How about it being 0-0 after 40mins?

Means absolutely nothing in terms of whether the actual decision to back Spurs players was sound or not.The only thing that has stopped them from having scored already is luck/variance, not the basic premise of the decision having been incorrect.

Luton conceded well over 1xG in the first 10 minutes alone and could easily be a few goals down already. Absolutely nothing about this game so far suggests that was a bad decision. They just happen not to have taken their chances. Good decisions don't guarantee good outcomes, etc etc.

We broke the Gandhi law. No amount of xG can justify that.

You're right. We can all celebrate we made a nice decision on paper when it blows up

To make it even more annoying my Luton defender is benched.
Inevitable they cleanie now.

Wouldn't Have worried too much but things suddenly unraveled that I only had 3 starting defenders even having pulled a -4.

No. But we're more likely to make good decisions in the future if we understand what outcome bias is.

Arguing that picking Spurs players was a bad idea is silly. They've been every bit as dominant and creative as people predicted they'd be. But you can't predict bad luck and a dumb red card. Shit happens.

Red card might make more spaces for counters.. Looked like too many players on the pitch anyway

Captaining a Spurs player. In the first game.
History tells us both aren't a great idea.

Probably should have remembered a couple of weeks ago when people captained Son v Sheff Utd, and he blanked.

I can barely remember last week, let alone game 1.

Well it was Haaland and he scored twice.

Watkins bagged a hatty in the early kick off last week.

Point being I tend to captain the player who I think is going to score the most points whether they're playing in the first game or the last. The Gandhi stuff is tired bollocks.

Would have captained the Spurs defender had I known there was a secret competition going on at Luton about getting the worst miss of the season.

My work pal actually had the scorer, the rascal, so really hope Lu-on can score.

That guy generally only comes here to troll.

Nope. I was offering genuine advice and was completely correct…

Son cappers are mad…

…guaranteed he’s hooked early.

and Ange will hook Son ASAP and try and suggest injury in order to keep him from International Break.

Very risky captain choice imo. Trap material really.

He's had a knock but been back in training since Wednesday. With Perisic, Solomon and Brennan all out injured I don't think we have much choice, he'll start. Might not get the full 90 especially if we're winning though.

Correct again. Son cappers shoulda listened.

Wissa price drop and I left him on the bench. Like clockwork, he gets GA

Of course Sterling bangs the week I finally drop him...

Not to jinx it but my best transfer this season has been Leno. Fulham are so solid.
