2 players. We're noway near the current level of City. How can you argue otherwise?
If we wanted to match City man for man we'd need a new centre back, a left back and two midfielders.2 players.
I'm not even wasting my time on an argument so I'm not arguing otherwise. The point is that all this forum seems to be nowadays is everybody praising every other team and completely shitting on our own team like we're some pub side. City aren't fecking superior, you're acting like they're some mixture of classic Barca and current Bayern while we're Scunthorpe. City have been better than us this season, forgetting to take into account the massive changes we're currently going through which has basically unsettled the entire squad. They're performing better, they aren't a far superior team.
City are better than us, but I'll be fecked if they're superior! Don't you know!?
If we wanted to match City man for man we'd need 2 new centre backs, a left back, a right-back, three central midfielders & a Striker - all world-class acquisitions too.
Aaaaah well glad we cleared that up
And if he doesn't manage to break into the team, he'll still make a feck load of money anyway. They're a far superior team and pay more money, it's a non brainer in fairness. These player's have enough confidence in themselves to think they can break into a team that's signing them.
Well, one person is.Are there people really arguing that City (13 points clear and 30 more goals scored) aren't 'superior' to us.
Jesus man, you's fellas seem to be gettin Draxler & Vucinic in this window - thats great business & a great sign of intent. Fair play if they come off mate. Sick of hearing good players cant be acquired in this window - fecking nonsense!
Fingers crossed really....
Vucinic is good short term option, but the injuries are piling up so we need to bring players in.
I would love it if we signed Draxler, but realistically it would be hard to do as Schalke are fighting for top 4 and are still in the CL I believe so I don't see why they would want to sell really... I would be living life if we did sign him though.
Moutinho is a great player. I don't know why people still debate this. Always one of the bright spots for Portugal, and usually one of the best performers for Porto. Monaco is kind of a mess, and JOão is having a hard time there. But in my opinion would be brilliant for us.A 27 year old at his peak is too old?
I reckon there might be better players about, but I've always sold Moutinho here and he'd improve your midfield massively, that's about it. Surely will be too expensive, but then again I don't know what's going on at Monaco and what are their plans for the future. I wouldn't be overly surprised if it all falls down like a deck of cards relatively soon.
Fixed. Is there a person really arguing that City (13 points clear and 30 more goals scored) aren't 'superior' to us.
Crap......I am friends with Fernando's sister in Brazil so if he ends up at City I will be extremely pissed off....City absolutely don't need Fernanado when they already have Fernandinho
What sort of player is he? I know he's a defensive midfielder, so say Toure leaves, are they really going to play with two defensive minded midfielders? That would be a negative approach to games. If Toure stays that'd either mean they are going to switch to a three man midfield or one of Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and Fernando will be a bench warmer.
No links that I can see, but Sky are reporting it and apparently Porto reported it to the Portuguese Stock Exchange.Link?
Shame - we could still do with a destroyer
I was going to suggest the same thing when I made the post, but I didn't wasn't 100% if Fernandinho was truly a box-to-box midfielder, because he's played a very defensive role this season. But if that's the case, do you think Fernandinho will be able to influence the team more if he is given the freedom to push further up the pitch?Fernandinho's box-to-box and with more freedom could definitely be more influential, I think. It just gives them the option of playing a midfield three that can actually compete to at least a decent level against elite sides. Toure in a midfield two was just a disaster against the very best.

Haha, perhaps they will get games at centreback.I'm sure Rodwell and Garcia will have fun playing the odd Carling Cup game.
YupFernando as the anchor man with both Fernandinho and Toure as box-to-box is a scary thought.
More like technically limited midfield destroyers, in the case of Fernando and Javi Garcia. Are they collecting well-rounded midfield power houses?
Maybe. But they're pretty thin squad depth wise.If we wanted to match City man for man we'd need a new centre back, a left back and two midfielders.
