Gaming FIFA 17

Question for fifa fans..

I am getting Fifa for the first time in about 15 years. I'm excited for it but it concerned me that someone said in Career mode, the transfer budget resets every season. So in essence, if you sold Ronaldo for £80m on the January deadline day, that money would just disappear by the next transfer window..

Is this accurate? Seems really stupid if so. I was hoping to save up money over a few seasons and then splurge
The board keep a large percentage of the cash remaining at the end of the season, not all of it.

It does depend on the team though. Smaller clubs allow you to build your cash from one season to another. But you still don't get to keep all of it.

Thanks for replying

So that hypothetical 80m would still be floating around the club somewhere. The guy made it sound like at the end of every season, the finances are just completely reset depending on where you finished

I used to like of FM selling my star players, promoting youth and then ending up with like 500m to spend in the 3rd Summer. Was hoping I could do something similar on Fifa

I wish you could play 1v1 or 2v2 with and against mates online. They had that option in older versions if I remember correctly. I find it exhaustingly boring to play against randos online.

I skipped Fifa 16. So can you not play online friendlies against friends anymore?

Yes, the budget used to completely reset at the end of the season but as of FIFA 16 they made it so that the remaining budget is carried forward and used to put together the following seasons budget - you will normally lose some of it but keep the majority of the cash.

Or if you don't mind feel that you are cheating slightly, when you get into June you can put 99% of your cash into the wage budget and offer your entire budget as a new contract to someone that you plan on selling in the next window. You will need to get rid of them as a trade deal (as they won't accept a contract with another club if you try to sell them). That's the only way of carrying over your entire budget that I know of.

Looks like our youngsters got some great ratings  That EA deal did wonders for our ratings

Martial Current 82 potential 90
Rashford current 76 potential 88
Shaw current 80 potential 88
Fosu mensah current 71 potential 87 (cdm position as well)
Pereira current 72 potential 85
Januzaj current 76 potential 85

When I start my career mode with United I'll likely have Ibra playing second fiddle to Rashford from the start!

Do you know CBJs? Or people like Chong?

Pre-ordered this tonight from SimplyGames. Don't usually order it this early but they're running a decent deal, pricing it at £39.95 with 5 FUT Draft Token's thrown in!

Ea released a list of most promising youngsters for career mode, basically whoever had over 85 potential and were u21. That was it from united

Yeah just seen it. Rashford rated higher currently than Iheanacho but both set to 88 POT.

Online friendlies. Have you or your mates not discovered that yet?

United will be insane to play with in this, probably the first time since around 2008 that we are actually a good team to use in competitive games. I'll be using us a lot in tournaments with my friends - Zlatan has already been one of the best players in the game, Mkhitaryan is pure fun to play, Pogba is one of the best midfielders in it plus we already had some decent players who got upgrades - Martial and Shaw. Rashford will basically be like a new player and they'll probably make Bailly and Blind properly good (Blind was awesome in 16 too as a playmaking defender). Basically we'll be one of the best teams in the game.

Awful soundtrack, There's not one song I like. I wish they used more songs from popular artists it's not as if they can't afford to.

I always turn the soundtrack off after around two weeks whatever it is. The repetitiveness gets on my nerves.

When is the demo out? I played the pro evo demo last night, seems ok, want to compare before I waste my money on something.

Ey? There's a decent load of big artists in there. You'll never see FIFA with Drake, Kanye and Katy Perry in I'm afraid mate.

I don't want those types of generic pop artists. Indie music is a match made in heaven for a Fifa soundtrack but I'd like to see a little kasabian, oasis, arctic monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, blur etc mixed with a few popular dance tunes etc.

Yeah it'd cost a lot but EA make an absolute fortune, the tracks on madden are always decent. Fifa has been poor for a few years now. I'll just put Spotify on and turn music off anyway so no biggie.

FIFA's had plenty of Kasabian over the years, the rest are probably out of reach for a sports game. I doubt Oasis would ever allow it for starts!

Catfish and the Bottlemen are big now a days, Empire of the Sun, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club are pretty big too. I've heard of a few more.

To me, FIFA has always had up and coming artists with the occasion big song in there. DMAs are a class little band, glad they're in.

Didn't Fifa have Oasis in the past anyway? They've had their fair share of bigger indie artists, though a lot of times it is right before they start getting big like with Imagine Dragons. I'm personally happy they don't have big artists on there with older songs. That's always on the radio and we all know that. Much rather uncover new songs.

I'm not sure, not that I can remember and I think I've had every FIFA since '02! Could've been though, I just know the Gallagher's always take the piss out of supposedly rock n roll bands letting adverts or whatever use their songs. That's why everyone was shocked when John Lewis used a covered version of Half the World Away for one of their Christmas adverts! Maybe FIFA's a bit different.

Yeah I agree, you always notice songs that have been on FIFA cropping up all over he place in the following year too. It's a great platform for up and coming artists.

They had Blur's Song 2 in RTWC98, and that song was massive at the time.
