Gaming FIFA 17

It's definitely going to be Ibra. Be interesting how many skill stars he gets now that Pogba has 5.
He has 4.

De Gea rated at 90 as well as Ibra. Pogba at 88

How the hell is Courtois at 89 though...

Seems GK are more highly rated this year. Handanovic, Oblak, Buffon, Neuer, Courtois, De Gea, Lloris all in the top 50?

They were too easily beaten from long range shots in FIFA 16 so maybe it's a way to combat that but seems all the ratings have increased this year, some huge jumps for players.

I honestly think de Gea should be higher than Neuer too.

So do I, but it doesn't surprise me he isn't, just look at the media in this country. I can't name one pundit who had said De Gea is better than Neuer, but these same people don't watch any Bundesliga I bet.

Courtois should be around 85, but I do agree with Neuer being 1-2 points higher than De Gea. Either way, I can't wait to play with United. Pogba and Zlatan are going to be amazing, add Martial and Mkhi on the wings and it looks like we'll see United online much more often.

Fecking Busquests. Every year he's really highly rated but he's shite to play with and goes for near enough discard price.

Getting him in a pack is infuriating.

Still not sold on this. I've bought every FIFA since feck knows when, but 16 was such a pile of wank that I don't know if I can justify spending the money.

Can't remember the last time I had enough time to play a computer game.

Kid, grad school, work, wife and the caf. What have I done to myself? I'll console myself with knowing that the last version I bought was 2013, was ok. Played 2015 at a friend's and it was awful.

The pinnacle of human achievement is great isn't it?

Ronaldo rated higher than Messi for the first time after 6 seasons.
Makes sense.

Even when Ronaldo was rated lower he was always the far 'better' player due to his physicality and pace, and the game's reliance on these attributes.

Hence why all the whores online choose Real Madrid and much fewer choose Barcelona.
Yeah they never truly got Messi to feel like 1 of the best players on the game. He was always fairly slow and weak, could easily be bullied by tank defenders.

Based on what exactly? You will never be able to perfectly compare goalkeepers, that's for sure.
So, Neuer being an exceptionel keeper who's won everything makes him a good bet for the "best in the world" spot.
While De Gea archieved nothing in his carreer.
These ratings are subjective and have to be based on something. And nothing suggests that De Gea should be rated higher than Neuer.
I know it's down to de Gea playing in rather shitty teams so far, but that's just how it is. He needs to prove himself at the highest level, before he does that, nobody outside of Manchester will start a discussion about whether he can challenge Neuer.

Winning the Prem and FA Cup is nothing?

Anyway the amount you've won does not directly correlate to how good you are. Jose Bosingwa has won the Champions League twice.

This day in age you usually get your reputation as an elite player by performances in the CL. David De Gea has not had a ton of matches there yet.

If only EA would scrap this FUT nonsense and focus on the normal online mode!

Quite some time ago in regards to the league. And back then, he wasn't really a cornerstone of the team.

For the second paragraph, not what I meant. To gain recognition as one of the best, you need to be one of the best in a team competing for highest honour. I don't doubt he's an amazing keeper. But thats how things are.

He is ridiculously good to dribble with on FIFA 16. Can go past players even without skill moves easily, and his shooting is unbelievable. When I'm playing against people much better than me, I choose Barca because any half-decent shot with Messi always goes in.

I haven't played 16 much as I hated it, so yeah maybe he's better on that. The previous versions though he felt just like an average player to me

When's the demo out for this? I've googled it and about 5 different dates have come up. 9-13th

No chance. Its just too popular and too much of a money earner. I have been guilty of the pack buying addiction in the past. Thankfully I have wised up since.

FUT will always get priority cause there is always mugs who spend a bomb on it.

Yep, I was one of those mugs a few years ago. Must've spent about €100 on packs on Fifa 14 or 15. Never again.

It must make them millions upon millions so it's always going to be the main priority for Fifa every year now.

I played FUT once, think it was FIFA 14? Even ended up buying packs. Mugs game. I hate the whole idea of it.

Can you explain FUT to me

I don't play Fifa at all, my kid does though and he is often looking for credits for ultimate team

He explained it to me as you pick any team you want and play with them

Back when I was playing football games you could do that for free

Basically, every player has their own card. There are also in form cards, team of the week cards etc which are more valuable. These cards cost coins, you get coins by playing games, so you can build your own team of any players you like and create a team with high chemistry (for example, a squad full of Premier League players will have high chemistry). You can buy players directly or buy packs which contain a series of cards, you may get a world class player or you may get a few bang average ones, it's all down to luck. Thing is, it's extremely rare that you really get a great player in these packs, and instead of building up coins to buy packs you can also spend real money as a shortcut, and a huge amount of people seem to be pretty addicted to it.

Question for fifa fans..

I am getting Fifa for the first time in about 15 years. I'm excited for it but it concerned me that someone said in Career mode, the transfer budget resets every season. So in essence, if you sold Ronaldo for £80m on the January deadline day, that money would just disappear by the next transfer window..

Is this accurate? Seems really stupid if so. I was hoping to save up money over a few seasons and then splurge

Yeah I'm pretty sure it does do that. Or you don't get all of it. They've apparently made changes to the financial system in career mode this year though so I guess we'll wait and see, but probably not.
