It’s believed that negotiations actually started here...

Feck me. Honestly would love the ability to tag DT of AFTV if this goes through. His comments after the 2-1 win - "glorified stoke". Prick.

It suits me. He has his uses but we should be aiming for better quality players and I reckon the AFTV meltdown will be worth him single-handedly obliterating us in both matches next season.

Yup, should have known it would be a bad idea to pop into this thread.

The spin and backtracking would be hilarious. Suddenly 'he'd be a good option to have' and 'Emery wanted him at PSG, so he must see something in him.'

Yeah, massively. I agree with whoever said it above, though. He'd 100% score against us.

150k contract, 10 mil agent fee and 15 mil signing on fee. Half of their transfer budget gone

There's always a bit of nervousness about allowing players to leave to sign for a fellow top 6 Premier League side, but Fellaini is coming up on his 31st birthday, has averaged 4 goals per year in his 5 years with us, and can't pass, create, tackle, shoot or dribble. He's just not very good.

We poach from Chelsea and dump on Arsenal. Makes Chelsea our proverbial mouth and Arsenal our proverbial arse.:D

Looks like the rumours of Arsenal’s tight transfer budget are true

I wonder if he'd be a bit more accommodating with his wage demands if our own fans didn't boo him?

Karma is a bitch, isn't it?

He has every right to negotiate the way he is and I'm glad he's doing it. I also hope we extend his deal in the end. I thought I was crazy for thinking he is a good alternative to have on the bench and that he has had some pretty decent showings for us. Then I saw all this tripe about Matic slowing down our play. I don't think some of the fans here can tell the difference between a headless chicken in the middle of the park and a good midfielder. Reminded me of similar analysis of Carrick early days, underrating him because he didn't dive around the field tackling every blade of grass that moved the wrong way in the wind.

He's not really an Arsenal player though, is he? I mean for one he actually puts up a fight.

Fantastic news if he ends up at Arsenal. Not only do we get rid, but we also directly weaken a top four rival.

I actually think Fellaini when on form and fully match fit is a good player, he just doesn't suit the style play that most of the fans want us to be playing. I was actually happy for him to stay before all this bullshit about making the club bend over to give him a contract. Him talking shit about the club was the last straw for me.

MAROUANE FELLAINI DEMOTED:

SQUAD PLAYER > ARSENAL PLAYER.

What?

Why did we bring in that scout from Dortmund if all we're going to do is sign known, mediocre players like Fellaini?

I can make some guesses

- Low transfer budget
- He is on a free. So it is not a high risk. Can take a punt. If it works, well good, else you sell him.
- He agreed to a small deal (1 year or 2 years).
- Emery is making a Plan B of putting 100 crosses into the box

I wonder if our own fans would be a bit more accommodating with his performances if they weren't on the whole utter shite? I also wonder if he'd already have a much better and lengthier contract offer on the table in that scenario.

Low budget and the scout will also be listening to what the coach wants. It seems like Emery wants his own Iborra.

It really wouldn't be! This would be a disaster of a signing and I think pretty much all Arsenal fans agree.

Our fanbase hates him because the managers use him as a tree to lump balls to, but there is no denying he's a useful option off the bench for someone like say, Emery or Klopp who aren't completely dependent on route one football.

Myself, I only want him to leave because he frees up space and wages for a proper midfielder. That, and the fact that our manager has an unhealthy obsession over him. Otherwise, I don't mind him staying.

On a free, useful option off the bench (assuming he agrees to a squad role) and rarely gets injured. Not a bad deal for Arsenal.
