Fergie is losing his mind

This is true. His jealousy has got the better of him. ;)

I can see why people believe the tabloid press, who have such a reputation for truth, and for never fabricating a story, or exaggerating.

Are they fabricating Demento's quotes?

I have no idea.

Maybe. Maybe not. I wouldn't say categorically yes. There are times, it has to be said, when I find Fergie's public personal a tad embarrassing.

But it seems people who knock the tabloids when it suits them, also latch on to tabloid trash when it suits them.

So do I

Gives the papers something to write about

And you can talk about your pet subject, Manchester United ;)

He is embarrassing, I agree.

Tabloid trash?

He went mental at a press conference...

Why are you blaming the tabloids??

My mistake. I thought it was just the Daily Mirror.

I haven't seen the incident, so I don't know what the questions were, or how it was handled.

As I already said, Fergie can be embarrassing. He also has a temper, which might be better vented in private. Plenty of times I've cringed about things he has said in public.

I'd say it was handled very, very well...

;)

Fergie is a very emotional man. Not a bad thing. He doesn't seem to care what other people think.

I respect him a lot for what he's achieved. There are times when I like him a lot - he can often come across as a really nice man. I don't like the side I see when he's angry. It doesn't always put the club in a good light.

Livvie, he's off the old school of managers, and they were not 'designed' to be under such a media scrutiny that we see today. If the media spotlight had been the same 20, 30, 40 years ago, the public opinion on great men and managers like Busby, Shankly, Stein etc would most probably have been different than it is.

Sir Alex is a great man, who loves his football and our club and what we see is what is.

AEBM is right.

These outbursts come from passion. The passion is good, the outbursts may not be - but that's the way it is.

It was the same with Keegan. Everyone took the mickey out of him after what happened, and understandably - but it was only because he cared a lot.

The great thing with it is that he manages to transfer this passion into his teams and players.

Someone once said that a team is the mirror image of their manager, and you can certainly see that in the Man United team.

Long may his outbursts continue, they've stood us good for more than a decade now ;)

I wish his public image could be seen as a bit more honest tho.

His public image will be seen the way the press decides it. And in this country the press will always try to knock someone who's successful, that's what sells.

If you met the man, you'd find that he is a straight forward, honest guy, who treats you well and with respect if you treat him the same way. He's held in high regards among fellow managers, not only in England, but around Europe as well.

Not at all, if anyone can handle the pressure, Sir Alex can. He's had similar outbursts and worse since the start of his managerial career.

Can't remember a recent one as bad as this..

Is it a coincidence that it has occured at a time when failure looks to be on the horizon, after he's just spent a fortune...

And been "outfoxed" by Wenger in the mind game stakes..

Could this be the reason for his mad man rantings?

I thought the outburst was aimed at the journos and not at Wenger..?

Does it matter who it was aimed at?

I'm talking about the reasons behind his girly outburst....

Probably pissed off with what he saw as blatant lies from the media?

The media don't seem to have such a powerful affect on him when you're doing well!

It seems the pressure of losing is linked with him losing it...

No? That must be why he refused to speak to the media for a year last season

Selective memory Davo..

What are you laughing at now?

He refused to speak to them at first this year as well didn't he?

I wonder why?

Perhaps its because he knew he couldn't handle them without keeping his cool...

Due to the fact that he's as mad as a cut snake..

Or because he thinks they are a bunch of hypocrites?

Sir Alex done well for a mad man though

At least he doesn't come out with things like: "Our 10 games to glory" and "The players are my heroes" ;)

Ahhhh

Here come the predictable change of subject..

I'll take that to mean that you agree with me that Demento is going around the bend, and thus your need to talk about something else..

"He's a feckin great player"

@ fergie, what a clown. I hope they've got this recorded on tv. ;) how embarrassing.....

A constructed defense to well placed criticism of his £28,000,000 man?

Nah

swearing, denial & insults

Mr popular does it again......

Would maybe have been better for the man and the club if he had kept his temper in check. But as already pointed out, he was responding more to the stories being touted around about dressing-room rows etc. and not Veron's ability or lack of, and was angry about the way the Press print whatever they want regardless of truth.

Pressure can lead to a short temper and a failure to control oneself..

Apparantly..

Thats why I reckon he lost the plot and behaved in such a childish manner..

;)

As I said before, he's had outbursts like this throughout his career

He's done rather well though

In fact better than anyone else in the English game - ever ;)

When was the last time he had an outburst in the public eye where he swore his head off and ended up looking like a park vagrant?

Not including this latest embarrassment, of course..

;)

He lost his temper last end of last season over the contract negotiation

He lost his temper beginning of the season over Beckham
