Gaming FIFA 16

Had the most annoying game ever. I needed 4 points from the last two games to get promoted to Division 4 so I took Sevilla hoping I would be playing 4.5-star game, only to be paired against PSG who are miles ahead ability wise. The other player wasn't great though so I dominated and quickly got a goal, had plenty of chances to make it 2-0 and then he scored with his only chance of first half, flukey rebound. I was all over him for the entire second half and then he scores with a long range deflected shot. I got a 88th minute penalty - again, saved. I had 17 shots, he had 3. feck my life.

Got a 73 rated 16 year old goalkeeper in my academy and he's already got 81 reflexes. This guy is gonna be a god, the potential has him getting to between 88-94.

I feel like they've increasingly sucked the fun out of FIFA since FIFA 10. Such a dull and boring game to play with your mates.

To establish my point of view: I only play regular online seasons and a bit of Pro Clubs. My '15 record ended up around 240-60-60 (never used R. Madrid, faced them 80% of the time). Not showing off, just sort of pre-arguing that I'm not a noob.

'16 has definitely been rough.

'15 wasn't perfect by any means, but I remember it was very instinctive when I picked it up on the PS4 actually coming from WC14 on the PS3 earlier this year. Basically attacking worked, maybe too much, but it was sharp and you got used to it. Passing with good passers was sharp, dribbling with good dribblers was too. My game was my usual pass-pass-pass, cut insides with a fast winger, get it into dangerous positions, get that final ball be it cross, dribble or pass and score. Breaking down 5 at the back was sometimes hard, but I felt very confident in my ability to keep the ball and eventually score. That has been the same since pretty much '09. Most of any frustration was in defending, or actually not managing to vs. some of the cheesy stuff (C. Ronaldo/Bale pace in 15, headers in 14, lobbed through balls in 13, etc.)

Looking at my record so far in '16 it looks almost on par: 31-11-10. But that doesn't tell the story of how frustrating its been. The attacking sharpness is simply gone. Passing is a mix of short passes too weak, defenders that all read like Sergio Busquets, through balls that are too long, and sometimes a pass aimed at someone completely wrong. Lobbed through balls I just have to convince my brain that they should never ever be attempted, attackers wait for crosses at the edge of the 6-yd box so the keepers always get them, and making a great cut on the dribble (like a perfectly timed Ronaldo chop cutting inside) just means that the defender will almost ignore momentum and be back on you 1 touch later. The number of viable ways to create space and chances has been cut down. I can barely remember how I'm scoring the goals, probably off of opponent mistakes, counter-attacks from corners, and sometimes managing to create an ocean of space with passing.

Overall a bit of the enjoyment is gone. I haven't recorded a single goal or build-up play of mine yet, and with '15 I had recorded 5 within the first week or so of play. What I feel worse about is the crossing, dribbling and smart through balls being cut down so much, and as a result there's little diversity in how to score.

This year's installment is IMO the best since World Cup 2010. I've had tonnes of fun so far.

@Sarni - I've been playing with my housemate for weeks and we'd basically always draw in normal time, I switch to that Everton team with wing-backs you suggested and, hey presto, 5-0.

:D

They're amazing, aren't they? Coleman and Baines are basically the best players in this game, perfect balance between both wings, both exceptional offensively and very solid defensively.

City are also insane for playing online, they are miles better than Bayern, Real Madrid or Barcelona and sometimes you even get to play against Dortmund or Arsenal and this almost always results in battering. To have front 4 of De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling and Aguero with two midfield powers like Fernandinho and Toure is just unfair. I have strategy of playing with one team until I lose a game and I'm currently on a 5-game run playing City. I don't really care they are our rivals in a video game, this'd be silly.

Got promoted to division 4  West Ham are a treat if you're using 4-2-2-2, Payet and Lanzini behind Sakho and Valencia is so much pace and trickery and impossible to deal with really, while Song and Kouyate are tremendous at retaining the ball. Lovely team. Generally speaking Premier League sides are the best to play in this game - pretty much all of them have something unique and offer threat, I think only Villa, Bournemouth and Sunderland I have found useless so far. Everyone else I've had a lot of joy with - Everton, Arsenal, City, Spurs, Southampton, West Brom, Palace and West Ham, also United aren't bad unless you're paired against a genuine 5-star team like Barcelona or Bayern, in which case you may as well give up.

Bought Eric Dier for £6m in August, Madrid bid £5m in January, I jokingly asked for £25m and they accepted

Ridiculous, especially as he had only played a few games and hadn't played that well

Played on Seasons for the first time in a while today (Division 5) and bloody hell I struggled. Don't remember ever struggling this much in Div 5 ffs. Coming to the point where I might have to choose Wales, ultra-defensive and go 5-4-Bale.
The soundtrack is excellent this year.

