You take over alone with Edgar Allen if he wants to. If he doesn't want to you can bring Pippa in. Or nobody, it is your team mate you do what you want.
 
If you want to give the win to Polaroid that is your choice too, your team completely.
 
I have not done any work over it other than arguing in this match so feels a bit odd.

Anyway, we can only pick from players of other two semi-finalists... right?

I have PMed my thoughts to Pol. Theon will be privately discussing stuff with him as well. I do not want any more bitterness here so that a well run draft can conclude on a good note.

Me and crappy were planning to be in a team together as we were in the last game Annah, the only reason crappy and I teamed up is because I didn't want to post my write up vs Pol in case it was seen as an unfair advantage - Snow was busy with exams so crappy stepped in and took control of the game, with his write up and tactics.

Of course the whole reason I asked crappy to get involved is so that it was fairer to Pol and I couldn't change my write up, but as it was still unfair I'm happy for him to go into the final instead of me/crappy
 
Alright mate, for me it is fine as I can see reasons why both of you deserve to be in the final so I won't protest if you send Polaroid through.

You guys will reach a great solution to it I am sure about it. Just keep us updated here and get through it as fast as possible.

Pol I never gave up the team, I told you that in PM. I asked Snow to take control of this game because one or two people said it had given me an unfair advantage by seeing your line up and editing my tactics. Snow had exams so I asked crappy to be in charge. No big deal.
 
well, great game indeed.

It's Theon/crappy's team. I volntered to help them out, sent out a half arsed formation to crappy and then proceeded to do feck all. Now that things are sweet again, I leave it to them to take this forward.

Back to the bylines and cheerleaders for me.

All very tricky. Technically Pol should have gone through to begin with but it would be silly for him to do so now after a loss. The concept of a third party being handed over the reins temporarily for PR purposes doesn't sit right with me. In fact, I'm pretty sure the result would have been different, not due to the PR impact but because crappy went about it in a way Theon wouldn't have at all. E.g. focusing on Kohler as cover rather than bangng on about Carlos being the second coming. Not trying to make it out to be genius to have both Zico and Baggio playign there, etc. It's now Crappy's team AFAIC.

That said, you can't consider this anything but a four manager team from now, else it is unfair on Annah (from a vote counting perspective). Too much bias/attachment involved.
 
I don't want to comment on Anto's opinion as I am the opponent in the final and think the neutrals will do a better job commenting on it.

I can vouch myself for AFC/Edgar though to not be a biased voter. He has added a lot to this draft in his way and I am fine with him continuing doing so even if he of course may have an attachment to the opponents team. I will gladly take that risk for a certainly better discussion.

Why would it be a PR exercise? Some people in the thread raised the issue that it was an unfair advantage, so it seemed the fairest way.

The feck up was that it happened to coincide with Snow's exams so he has barely been online in the past week and couldn't do it, but both Edgar and crappy had volunteered to help so it was a fine solution I thought.

I agree Crappy argued it very well, he did in his games as well.

Crappy explained that he had asked Theon to refrain from commenting in the match thread but Theon went ahead anyway, Crappy felt it might be unfair to me but I do not think Crappy should be penalised. Crappy goes through on the basis of the poll result, no need for him to feel bad about it.

Just saw your PM, its fine if you only intended it for a temporary basis, you and Crappy can resolve among yourselves. The line-up was already out there, does not matter who you hand it to, they would have seen it. If you do not want to be seen as profiting from it, I can understand.

Yup, saw that. But by then it was past midngiht here and I dozed off. Good thing, I should say as crappy did a hell lot better than I could have done, imho!

Now I need to see Annah's team from last match....

Because it was unfair either way. If you forced him to publish his lineup but then severed ties fine, but having crappy as some sort of stand in who didn't benefit is one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever heard. He steps in, can't help what happened before, that's fine, we move on as it is. This convoluted way to allegedly remove the advantage gained is complete nonsense in my eyes.

This was the idea I was trying to avoid antohan, so I decided to not submit anything I had written at all and remove this from being a possibility.

If I had sent what I wrote in then you would be complaining about it giving an unfair advantage that way, so either way you're going to criticise.
 
That to me is largely irrelevant, what is relevant is that Polaroid's teamsheet was out in the open for 24 hours before the start, giving anyone ample time to mull over it and how to get at it. I keep banging on about the element of surprise and people don't take it seriously, but it works both in the actual game and with the managers, with one preparing better he knows what's up and what to talk about and the other is still trying to work things out. For some reason though, people sympathise with the manager trying to work things out because they are trying to do so themselves, but ignore the players on the pitch will have been having the exact same problem!

come on guys, it's all over.

In hindsight, I can think of better ways than whap happened earlier, but what happened, happened. As I did mention earlier, I would have supported Pol if he decided to take a bye on Theon's walkover...but things happened differently and ended differently. No point in either blaming or justifying either party now.

Let call a end to this episode and not sour this and future draft games altogether because of this blip!


3rd party ownership of players/teams is proving to be a nuisance even in fantasy drafts! :lol:
 
Alright. I knew there would be another shit-storm over this. Let's draw a line under this -

- Ideally Pol should really have just gotten a bye and moved on to the final. But as Edgar said that did not happen so no point dwelling on it now. I offered Pol the chance to go through instead but I understand why he would be hesitant now. Anyway it shows what should be done in future drafts in such scenarios.

- I did not think through the mechanics of running that match and Theon thought he had cleared up to Pol that he was only stepping out for one match. He also offered to let me manage the team alone last night in our PMs if it was an issue for others. I said no since it does not feel right to me to take the team now to final without having any major role in it till now.

- For now, I suggest we let it be Crappy/Theon vs Annah for the final with some strict rules. Ootherwise this will just carry on

- Only one of us can post in the thread at the time. Other one steps in ONLY if the other person specifically mentions so in the match thread and stops posting all-together himself

- Only one vote out of Theon, Crappy and Snow will count.

The second one, but with Beckenbauer on the right. I already struggle to see a benefit in Beckenbauer and Figueroa together as centerbacks, in a 5 man defense it makes no sense at all and Scirea is probably the best sweeper/libero in a 5 man defense in the history of the worldcup, so benching him in exactly that formation seems completely wrong to me. Eusebio and Müller are an unreal combination upfront.
