How would the wildcard week 28 look? Knowing a tonne load of the main players don't play in 29?
Have 4 of them on the bench?
Neto, Areola
Udogie, Gabriel, Saliba, Doughty, Senesi
Barkley, Son, Madison, Saka, Bowen
Watkins, Solanke, Morris

That allows me to have 6 DGW players in 28.

Then I'll do Solanke to Toney in GW29 and line up with 10 players and all the big boys:

Areola
Udogie, Doughty, BLANK
Barkley, Son, Madison, Bowen
Watkins, Toney, Morris

Then GW30 will be Madison to Palmer.

GW31 will be Toney & Son to Salah & Haaland, leaving me with this team:

Areola
Gabriel, Saliba, Udogie
Palmer, Bowen, Salah, Saka
Haaland, Watkins, Morris

Subs: Neto, Doughty, Barkley & Senesi (£1.7m in the bank).

Obviously this is first draft but something like that.

With Raptor’s plan (and mine) you can field 11 doublers in 34 when it’s likely City, Chelsea and Liverpool blank, and potentially BB in 37 with 15 doublers from good teams. Using your WC and/or FW now will make it a lot harder to navigate through 34 (when the good teams blank and bad teams double)
I HAVE to FH in 29 or WC in 28, my other option is to take a -12 and I'm not doing that.

I can FH in 34 and use transfers to BB 37.

Start Dubravka Orr Areola this week?
I'm in the same boat and both are terrible  my bookie has West Ham clean sheet odds at 4.10 and Newcastle at 3.10. I think I start Dubravka as he's at home but I fully expect him to ship at least two goals.

Who to get from Bournemouth defense: Senesi or Kerkez?

If you could field 7 in week 29 you're probably right.
I have 1 player so even with a hit I'd be on 4.

But the players I'd bring in I may not want beyond 29 anyway.
I guess you just have to stick with your plan and let the dice roll then.
Can I ask if this was your plan all along, since you ended up in gw27 with only 1 gw29 player in your team? Given that Spurs, Villa, West Ham, Brentford, Fulham and Burnley would have a game in 29 has been known for several weeks and the most likely extra fixture was always Luton vs. NFO.

Those who manage to get through GW29 without using any chips, will know which teams are through to the semis in the FA cup, they will know who blanks and who doubles in GW34 and have a FH-chip to make sure they get 22 fixtures then, they will also be able to handle the fixture swing in 31 and have good knowledge to end up with 25-30 fixtures for their BB in 37.

My guess is that a FH in 29 on avg will give you around 5-15 points edge against the average non FH team (unless for some reason teams who almost never keeps cleans suddenly keeps cleans that GW, since most non FH teams will have the biggest attacking upside players anyway, in Watkins, Toney, Bowen, Son, Rich etc.). To me, that has a low potential upside compared to the potential upsides of having a FH for a double GW with blanks (34). Even worse if you already used or need to use your WC before knowing which teams are through to in the cup and the fixture swing in 31.....

It's fun to discuss different stragegies so it would be interesting to get some thoughts around this.

Think you're right @Dirty Schwein after sleeping on it. Wildcard in 28 is more sensible. One more week of information on players carrying knocks and bookings to people like Senesi (on 8) means you can properly attack the double and set up to get through 29 better. Also keep hold of potential haulers in Foden and Trippier for one more week. Can just picture me doubling up on Arsenal defence only for them to concede in the last minute.

If you feel you have no chance of getting through 29 without using a chip, I definitely like the WC28 option best. Gives you lot of time to maneuver between 29 and 37 and saves the FH for the potential biggest upside GW (34).

Great looking wildcard/plan. You're welcome ;)

Think I have a bit more transfer value than you as well Schweiny. I can keep Son in 31 and do Bowen to Palmer and then Maddison/Rich to Salah instead. Son/Salah/Haaland dream team back in

Then 32-37 can (injuries aside) focus on removing Luton and Bournemouth players for 37 doublers and BB although we would lose a transfer with the FH in 34.

Some awaited press conferences today... I'd love to have clarity on Solanke because he's a must have next week, but if injured I am not buying him just now. We should also know more on Richarlison

Yeah if Solanke is out I might have to wildcard today instead due to another foolish early transfer.

Yeah, this is probably the route I'm gonna go down.

Yeah, I was typing that from my phone but will look at funds properly. Also depends if Son remains on the wing, in which case, I'm not as fussed in holding him. If he moves up top again, then things will change.

Same, if Dom and Rich are okay I don't to transfer Hwang out and I will have 7 fit attackers. If one is definitely out then get Son in.

Just had a look, I can actually do Bowen to Salah instead of Son (as long as there aren't too many price swings between now and then). If there are, I would need to take an additional hit to downgrade a bench defender and then make the move. I'll see how Son is doing by then.

Haaland went up to £14.5 last night as well so already at an annoying price point. That'll be £0.3m extra to get him back.

Yeah it's annoying, But at this late stage and after WC is used, team value is less important and more about points. As long as I leave some dry money on the side and can afford him back, willing to take the price hit.

Yeah this is why we build it over the season. I think my rival has about £4m less value than me so it will be the difference between Son and Maddison for example. Could be quite significant.

I'm in the same situation, i.e. only have Martinez and Watkins in my team that don't blank in GW29. I don't see a point packing my teams with West Ham, Brentford, Fulham or Burnley players in a year where you can easily have 15 good players across the team as there is zero need to have any fodders, and having two Villa players is enough (and even with Martinez I'd prefer to move him out for someone cheaper). I wouldn't really want any defenders from any of these teams going forward, and probably no midfielders other than one Spurs player/Bowen either.

Of course if someone is using wildcard in GW30 then it's different, but I'm probably going to use mine later on. BTW doing FH in GW29 most likely means majority of your players are going to be having a DGW soon anyway.

I couldn`t do that, Hoping to use TC in GW28:nervous:

It means it's very likely your players will double in 37. The most likely doublers in 34 are: SHU, BOU, CRY and EVE while there is a chance City, Chelsea and/or Liverpool blanks that week. We'll know what that GW looks like after 29.

Ah, so not really helpful as I will have used my WC before that. The 34 doublers don't seem particularly enticing, Bournemouth and Everton have some decent options and maybe you'd want one of Palace players that's all.

"Richarlison is out for three to four weeks. He picked up a bit of a knee injury in the last game. "Ryan [Sessegnon] had a bit of a setback after the last game, well a big one."

With the Richy news coming out, should I go straight Richy to Son in preparation of the GW29 or should I do Garnacho to Son/Bowen with hopes of having Richarlison and Son for GW29

How’s Maddison as an alternative to Son in order to squeeze in Bowen

Richarlison sounds like he could miss 29. Probably not worth benching him. Son is a must own up front.

This thread has convinced me to do WC on 28. Hope it works.
That will be the template move, most of us in the same boat.
