Played the trial today. I still find it a bit confusing and the menu navigation is quite poor. I played 5 and won 5. I can see the contract thing becoming quite annoying, surely you end up spending a crap load of coins just on contracts every 10 games or so.
Once you have bought a few packs you'll have contracts coming out of your ears.
Isnt it much easier to buy things by using trade though? Either spend 5k on a gold pack and risk some duds and maybe 1 or 2 good ones or get 4 or 5 top notch players.....
Depends what you're after and how lucky you are. I'm still buying packs with the hope of hitting the jackpot with someone big. I've a team of all spanish with ratings between 76 and 81 but no big players but can win without the need to save for one so just getting packs hoping to hit the jackpot.

Just beat a scouser online 4 - 1, was so satisfying 
He was one of those who does skills and runs at you straight from the kick-off, always passing between Torres and Gerrard which despite being incredibly shit and dull is very hard to contain sometimes, he was actually very good but you could tell he was cocky. I stuck with it and took the lead with Rooney, then scored a second with Rio from a corner. Then he pulled one back and did the 'sshhh' celebration
I then went up the other end and scored a backheel with Rooney, and then a fourth with Berba. Very satisfying, he quit on 89 minutes too.

I managed to get some excellent cards (Ronaldinho, Villa etc)
sold them for silly money, and extra gold players to boot, which i then put up for auction making even more money

I decided to close the ports I've had open since I bought the game and things seemed a lot smoother. Loaded up an online game of Ultimate Team, was alright, a bit laggy first half but apart from that it was fine. Second half a wave of uber-lag decides to crash teh party and the match becomes shit, I'm winning 4 - 2 but it's nearly unplayable. Then the game suddenly ends 'You have been disconnected as you were not controlling your player' What? feck off you piece of shit...
I've just logged back in and they've made my DNF higher and given me my 3rd loss. 2 of which now have been during me winning and the game acting like a cnut. Utter, utter shitty, incompetent people doing jack shit about this problem as well. Wonderful.

Is there an actually difference between the regular gold pack and the premium one?

Have you actually tested it? Who's it with? Don't just take your provider's word for it. Advertised speed and actual speed can differ greatly.
Wat router are you using, Sol? Some people are having problems with specific routers. The problem went away the second they got a new one.
It's your connection ffs; the 'You have been disconnected as you were not controlling your player' thing has happened to me once but I forgot to turn off the astronomical number of torrents I had on the PC

And don't buy packs, they aren't worth it. Splurge it all on a player or two.

If you quit a tournament game does it not count? I was playing a game and winning 2-0 and the little bitch quit in the last minute and I didn't get through to the next round. I had to play another game to get through.

Yup, same thing happened to me in the first one. Thankfully I won the 2nd semi and then the final. You'd think people would realise that quitting loses them their coins, their DNF modifier and the game, as opposed to just losing the game if they stay and lose. Barking.
I've just gone to get onto the ultimate team page and it keeps getting stuck on the loading part. Is anyone else having this trouble and if so how do you fix it?
