Apparently there's a glitch so any player that you have an a 2-year loan with an option to buy will reject whatever you offer them.
Great. So one of the best upgrades in this career mode is entirely useless.

Wow, this year's fifa is really, really bad. Passing is horrific and defending is just far too easy.
Ommg guys why don't any of you play MANUAL!! LIKE ME!!! ITS SOOOO EASY. I mean sure its pretty impossible to perfect and you would need to spend hours and hours and hooouuurs of painstakingly infuriating gameplay, losing game after game til it makes you so pissed off that all you can do to is either smash up your games console or tug on your testicles so hard until their on the brink of exploding. All the people complaining about passing,
why don't you guys play FIFA on manual controls?!
This is what happens when you're used to pinging the ball at will due to never having played the game on manual. Not only that, the game seems arcady and unrealistic.
To really get the full FIFA experience, manual is the only way to go! You'll really enjoy FIFA then...

You guys should be like me to get the FULL experience. Only then will you be so enlightened and empowered and testicleless like me!!
So, I'll be getting FIFA 16 tomorrow. Is there any advice that fellow Caftards here can kindly provide to me to get me started off smoothly?
Also, @DatIrishFella, how is the club doing on the defensive end? I'm always available to make your defence a wall again.

Just won division one on seasons, 7 promotions, 0 relegations, 5 championships, 63-18-28.
I'm unreal.
Nice one. What team and set up do you use?
I had my most cruel moment in Division 1. I didn't really deserve to be there but got lucky with opponents in Division 2 and somehow won the league. Got into Division 1 where the level seemed to increase substantially. Came to last game and I needed a win to stay there. In injury time I hit the inside corner of the frame one on one just outside the 6 yard box. Adrian Ramos you donkey.
Cue THREE subsequent fecking demotions and Division 4! Just climbed out this evening and flying again in Division 3 with Everton playing a flat midfield 4-3-3. Had been using Arsenal (same formation) and wasn't doing badly but you get paired with Barcelona 100% of the time and it gets mentally tiring defending against their front 3.
Think the demotions started to rack up as each time you think you'll be too good for the league and play aggressively then get caught out.
Does anyone know if you can change the ball in Seasons mode?
The PL ball does my head in. I can't see it half the time, especially in daylight games!
It was one of the first things I changed in career mode, because you can, but doesn't seem you can in Seasons.
I use the la liga ball it's better i find.
Yeah but can you choose on seasons mode?
It depends on what you want from the CPU. For me, Career Mode has been enjoyable, particularly playing against the CPU. The challenge offered on Legendary level is quite good, I feel, and with teams playing in different ways (not just the team's own tactics, but the style of play is also affected by the quality of players on the pitch), the variety keeps the gameplay fresh. Instead of getting bored of Career Mode, I want to keep playing it, which is a strong plus in my book.Considering getting it now it's gone down in price. Has playing against the CPU improved? It was fecking atrocious on 15. I'm not interested in Ultimate Team at all and not much more interested in any of the other online modes.
Personally, I think this is the worst fifa in a long time, both vs cpu and multiplayer. Every other year I've been through multiple seasons on career, but this time I made it to the end of the first season and have lost interest.Considering getting it now it's gone down in price. Practice dribbling and beating a man using the feint dribbling (L1 I think) and close control (L2 I think). Can't just pace past people anymore.
Best way I've found to play defensively is to be aggressive and press as fast as possible but depends on what you're comfortable with.
Oh and get Lukaku or Remy on ultimate team, both absolute monsters available cheap.
That's due to the default matchmaking settings. It's set to provide some leeway on the quality of teams you can face, so with West Ham, you can theoretically face up low-level 5-star teams like Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, or Man. Utd. and down to mid-level 3-star teams. This is done to get you more matchmaking possibilities.Question re Seasons though - I like playing with 4 or 4.5 star teams so played a couple of games with West Ham (4star). They matched me against a guy who was playing as Manchester United! How is that fair!? Thankfully I managed to scrape a 2-0 win but still... Is this what usually happens? I thought they tried to match similar star teams?

If you want to potentially wait longer for matches, you can set the Club Quality Matching to Restrictive instead in the Seasons matchmaking settings.
You are not the only one with that thought. I, too, find overall ratings to oversimplify the players' abilities, and I even find some of the lower-overall players to perform better just because they are better in certain attributes. For example, ever since Smalling moved Man. Utd., he has been the team's best defender in FIFA for me (even better than Vidic IMO).I still think the overall ratings is naff.
Obviously FIFA's main market is teens/kids, who love the idea of overall ratings, and they now have their money-maker in Ultimate team, which basically relies on it... so it wont ever change. I guess it's tried and tested and they've done it throughout the series. So fair enough.
A shame, though. I think it spoils the game a little bit. Especially with the career mode, where I think it devalues the scouting/signing/training/improvement of players. I feel ratings for each attribute should be enough, personally.

I fully agree with that. However, when I was talking about Smalling, it was his marking that was so good, better than Ferdinand's during that time when Ferdinand was still a good defender. But yeah, strength and speed are still important, even in this current FIFA (Schneiderlin is a beast in midfield solely because of his strength).Strength. Strength and speed are generally always the two most useful assets in FIFA. No matter how they try to fix it, it's inherently going to be the case most of the time. They're aspects of a player which will generally always be the same no matter how good the user is. Yeah, someone might not be good at the game, but if they've got a pacey player, then all they really need to do is be in a position to run. The speed doesn't change depending on how good you are, and neither does a players strength.
By contrast, things like passing/dribbling will often depend on how good the individual player is at the game. A good FIFA player will probably be able to produce better passes with Cattermole than a bad one will with Xavi, because the good player will know how to pick out a good pass. Despite that though, the bad player doesn't need to have any massive skill to utilise speed or strength, because it doesn't change depending on how good you are.
Are you talking about Ultimate Team or FIFA in general? I've noticed this in Ultimate Team, but does this really happen in the regular FIFA game as well? They also artificially inflate some players overall rating using international reputation. Thomas Muller in most attacking positions is only actually an 83/84 rated player but has 86 overall because of his four or five star international rep.
As long as we have our Konami partnership, EA won't ever do anything properly with us.They finally upgraded Martial. After giving him a downgrade from 77 to 76 after his first few games (shocking, I know), they brought him up to 79 and finally fixed his acceleration (think it was 82ish?). Took them long enough. They brought his potential down though apparently to 84. Can't trust EA to do anything properly eh.
Interesting. I'm curious as to what attributes you used to calculate their overalls, or is there something that actually shows what attributes are used to calculate overalls?@mazhar13
Just the normal FIFA like career mode, Falcao is only actually an 81 rated striker and Rooney is 83 but they get higher ratings because of their international reputation.
