Fellaini (on his way) out? | Duncan Castles: Fellaini agrees new two year deal

I am to be honest. It doesn't really matter.
I don't think I'd say it myself unless it's in the heat of the moment, but it doesn't bother me.

It bothers me when its consistent. The thing that always bothered me with the Fellaini treatment is that it was based initially on how he joined the club, the late arrival and the fact we missed out on Thiago. Then it became about his physical appearance and his hairstyle.

Everyone is quite right to criticize him on performance but to pretend that its only because of that, and even then he hasnt ever been our worst perfomer during his career here, then they are straight up lying.

We also know that Jose isnt an idiot correct? He is quite capable and known to be ruthless when it comes to replacing players. None of us can seriously say we know whats going to happen next season. Its been widely reported we have been actively seeking a LB and Dalot has also played mostly LB.
I don't trust Jose Mourinho one bit anymore. This is another debate though

Again where are we going to play this new CM?
It probably been a back up type midfielder like Fellaini just to replace numbers, however the means (buying or promoting), a body would have been added just numbers at the very least. Mourinho wouldn't lose such a key player of his without replacing him in the squad

Anyway, I really don't get the meltdown. he's not starting many games for us, Jose rates him as a back-up option and he's been committed to the shirt apart from a few quotes over the last couple of months.

Considering the shit he's had both in the ground and I assume on social media since he's been here, fair fecks to him for wanting to stick around - if he is really on 'only' 100k a week, it's not exactly mercenary behaviour, is it?

I know what you mean. Personally it's the manager's choice I don't like, more than Fellaini himself. Since gloating about holding the club to ransom though, I don't like him either. I get why you'd do it if you're in the position to, but to gloat about it pissed me off a bit.

I fecking hate this news. Tragic player. Awful with his feet. Slows play down. Crap passing. Zero mobility. Makes team resort to hoof ball.

feck off with this decision.

Just another reason I hate Mourinho. As if his shithouse tactics and man management weren’t bad enough.

 won 2 trophies, 1 runners up FA cup and 1 runners up with a points total that would normally win you a PL and he has lost his ambition.
The above is just par.

He lost me at the Sevilla debacle. You cannot convince me he tried to win that tie. He didn't believe United would win the CL and took an early exit.

Finally some sense

Fellaini cannot be accused of being a coward that's for sure. Personally I have only respect for him because he does his best to look out for his own interest.

Because we have other priorities. We need a RW and LB/CB more than another CM
Also Fred isn't a bad playmaker, he looks like a guy who can pass the ball well
Also let's not underestimate Pogba, in the right setup he can be unstoppable
With Fred Mourinho has tried to get someone who can help unleash Pogba. He is one hell of a player and at his best better then why player we can buy.
Lets try to get the best out of what we have rather then buying new shiny toys every year
It's funny you should say that, lets get the best out of what we have but instead of just playing Sanchez on the RW or seeing Lingard continue his progression, we must by a shiny new toy for the RW. Pogba is never going to control games, his best ever football involved Pirlo running the show and him doing business in the final 3rd, there is no excuse for signing a lump like Fellaini, it's horrible management from a guy who can't live without an option to play hoofball to.

Next season when we're playing hoofball the Jose fans will tell you 'what else can Jose do? Pep has KDB while Jose has to do with shit players like Fellaini'

Who says he gloated? Was this on video?

this is the kind of shit im talking about. Hating a player who has rescued games for us and scored winners for us. like what the feck?
Rescued? More like lost points due to his non-existent positional sense during defensive set pieces and not being bothered to track his runners into the box who then have a free run at our goal. Conceding last minute penalties. Joke of the footballing ability taking into account he plays for supposedly one of the best clubs in the world. In 5 years time, he did literally nothing apart from stinking the place, and then he has a cheek to come out with the staff he did recently, madness.

His whole trophy laden career was lost with one poor CL tie? Tough crowd you are. Just admit you fall for peer pressure and I will respect you for it.

Go back and have a watch then come back to me.

I mean in how we set up our team, retaining Fellaini. Jose saying he wants Young to play about 50 games next year. Is Dalot going to dislodge Valencia on the other side, not likely at the start. The same glaring issues and how we play look and change a game with a sub. Calm down Ramshock and stop quoting me with bullocks as usual.

Dalot is one for the future and Jose will certainly not allow a 19 year old to dislodge the club captain, anytime soon. Now, if Dalot was 25 years old...that would be a completely different story.
Jose wants to win the league this season and he knows that he'll need players who are in their prime, to come in and immediately hit the ground running.
I think Dalot would be lucky to even make the bench!

Totally agree.

Apparently scoring 3 or 4 important goals in 5 years negates all that though.

Jose and his blind followers will have nowhere to hide next season, either he performs or fecks off. No more excuses he has now made a bed for himself.

Okay so now We have Fred, my opinion on Fellaini being in the team has changed. I don't mind if He goes or He stays, I'm indifferent. At least He won't be our go to midfielder anymore when Pogba and/or Herrera are injured or are off-form.

But I'm still surprised by some of the reactions here. The club offered him a new contract months ago, He didn't accept nor rejected it. And now if the news is to be believed, He agrees on the contract. Whether or not the contract has been altered, it's been clear for months that the club (including Jose) want him to stay, even Jose said it himself. Why are people so surprised?

Also if He goes, are you sure Jose won't try to bring in similar type of player? the so called 'the big lump which is only there to win headers'.

There's an interview where he says this. To say it in public is already gloating, in my opinion, and the general tone was that of cockiness. Don't know if it was on video too but I believe it wasn't in English, if I remember right.

If he stays, he ll get booed. It is not completely his fault (except his media cockiness), and it is unfair to boo him, but he ll get booed anyways.
Jose will probably have a meltdown with fans about this.

In 5 years time, he did literally nothing apart from stinking the place, ...

The funny thing is that someone like Luke Shaw has genuinely not done anything in 4 years. But nobody complains about him being in our squad.
Yet, we have Fellaini haters, re-writing history, just to call him names.

He should never get booed. After all he's looking for his interest, if fans are pissed off then direct it at the club or something.

Sanchez is not for enough at RW, let's play the best players where in their best positions. And lingard won't be a starter at United he has way too many deficiencies in his game.
A new RW is not a toy but an absolute necessity as we have ZERO RWs.
Pogba needn't run games if he can get 15 assists and 10 goals. Fred can do the job of playmaker pretty well

Nobody, seriously?

I totally disagree with you about Fellaini but we agree there.

Nobody can lament Fellaini staying and at the same time still want to give Luke Shaw another chance. He's totally ran out of excuses in my opinon.
