Fernando has a very limited range of speciality. "Well-rounded" is not a term I would use to describe him at all.

He'll do ok when they switch to a midfield three. He is marginally better than Javi Garcia in my opinion. That's the highest praise I can give him. I was never interested in United signing him.

Assuming Toure stays, and he isn't a replacement then it's a good deal all round.

Marginally better than Javi Garcia is spot on. Faster, cleaner and with a better reading of the defensive game. Offensively or in terms of possession he offers just as little, perhaps even less as Garcia knocks a header every now and again and packs a better shot.
