Fellaini to West Ham?

He’s not had a good game v Everton since he left, but would only raise his game v United? Caf logic.
Not that he would raise his game, more that in the past we have struggled against big lump attackers, which some lower Premier League teams might look to use Fellaini as, with Moyes being the obvious example.

After what Moyes said about him and used him as a scapegoat of his failure at United, I doubt Fellaini wants to play for Moyes again now.

To be fair buddy I didn't exactly ask the question in such a flat matter.
The achievements were in correlation with my exasperation at the wording of the piece.
The challenge at Utd aren't league cups etc, the challenge is to overhaul City and to become a force in CL.
There is no bigger challenge in football at the minute. Either he leaves Utd to challenge for major honours which is our aim anyway or he joins a smaller club to compete for the cups he's already won.
Neither scenario validates a move for a new challenge imo.

To be fair, I don't think we miss him in recent games.
I actually think his absence played a big part in that run of games where we couldn't really control the midfield. Not against City who probably would have run rings around him, but the lower sides. His work off the ball would have helped with that, as would his ability to cause havoc whenever the ball was in the air.

It's a bit sad that I do feel that that was the case, as (despite the fact I do like him) we should easily be able to cover him. But with Herrera out of form Fellaini was easily our third best midfielder before he got injured. Herrera has been showing signs of getting going again though, so hopefully that was just a blip.

Maybe he is realistic and understands that he can't be a key part of the project that will overcome this City — while he can possibly become an important player in a struggling West Ham side.

Please let this happen. Cannot wait to see the back of him. He for me, and I should mention because of no fault of his, is the glaring symbol of our massive decline since Sir Alex left. His mediocrity as a footballer represents everything that United has been these last 5 seasons.

Lets be honest, we'll continue the trend without him.

One can hope. The ones we have been linked to are a huge improvement on him. Even our Pereira is possibly an upgrade. Though if we see McTominay in the midfield again, you'll be correct.

No, Hererra should always start ahead of him as plan A, and it is great to have Fellaini as plan B. Also, the last two games Herrera was in top form, especially in a 4-3-3 formation. If you can't see that then there is nothing much to discuss.

City signing Sanchez and we are begging Fellaini to stay.

How the mighty have fallen...sadly!!

Neil Custis says Fellaini has turned down a new deal to stay and has told Mourinho he wants to leave for a new challenge. Mourinho will use time at this week’s warm weather training base in Dubai to convince him to stay. But as things stand, Fellaini wants to move on to a new club.

 Those Moyes quotes.

No chance that West Ham can afford his wage demands. He's off to Turkey or probably China for sure I think.

You asked what he's achieved with us. I gave you your answer. He's achieved much more than most. If he feels he wants to go elsewhere, somewhere that he's maybe actually appreciated then more power to him. Been treated like shit by his own fans for no good reason. Owes the club nothing in my opinion.
I totally agree with this.

We've done very well without him being avaliable for quite a few months now. Whilst I like him as a player but if he wants to leave, then it'll not be a great blow.

He's a great option to have in the squad and had some very good games under LVG and Jose. Blow if he leaves albeit it will force us to adapt a different style one that will please a lot of people

As he has announced already he's retiring from the Belgian NT, I can see him going to China. He doesn't feel he has anything to prove.

He's had an excellent career, with his limitations as a player.

How do we get this one over the line lads? Bombard Moyes with tweets. Get o n the blower to the owners? Hope it goes through and he goes there to blow their bubbles

He's a good plan B but a liability as a centre midfielder in any defensive capacity. As much as I like his attitude I can't help but associate him with the Moyes era and if it means we replace him with a technically sound midfielder then i'll be glad to see him gone.

Fair enough pal. As I said though fellaini does not owe us anything in his view. He's completed his contract and if he feels achieved what he wanted here then I really can't fault the man.

Maybe he just wants to go somewhere where his own club fans don’t look down their noses at him and don’t boo him when his name is read out

Was it Lvg or Mourinho that said they liked working with him because he listens and does exactly what he’s told tactically?

I grew to like him I have to say; he became an effective weapon for us against hard to break down teams and definitely his introduction turned around a few games

He’s been better lately but for 3 years he was a fecking train wreck. I won’t miss him.

I can't help but feel that this is the reason he wants to leave. Probably doesn't feel respected/valued and you can't blame him. He's been a top professional and, even when he was booed last season after the Everton penalty, he never dropped his head and gave everything to help get us into the EFL and EL cup finals.

I rated Fellaini when he was at Everton, and was happy when we signed him. Those handful of good games he's had, that's what I thought he'd be like mostly, but in truth is he's had much more mediocre or bad games than he's had good ones.

I agree 100% with the bolded part. Wish him the best. On the other hand, there are much better players out there, and that we'll become a much better side without him.

fecking hell, I'm starting to really feel for Mourinho.

He joins up being told that he'll get limitless resources to compete with his old rival at citeh, and ends up in Dubai trying to convince Fellaini to stay with us, while Guardiola signs Alexis fecking Sanchez to join their 15 point clear squad in January.

I'd understand if he walked. I don't want him to, and I think he'll give Woodward 1 more season, but I'd understand.

He said something like he never wanted to sign Fellaini and Fellaini would have been the last thing he would sign. He wanted Matic he said.
He said he didn't want Fellaini to be his first signing as that wouldn't reflect well on him or something to that effect. He wanted to sign other players first.

Oh please. Lets not make this up again.
Time and time again, it has been proved that , Fellaini , if rightly used is a great option to have. Jose has been using him rightly as well.

Jose wants him to stay for his unique qualities. Fellaini wants to leave for new challenge after all the slacks he received in the last 3 years. Ed doesnt want to pay that much money for a backup optiom.

Everyone is right unfortunately and its a win win situation for atleast 2 of them whether he stays or leaves.
