Fantasy Premier League 22/23

I have actually bought Isak in! I wouldn’t be taking him out for Martial. Newcastle have been regularly putting 3-4 goals past teams like Southampton. The fact he will get on the pitch twice in 36 seals it for me.

Klopp said Jota got a heavy knock and they were monitoring him, but he hasn’t been seen in training.

Will he though? He didn't start the last game, Wilson did.
That doubt between the two is a bit worrying.

What do we think of this team?

Ederson
Trent Tripper Shaw
Martinelli Mitoma Rashford De Bruyne Gakpo
Wilson Haaland(C)

Debating whether to throw in Akanji instead of Shaw and put another keeper like Raya in but not sure.

Lovely team, but it's the no Salah, ahead of 2 home games that worries.
Plus does Wilson have to share minutes with Isak?

Predictably it seems Jota will not be available for Liverpool’s double now that I have gone with him on my WC days ago.

Cheers, true about Salah but I’d have to do a major reshuffle to accommodate him. You’re right about Wilson and Isak sharing minutes but after his double last night I think he’ll start at the weekend surely.

FH

Currently;

Ederson
Shaw, stones, TAA
Mitoma, Rash, Salah, Bowen, Gakpo
Halaand, Martial

Trips first sub.

Remember Isak scored a double himself the game before though. Fantasy Scout reckons their manager plays the fresh player and that Wilson will drop out for Isak.
Transfers in are way higher for Isak to. Risky, but Southampton at home for a team who have scored 10 in 2 games could be worth it.

I've gone martial as he is a guaranteed start both games providing he isn't injured but I fully expect to be burned with a 4 pointer.

Apparently not seen in the training pictures. That doesn't sound good, and is enough for me to take him out.
Might go the Gahkpo option instead. 10 pointer 2 of the last 3 games. 1 point and off pre 60 in the other mind!

Is he though? He's having his minutes managed, and this is his time playing in the last 5

29,71,30,19,28. One goal, one assist.

I'd love to back him, but those are worrying.

Martinelli has scored a goal or assist in 9 of his 11 games. And the only time not doing so in the last 7 was Man City away! Which is fair enough.

Plays Chelsea who are poor, but then has Newcastle and Brighton . Hmmm.

Yes, it seems right to me too, Raya is like a magnet for saves and bonus points while Ederson IMO can make a maximum of 12 points in double as he plays in a better team and rarely gets those points for saves let alone bonus points.

Are there any other moves worth another -4 hit (-8 in total), for example, Grealish for Martinelli or Watkins for Gakpo ? Also probably not, but just asking. :D
I reckon grealish could be seeing some bench at some point. Would be a risk. I personally don't trust gakpo but I've also had a terrible few weeks so am unreliable at best!

I think there is enough of a pattern there to take the gamble. The other game Isak missed was a midweek one too, and I don’t think Wilson is a player to be playing games tightly together with his injury issues.

It’s never that easy. I got a 38 last week and dropped 100k places in rank, this week rebounded 80k with an 84. If you hit the right Captain, you never know what else will happen and one haul will never finish you off.

We can’t have everyone!
Wiser words never spoken. It's a lottery, for me at least!

Have taken ages trying every eventuality concerning KDB, Gahkpo etc, but I think this has a great balance.

Steele (Iversen)
TAA Stones Shaw Trippier (Botman)
Salah Rashy March Mitoma Grealish
Haaland, Isak (Martial)

Need to gamble on who to bench. Martial I have definitely benched, which is risky - but with a view to starting the week 37 double if he's properly fit by then.

@Dirty Schwein as you're about, what do you reckon? My KDB & Salah option was seriously skimpy on bench so binned it.

This is pretty template, which despite what some say, is not a bad thing. Think you're set pretty well with that team for the rest of the season... Brighton, United, City, Newcastle and Dippers covered and there's enough flexibility to move things around if you need. Martial could be a masterstroke if things pan out but you can always bench him if he carries on looking useless.

I did look at Ederson in goal, but that just means you bench Steele, with all his doubles and I was spanked by him last gameweek.

