fifa so far. As soon as I switched to Barca and playing a quick pass and move type game I started winning a lot more games. Which division are you in at the moment?

I was also always in Div 2 or higher on Fifa 16 and am finding this Fifa a lot more difficult.
 
Short passes are under powered. Unless you are playing one touch passing and then they suddenly increase in speed and power. Players are also slow on the ball, they are all like Rooney this season.
 
Input delay is a major issue. Hopefully rectified.

As someone who's into competitive FIFA, I think EA keep altering the base meta in weird ways. Very curious to see what their 1st gameplay update does.

Agree with the input lag, but I think the game has been designed like this intentionally, to make the players feel 'heavier'. If that was EA's intention, then they have over-succeeded. The players are just so unresponsive to button input, especially when attempting any kind of dribble. It's very strange, the ping pong passing is in full flow, yet you can't perform any sort of dribbling without Fellaini-like movement. So far, I'm not sure what to make of this at all. FUT is a disaster; it's the same match over and over again, every player plays, or attempts to play, the same way. The defending is another let down, players are just so inconsistent with interceptions, even when you place the players in the perfect position to cut out the pass. Slide tackling is still OP.
 
IMO the switching players when in defence is broken. When you then try to change player in defence one of the other defenders then steps forward moving out of position. Trying to change to one of the taller players at corners is annoying also. You press R1 and it picks the person nearest to the corner kick taker or the next smallest person. Defending is so annoying.

Wow! What team and formation are you using? My favorite formation has been 4231(2) in the past but I'm not sure about it this year. Feel like 2 striker formations might give me more options, don't know yet.

I think that formation sucks. LM/RM aren't really involved with that formation. You should rather use 4-3-3(4) which is similar but with wingers instead of LM/RM.

Make sure you use chemistry styles and always have 100 chem on your team with 10 on each player as the chemistry styles give you massive boost. A player on hunter will recieve for instance +15 acceleration, +10 sprint speed and +15 finishing if the chemistry is on maximum.

Muriel has a goal average of over 2 for me with around 20-30 games played which is insane.
Fellaini has scored 7 headers in 7 games for me, as I instruct him to move into the box when I'm in a crossing position. I also move him where I want on corners and aim them towards him which has resulted in a few goals.

Teams look good. Relatively cheap players but they all look good to use, looking to get Pjanic as well.

I hate 433 though, always get exposed at the back. I like to double team and press a lot so there's a lot of space for my opponent to exploit with such an attacking oriented formation. 442(2) was the formation I planned to use, thought of using Raffael as one of my striker to sort of play a CAM/Striker Hybrid role with a pure finisher next to him.

I'm not bothering with chemistry styles right now simply because I'm changing teams so much and I don't have enough coins to afford them all. My Bundesliga side with Draxler (who is unreal as always) is working well but sometimes I'm struggling to create chances. Are you on PS4 btw? Would like to give you a game and see where I can improve. :)

But yeah I still need to figure out how to be effective from set pieces. Used to score regular free kick goals with Banega (:drool:) but I can't hit a barn door so far, haven't even scored from a corner. :lol:
 
I'm still not sure if I hate the game or love it. I've realized the players aren't as unresponssive as they look/feel, and they will pull off a lot of stuff that I may think it's not possible. If that makes any sense...

I think I will stick to seasons for now, UT is just too much of a time commitment and not fun at the complete start. I'm using Leceister and my record is 8-6-5, it's quite hard now at launch when the best players are still in lower divisions, I guess I'll eventually be lingering around division 3/4. I'm playing a 4-3-3 with Mahrez in a Di Maria role and it's working quite well.

I've only just been promoted from division 8 :lol:

I never play away from united either lol. Too much sentiment. Just like I always played with The Rock on the wrestling games.

:lol: I'm in division 7 too. The jump from 8 to 7 has been quite a big difference so be prepared. I've gone back to United now as my run with Barca came to a sudden end when I went up to this division.

Sorry mate, I'm on xbox. And yeah I'm also struggling with free kicks. Used to score on most of my free kicks from decent positions in fifa 16, and in FIFA 17 I'm yet to score a single one in 44 games, even with Pjanic

Good to see they've finally listened to my pleas to make the crowd more exciting too. Specially like the whistles after a dodgy shot.
 
So far I've been enjoying this game a lot. I create a lot of chances, however my conversion rate is awful. I'm playing 4-3-3 and Blind in DM is my best player, scores as much as Ibra. Pogba is good, but other than that it's difficult playing United vs Barcas and Dortmunds. Herrera, Mkhitarian and Martial have been pretty shit for me.

I like better the tempo of this game rather than the last one. More difficult to run down the wing past everybody and cross. The shooting is nice too, although it seems 90% of my long range effort end on the bar/post or goes wide by inches.

Aubemayang seems to be the best player in this fifa I've faced.
 
Pogba and Martial are godlike this year.
 
When the United board want the title won, do they sack you if you don't? So if I finish 2nd, I'm gone?

Not a regular fifa player and I can already tell I'm not going to win the league

Bought FIFA and PES this year after being a staunch FIFA player for over ten years.

PES is lightyears ahead of FIFA in terms of gameplay and single player modes to the point where FIFA is completely ruined for me. It feels like a beta, which I guess it sort of does almost every year before the patches. Unless you're on Xbox One and have a problem with the lack of licenses in PES or need to play Pro Clubs or Ultimate Team it should be a no-brainer.
 
This game is unplayable online for me at the moment, game after game It doesn't seem to respond to the buttons I press for a second or 2

I press circle to tackle nothing happens until the player is past me then my player attempts a tackle

I press circle to shoot and instead my players end up taking extra touches then it gets blocked

The button lag is a joke and it's not my internet because other games (including Fifa 16) run very smooth online.

This needs patching until then there's no point in me playing currently.

I agree. The game is pretty awful so far for me.
 
Playing career mode and have set up a scouting network. First Spanish report and I get a regen called Pablo Escobar :lol:.

Looks like the programmers have been having fun this year!
 
Anyone else suffering badly online re lag/delay?

My connection is fine, FIFA 16 is running smoothly, but I've barely played a game on 17' with some kind of latency issue.
 
I don't have any issues with input lag. I even played against some guys from Australia (I'm in the US) and it ran smooth as feck.

This didn't happen to me the first day I bought and played it..my stats were quite good and it was enjoyable, then today everything you describe has happened to me, I played 10 games and didn't score 1 goal..it felt impossible of a sudden.
 
There is always a lag for the first few weeks, people flock to the game in numbers.

I love it, defo an improvement on last years game.
 
It's not your normal lag though where the game will jump or freeze just everything you do happens a second later instead of when you press the button. I've been having the exact same problems that people are talking about but the people I play against seem to have no such problem.

it's button delay which is an entirely different thing. I've done a quick browse on EA forums and it's affecting quite a few people on there too.

It's incredibly frustrating Every single touch, long/short pass, dribble and shot I take I have a delay :mad: my players can't win a header at all or make a tackle unless I Predetermine what my opponents going to do seconds before he does it.

Everything is so slow and unresponsive
 
I feel like people call it delay.

But they just haven't gotten used to new mechanics and are a bit shit.

Do any of you cnuts use twitch to broadcast your online play with this game? Id like to watch you rage when you lose.....anybody?