Best since Fifa 12
I thought it's the worst in a while, only maybe two songs I don't skip.

This is worst fecking fifa in years, swear to God. I can't even force myself to play online when I'm fecking fed up with shit career mode which gets unplayable 90% of the time at world class. When scripting kicks in good luck getting ball off the AI, shit teams get roughly 90+% passing accuracy and boss possession while your players are either all turning into Rooneys with their first touches or they can't be bothered to move forward even with all out attack set on and they all stand like dickwads in midfield.

It's ridiculously shit. I know that I'd be even more angry with any online mode so feck this shit.

Thanks! Is this legit though?
Yeah, I've used it plenty of times, they just use other suppliers to get a cheaper price. I managed to get Fallout 4 from the Game Collection yesterday for £34.85 using this.

They also used to manage the Barclay's 'Beat My Price' system until a few weeks ago when it closed.

EDIT: Here's the TrustPilot link too.

I got the 34 pounds offer but it says Pre Order. Why is it a pre order?

Bought it for 34. Thank you so much! It's a lot cheaper than Argos/PC World etc

First game in a couple weeks and already raging, wiped out by his last man, no card, get a corner from the FK and his keeper catches it and throws it, I had one fecking defender back and he missed his header and he scored a wank goal.

I pepper his goal, his keeper was outstanding, I managed to get one back and it ended 1-1. fecking shit game.

So, the mutual quit feature, I only discovered it earlier in seasons mode online. Tried to use it 30 seconds into a really laggy game, and I assumed my opponent accepted.

When I got back to main menu it had awarded me a loss? Anyone know how it works and why it did that? I thought it would null the game award nothing to either player.

Currently in division 3 on ps3 online.

I use the Man Utd default formation with Memphis on the left and Mata in the right with Martial uo front and Rooney as no. 10.

As I've played more I've learned to score more from crosses. Basically nobody is touching your cross unless you really whip it in with pace.

Keeping possession is key. Slowing the game down works during frantic matches.

I can't defend corners to save my life. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have to rely on the other player missing or DDG bailing me out.

This game has a severe penalties problem plus the keeper never saves anything cleanly. Rubbish game.

Alright, I'm reading too many complaints in this thread. Are there any bright sides to this game to balance this thread out?

Nope, you can have an easy 5 yard pass just go right past the player, crossing is massively hit and miss, pace is stupid per mertasaker can catch up with the fastest players in the game going full speed, there is just something off about it maybe it's the tempo being quite slow, only thing I really play it for now is clubs and that's because we get to take the piss out of each other.

Penalties seem very soft in this game. In one day with 7/8 games I get around 2/3 and give away the same number, very often for the computer running against one of my players and falling down. Starting to get really tired from it.

The latest update has made this game even more fecked. It's impossible to play football at all now offline (no idea what online is like), the slider settings that made the game playable before have been completely nullified and it's just impossible to score goals or even win the possession battle. Even playing on manual is now pointless because whatever you do regards shooting is irrelevant because it goes straight at the goalkeeper who just catches it. Total fecking bollocks EA.

Yep, the new update has made it feel really weird. The game is playing super quick and worse than ever in terms of getting the ball from the opponent on the higher levels of difficulty.

They've removed sliders or lessened their impact?

They've lessened the impact.

By the time I put together settings to make the game actually feel playable it suddenly become far too easy. Seems like there is t even a happy medium now. Brilliant job.

Been playing a career mode with Sheffield United. Won League 1 in my first season and then won the FA Cup and came 3rd in the Championship in my second season but gained promotion via the play-offs. An annoying thing happened though with players who were on loan with an option to buy. It gives you the choice to buy them before you're promoted to the PL, so the players obviously were programmed to believe i was still in the Championship and hadn't been promoted so they all rejected my offers. I wanted to try and keep a similar squad though so i ended up having to buy them all for a little bit extra than the loan fee i had agreed for them all which was annoying.

I bought a bloke called Driussi in my first season and he's been fantastic so far. Odd as he has poor finishing and isn't that great attribute wise but he has been my top scorer in both seasons so far. Other good players have been Gaudino (Bayern), Galloway (Everton), Gray (Birmingham) and a couple of regens that i've signed. Also brought in a young keeper from St Etienne who grows very quickly, not a regen but can't remember his name.

Is it only me who thinks the game decides when you win, there was a game where I had twenty attempts on goal and everything I hit was save or hit the bar/post. Not only that I could do nothing but give the ball away for counter attacks.

I just feel like quitting when it's clear it won't allow you to win.

Na that's loser talk.

If your finishing is good you'd score from 3 shots on target. Unless your shooting from everywhere.

Apparently there's a glitch so any player that you have an a 2-year loan with an option to buy will reject whatever you offer them.