Gahkpo is intriguing, with 3 home games coming, 10 points 2 of the last 3. But if you play him, you ditch March, and then end up with a chump attacker who won't start (circa 5m or less).
Bruno just wrecks the squad as he's such an awkward price point. You'd end up having to have 2 facilitator strikers.

I think I'll set this team now and sleep on it.

But you certainly can't bench Stones or TAA, so which of these is benched?

Shaw, Trippier or March - have Trippier at the moment.

Two doublers and a defender with a prime fixture who despite a long run of no attacking hauls (or cleanies!) could get a double digit easily on any given day!

I'm jealous of this side. Looks really strong.

Yeah, I think it is not worth a gamble, the surest thing is Salah, maybe KDB, but they are too expensive for me.

Anyway, my final squad is:

GK: Raya
DF: TAA, Trippier, Mee, Estupinan
MF: March, Bruno, Mitoma, Rashford
CF: Jota, Haaland (C)

8/11 players on double, 16/19 home fixtures.

Thank you and @Dirty Schwein for your kind replies, good luck to everyone here !

Jota can double bag, but there seem to be some doubts that he wasn't pictured in training.
Fingers crossed for you. I've taken him out but with a wildcard could reshape things.

If he did start at least that mitigates the no Salah issue for you a bit.

Your front six are almost identical to mine! With that in mind, i REALLY hope you have good luck this week

I was really proud of myself for navigating to 21 fixtures + Isak for a hit, but it seems like most have very similar or better looking teams.

Starting to get that creeping feeling that it will be one of those weeks :nervous:

Are we TC haaland then? Any other opportunities coming up?

You have to do it now I think. By the time 37 rolls around, the title could be wrapped up. If you still have it, you hit it now while they still need to win their games.

I've got Trips starting so expect a 2 pointer. When in doubt, always go DGW.

Good luck mate. Keep an eye on Jota news, he might not play.

So is Martinelli to Grealish a good transfer for a hit? I look at the fixtures with 2 more doubles for City and say yes. Then I know it is Pep and think will Grealish be benched in 2-3 games still?

With that move I have 10 doublers and Trippier which is pretty good.

True, from the start of the season I was telling myself I will have no Liverpool players, somehow I had a feeling they will fell off this season. But I got Jota last GW and if he disappoints me now that will be the end of it. :wenger:

Thanks. Yeah, I know, but I will rather take a gamble hoping he will be playing at least against Fulham than taking another -4 hit.

Shall we say prayers now ?

Agree I would not buy Jota, but if you have him I play him. He might play one game and even the best forwards like Isak are doubts to start every game and Alvarez/Martial also risky.

Yeah I did my transfer to move back to Rashford from Antony though and have no place to go now. I don’t want to take a hit as he may well be back for the second game in 4 days and get points there.

Well at least I’ll be virtually certain to get good minutes from Gakpo. I’m bench boosting now so even getting one game from Jota will be OK. Forward options are so uncertain that I don’t even know who I’d swap him for (got Haaland and Isak as the other two).

Got spanked mid week leaving 21 points on the bench :( ending on a miserable 50! Didn’t even try to be clever, oh well!

Rolling with TC Haaland

Steele
Dunk Stones Trent
March Martinelli Grealish Salah Rashford
Haaland (TC) Isak

Hoping it’s not Pep roulette or Howe did he not start Isak?!

Best of luck everyone! May the hauls be huge

Really struggling to decide this week.

Raya (Kepa)
Trippier Estup TAA Shaw Botman
Mitoma March Fernandes Salah Grealish
Isak Haaland Greenwood

-12
TAA replaces Chilwell
Salah replaces Martinelli
Isak replaces Watkins
Greenwood replaces Kane

It feels like a big sacrifice to get Salah in but thought?

No point. Not enough time to make up the hit.

I know my main opponent in my league is taking the -8 at least.

Current side pre transfers is

Raya (Kepa)
Estup Trips Shaw Botman (Chilwell)
March Mitoma Bruno Grealish Martinelli
Haaland Kane (Watkins)
