Fergie is losing his mind

Did he unleash a wave of obscenities at the media then as well?

Or is it fair to say that this recent shameful affair is something of a one off?

The media has been very critical for Fergie's decision this year. Normally that's no problem for critize but if it came to the point that media made up a false story to try to unsettle our team, that's just unforgivable. So I can understand why Fergie is so angry about it. If he didn't deny the false report quickly and strongly, it will lower team's moral or even false unsettlement may become real.

But one things seems very clear now: Veron will definitely remain in the team next season. Now seems the right time for United fans to stop any endless discussion about Veron's future.

I just posted this in the general forum (of all places) so i might as well cut and paste it here too....

It's about time somebody told the press to feck off in no uncertain terms, bunch of lying immoral wankers the lot of them. Fergie is spot on, the media is a scourge on society - burn em, burn em all I say!!! ;)

I can fully understand Fergie losing his rag with them, the rubbish about Veron has gone on all season and they are now producing complete and utter fiction. That walk out story was the last straw, a complete lie. If the press use the power and responsibility they have been given without respect or decency to the truth, then they are a bunch of "fecking idiots" and can feck off as far as I'm concerned!

So it's the fact that he swore that you're focusing on now?

I wouldn't know, but I'm very sure he's told journalist to feck off before.

Funny thing is, it's the Scousers that are talking about it. I would have thought they would have agreed more than anyone that the press are twats..

All the manager's of top clubs have to deal with speculation re their players moving on/being targets for other clubs/scandals etc etc etc...

As far as I know "He's a fecking great player" isn't often used as an answer?

Perhaps the pressure's getting to him...

Good news about Veron tho... ;)

All managers have their own ways

As far as I'm aware not many managers keep saying his players were 'magnificent' after every single game. ;)

Its the change of subject again...

So he's not prone to such outbursts to the media..

Its the pressure I reckon..

Thats why he's swearing and screaming like an old bag lady...

Probably his way to get it out, not let the pressure build up inside him

Has worked well throughout his career - in which he has won more trophies than any other managers in England ;)

The press deserved what?

Do you think he's taught the press a lesson?

All he's done is given them ammunition to fire straight back at him, which they will do...

They'll portray him as mad man..

Which will be even easier to do now..

In many ways this situation with fergie and the press is like what is going on in the general forum with the Rod/Nate thing. The same old crap keeps coming up all day, every day so it's understandable that people like Davo, Dans, JSV and co. lose their rag with it eventually and the offenders deserve to be told what's what! ;)

Do you think if he continues to make big money signings that don't work/fail to win anything, these 5 year old like rants will continue?

In all seriousness, given what happened to our boss/recent findings re the stress of management etc..

It can't be good for him to get so wound up by something like this, something away from the more obvious pressures of match day

Continue? If you bother to look, Sir Alex' record with big money signings is very good.

No team can expect to win silverware EVERY season - I'm sure Sir Alex is as aware of that as anyone else.

I think Sir Alex track record as a manager is fairly good, don't you?

Thats not nothing to so with the current situation tho has it?

28 million wasted on a White Elephant..

No trophies barring a miracle..

Hence the stress which has caused him to act like a fool..

A similar ratio as Demento's odds of winning an award for services to the press association..

feckin nutter that he is..

The latest from Peter Kenyon.....ooooh, the press have got him mad too!!

"We are going to look at other ways now of addressing this problem because it has gone on for too long and is undermining everybody, not just Seba, but the team as a whole. That is not acceptable" Kenyon told the Manchester Evening News today.

"We will keep our powder dry on our plans but inaccurate stories of the nature we read at the weekend have just got to be stopped because there is nothing further from the truth."

"There is nothing to indicate Juan Veron won't be a Manchester United player next season, either from the club or from the player."

"We are not going to stand for it any more. These stories are just wildly inaccurate. You have to believe there are concerted efforts by people outside of United to unsettle Juan Veron and it is unsettling. Nobody needs that."

"Seba is a world class player. He has demonstrated that to us on occasions. I have no doubt he will be one of the main players coming out of the World Cup. He is absolute quality."

"What is undermining is the continual focus on him wanting to go and not being happy. Nothing could be further from the truth. He's had reassurances from everybody that this is not a Manchester United issue. This is starting somewhere else. We have, and will continue, to reassure him about his future here from a club point of view."

F*ck the press and you can quote me on that :)

Well done Mr Kenyon

You put your point across without resorting to gutter language...

It looks like Veron's off then eh?

;)

Do you think the press that made up pure lie will dare to fire back?

It's a right time for Fergie to be hard. This time the press said Veron burst up with the majority of the team, if we stay silent next time they may just say that Veron try to murder Keano but unsuccessful!

As I have said. People can critize us, but telling complete lie is unforgivable.

"Seba is a world class player. He has demonstrated that to us on occasions"

If this is a direct quote then it says a lot - only on occasions, not often and certainly not consistently. Unless this is just a first season settling problem, our next season is buggered too. The problem will continue to be, how to fit 5 into 4 places, and what is Veron's best position and needed formation. I think though that we're trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, if indeed there ever was a hole in the first place.

Of course they will!

This stuff happens all the time, why is this case any different. Papers always make stuff up, or print rumours from their sources that don't turn out as they say.

after all these years surely Ferguson knows this? it's never going to change. Take a peek at the papers today and you'll see how they nearly all have made hay on Ferguson's outburst saying Wengers has won the war of wills/Fergies lost the plot etc

I very much doubt that he's a popular man amongst the press and thus they will be loving every minute of this, milking it for all it's worth.

You have your point, and I also agree with it... but... it seems you'd better open another thread, rather than following up in this thread which seems have become concentrated on discussing Fergie's reaction to the media....

I was just reflecting on the quote. The quote also says that it has been unsettling, and that Veron has needed reassurances from the club that its not coming from them. Suppose that the players haven't all blamed Veron (which would be unlike them), then its understandable that Veron would be getting a bit paranoid by now, and the whole squad unsettled by this. Its not the first story suggesting this sort of bust up, there was the 'Keano had him by the throat' stories not long ago. While the saying is 'There's no smoke without fire', with the tabloids it is often them that is the fire. Alex and the club should know this, and take it in its stride, and normally they would, so I think that the effect of these stories must be quite severe. Either the press are causing Veron to seriously consider leaving and the club/SAF are worried about this, or, team morale is being heavily dented by the accusations. None of which bodes well for tomorrow night's game.

Soccernet quote the vice-president from the LMA as saying 'it appears Lazio have been engaged in some kind of subtle campaign to try and tempt Veron back' and that this is what has led to the outburst. Its probably one of many reasons. What worries me is that SAF seems to think Veron has been great this season, when he clearly and visibly has had a poor season. I guess its because he hopes for better next season and is trying to boost his confidence.

Yeah I was trying to sleep but his "quiet triumphalism" woke me up... ...

I bet Wenger's laughing his head off....
-------------------------------------------

Does he ever laugh? I've never seen or heard the borin' old fart laugh. Never heard him change his normal flat tone!

Losing it:
1. 'I'd love it! I'd really love it!'
2. 'You are a team on the verge of greatness!'
3. 'We are about to dominate for the next 10 yrs.'

Can't really see where 'you're a bunch of feckin' idiots'(to the press re. Veron ) fits in with the above!

Well it looks like the fxcking Arse are going to win one trophy this year, and if they win the league as well good luck to them.

You can`t get away from the fact.Utd have to concentrate on the League next year and the F.A Cup and treat the CL as extras.

Sorry but i think UTD could win both hands down if they took them competitions seriously.

Plus Veron is class and will shine trhough next year.
