Son as captain, 2 defenders only, 3 United blanks done.
Saliba, Haaland, Alvarez difficult top of table clash.

Could be a 20 point week.

Wildcard time.

Who are my irrefutable must haves? Thinking

Trippier, Cash
Arsenal defender & mid
Haaland
Salah?
Watkins?
Botman can probably stay, even Gusto, unless James news comes out

Go no Haaland! Please

The players who went no Haaland in my league got spanked early on, but a guy who was in 80th in my work league 2 weeks back, hit 90 odd last week, and is now 5th!

Positives: I no longer have any United players. Assist for Maddison.

Negatives: Everything else

See, its more fun

Seriously though, and I would love to hear yours or the other resident FPL manager's thoughts - but £12.6m and £14m is a lot of concentration risk. I feel like Salah's next runs is better then I might switch to Haaland but I dont see how both works with the next run coming up. Liverpool have Luton, Everton, Forrest among other favourable games - a lot at home. Newcastle have some good fixtures too. Trent and Trippier can well rip up the playbook in the coming weeks. Yeah, so can Haaland but I prefer to spread the money.

Salah seems one of the few mids who can be counted on to get very regular points, but not to the level he did other seasons. Potentially down to their other forwards creaming off points. And when you have Haaland as well, you'll barely captain him. So 12.6m is very expensive for a non captain.

Newcastle feel essential to get on. Can't have any more warnings about Trippier, so he'll go into my wildcard team immediately tonight. Will probably leave Botman in there too.

I was wondering about Rashy / Bruno / Onana v Sheff Utd next, but i've probably lost 0.5m on them already, they've shown very little in some favourable games, and even the most stubborn bastad has to eventually call it a day.

You are forgetting City's best player.

Too many defensive absentees so I've activated my wildcard ahead of price changes:

Turner, Areola
Trippier, Cash, Coufal, Taylor, Braithwaite
Salah (C), Son, Ward Prowse, Almiron, Nakamba
Haaland, Watkins, Hojlund

Thoughts? I want Bowen ahead of Ward Prowse, so I guess could downgrade Hojlund but I do fancy him vs Sheffield United.

I'm jealous you've got Almiron anyway. He's going to score about twelvety goals in the next two months. It's what he does (has done one year)

Alvarez. I don't think KDB can just waltz back into their team with the way Alvarez has been playing.

I've got Alvarez at the moment.

By the time the international break is over, Botman & Gusto will be available, to complement Cash & Saliba and the biggest issue is probably having 3 United. (Diaby, Maddo and Son a strong mid alongside Bruno/Rashy)
But maybe 1 transfer is enough to sort that in mid for now.

Will have to decide.

No Arse? Very risky. I'll probably change Hojlund to Alvarez as well. I have Hojlund for 4 games now with no returns. I'll probably stay off United players for now until we show we can convincingly win a game.

Quite nice. Big lack of Arsenal though. If you're going the Watkins 8ish m 2nd striker route, maybe you can't have the United 3rd striker and that might be better to dish funds elsewhere? Weak couple of defensive options and Nakamba etc.

Looks good. The big guns plus a few nice differentials. Yeah not really many good looking forward options this year tbh. I think if you want Bowen then the best way is to change formation to 3-5-2 and get another midfielder instead of Rasmus. More value there.

Yea United players need punting out ASAP. I have Hojlund whom I'm pondering to whether leave him on vs Sheffield or take him out. Scared Alvarez is going to go up in price again and I won't be able afford him. Currently it's a straight swap between the two.

This is my current. Wildcard job essential? Probably yes with 2 Luton and 3 United in fairness :)

How many do I keep?

Onana Turner
Saliba Botman Gusto Kabore Cash
Rashy Bruno Son Maddo Diaby
Haaland Alvarez Luton striker

I had the same problem this week with needing to shift Sterling to Bowen before price changes. I wasn't prepared to take the hit to do it and look what happened today. So yeah, it's always very dangerous removing someone with a good fixture. I think there's a decent chance he scores against them.

Probably these 6. And maybe Turner. I don't know what Botman's injury situation is either.

I've been playing the "what if they score in the next game" card with Rashy and Bruno for weeks now.
Sod's law dictates they'll do it against Sheff Utd.
But it's City after that, so probably needs doing .

Turner might not stick around a number one. That Brentford keeper that started today may displace Flekken and he's 3.9

Probably yes. But I'm not doing too well to be giving out advices for anyone so it's up to you.

Maybe change one of Rashford/Bruno to someone more reliable. Le Arse attacker maybe?

Ta, not a fan of Botman, or is it more that Tripper will be the key pick and best not double up?

Because of his injury. If he's back soon and you're going the Salah route then you might want to keep him as it will be a stretch to get Trippier in. He's obviously the best pick. Seems back to his bonus point magnet best.

I probably foolarsely shipped Saka to Son this week. So either Saka or Odey. Saka not always being on pens is a real arsehole.

Thanks for the advice! An alternative lineup is:

Turner, Areola
Trippier, Cash, Coufal, Taylor, Braithwaite
Salah (C), Son, Bowen, Almiron, Neto
Haaland, Watkins,
Archer

0.3m in the bank. Reckon Neto and Bowen is a safer bet for points than Hojlund and Ward Prowse? I haven't watched any of Wolves this season since we beat them 1-0 but I've heard their xg under O'Neill is higher than previous managers.

I have been sleeping on Alvarez and Aston Villa players for too long now. Let's see how the international break goes. Probably more injuries where I have to waste my FT again.
