Rare occasion where FPL and real football agenda align.

Would have loved a Foden goal but cannot complain too much when I'm missing the robot and he blanks.

Now need Solanke to redeem himself and Palmer not to do something stupid.

Yeah I've got to survive Palmer and Gordon tomorrow as well. Not sure I'll be so lucky.

Indeed. I had both before this GW. Sold Gordon for Son (good) and looking at his returns, he usually gets them at home. Newcastle traditionally don't travel well to London as well (although there's always a Bowen hattrick exception...).

Benched Palmer because I thought Foden is in great form and could still do something (inconclusive so far but Foden had his chances today for sure). The annoying thing is my rivals started Palmer, so for the first time in forever, I'm cheering against him tomorrow.

Average GW so far that could have been great if I'd played Garnacho and Porro in stead of benching them. Son the only player I've fielded that haven't blanked so far.
33 points with Kaminski, Doughty, Burn, Barkley and Captain Solanke to go.
Will do Garnacho to Maddison before the pricerise tonight, and consider which one of Toney/Muniz for Solanke

Does Muniz keep his place though when Jimenez is fit? That'd be my worry otherwise he's a great 8th attacker to have and free's up valuable funds elsewhere.

Also I suppose we need to talk about Watkins at some point. Can he go in GW31? No doubles and his last 8 fixtures are

City (A)
Brentford (H)
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Chelsea (H)
Brighton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Palace (A)

Obviously he'll tick along but how many hauls will he get here? There's a lot of attackers with better fixtures (and an additional game) so something to think about.

Just mocked up my free hit team, felt like 12 players picked themselves so it's going to be a very template game week. And frustrating (for me) you can't also play the bench boost...as my regular bench is absolute fodder to get as much value in my starting 11 and never have benching dilemmas and feel sad looking at the points on my bench like some of you lot!

Currently on:
Flekken, (Areola)
Porro, Doughty, Cash, (Roerslev), (Robinson)
Son, Maddison, Bowen, Kudus, (Elanga)
Watkins, Toney, Morris

Only other options I can see are Douglas Luiz/Bailey over Elanga/Kudus or Wissa/Muniz over Morris.

Anyone got any out there suggestions to make it more interesting?

With both McGinn and Kamara missing, I would be putting Paqueta in my line up as he's also on pens. Maddison had a good game yesterday against them and I would expect a similar advantage for WHU.

Actually yeah he's a good shout over Kudus who has been poor since the AFCON. Knowing fantasy he will have a blinder whilst Paqueta will miss a pen!

Reguilon if fit? He’s more attacking than Cash imo and wasnt he on set pieces? (Mbeumo might be back though).

Cash has moved back quite a lot after Bailey became good, with Villa being more tactically sound with Cash not bombing forward as much. He could have the odd day out, but he hasnt been dangerous for months. Dont think Cash will get a CS neither.

I'm probably landing on Toney.
Watkins is not a part of any of my GW31 WC drafts. Triple City, Arsenal and Liverpool leaves no room in the budget for a 9M Villa attacker with poor fixtures and no doubles.

My 29 team will then look like this (no chip):

Kaminski (Pickford)
Porro, Doughty, Coufal, Reguilon (Burn)
Son(C), Maddison, Bowen, Barkley (Saka)
Watkins, Toney (Haaland)

2,9M ITB

Which is not very far off the freehit template.

Most of these guys have good fixtures in 30 as well, so I think the most likely transfer in GW30 i Barkley to Palmer or Diaz...and then push the WC button for 31.
Happy with the plan.

Regarding cheap options:
For me the most obvious budget enablers in a WC right now is players like Palmer, Muniz, Cunha, Bailey, Garnacho... Question is how many you need to get the team you want.

Palmer and Cunha are both on my watchlist for sure. Good fixtures and extra games. United players are free hit players for me. Not interested in any of them outside of a dgw punt.

This is my favourite GW31 WC draft right now:

Raya (Dubs)
Gabriel, Gusto, Burn (Van Heck, Branthwaite) - A little weak, but:
Salah, Son, Saka, Foden (Palmer)
Haaland, Darwin, Cunha

Team value: 104,8 M - 0,1M ITB

So I agree, Cunha and Palmer are the two most interesting budget enablers. The defense in this team is on the weak side, but the 8 attackers in this team should compensate for it.

This is going to be a long Palmer-less night. If only I benched Foden for him... I was set to be in the 50ks...

Grateful for that Palmer assist, that already makes him my top points scorer this week.

Disasters everywhere and a gameweek rank of over 9 mil. At least Neto, Doughty and Solanke get a second chance.

Isn't Cunha out for the season?

feck. This is still a good week but this 10+ differential from benching Palmer stings

Those wastemen Solanke and Morris better deliver.

Nothing worse than benching a fave player (even played him against City) for this.

22 points from Palmer, Foden, Haaland, Walker, Gordon and Dubravka combined. I'll take that thanks. Leaves me 5 points ahead in my ml overnight with 6 to play on Wednesday to his 2.
