If you play Steele I wouldn’t bother with another defender on WC and just go Mitoma + March

Wouldn’t call Shaw/Bruno/anyone else essential, but with the doubles, fixtures and top4 to fight for I’d say more than one United is advised.

Sam Greenwood or the other 4.1 Forest lad might be WC essentials too as excellent bench fodders allowing multiple premium players :lol:

Is it worth transferring in a Utd defender at -4 when I already have Konate, Akanji and Trippier? Could bench Trippier for Shaw but Newcastle could easily keep a clean sheet as well.

I have Shaw but I wouldn't be taking a hit to bring our defenders in. It's not like any of them have an obvious upside like TAA or prime Chilwell/James... Well Shaw can, but he's playing CB. No point.

I'd probably rather take a hit to get a Newcastle defender in than one of ours, despite one less game!!

Cheers guys. Can't do TAA budget-wise and already have Gakpo, Konate and Alisson so think I'm not changing anything else then. Team is Alisson; Trippier, Konate, Akanji; Gakpo, Mitoma, Rashford, Martinelli; Haaland, Watkins, Kane.

I have Saka on the bench, still thinking about starting him over Watkins - but I'm #2 in our mini-league, #1 team has Saka starting but doesn't have Watkins and I really need to take some risks by now.

Also remember that Watkins is better away than at home and United give the opponents many chances. I wanna play Watkins but I have Isak who has just been rested and playing a useless Soton.

Had a woeful GW30 + 31 (capped Maddison, back-to-back, don't ask) and I'm now trying to claw myself back into again. Have a feeling that we will concede both games and that shaw + DDG are both dud picks.

If you had to pick one between Pinnock (Forest home) or Trippier, who you would pick?

Only reason why this is a debate is because Pinnock has been something of a unsung hero for me, and my rival is playing his BB with triple newcastle (my flawed logic is to hope saints score and cancel him out).

Thoughts?

Surely Brentford keep a cleanie vs forest, right?

Have 2 FT and no chips. Any suggestions? The way I see it Mac Allister may bring in lesser points than Martinelli this GW.Getting TAA and Salah seems to be pretty tough.
Is TAA and Gakpo good enough?

Haaland is a must have man.
Steele instead Martinez. 2 games vs one at OT.
Mitoma instead of Willock.
Sell Dawson and buy City defender (Stones?).

You don't have much players with double. Maybe to go -4 or minus 8 for that? Transfer one gamers for two?

You absolutely have to have Haaland. That should be the priority.

I would probably do something like Watkins/Saka/Mee to Haaland/March/Stones. It’s a -8 but Haaland will more than make that up on his own as Captain. Brighton have 3 DGW on horizon and March has their best numbers and Stones is most “exciting” City defender.

That leaves you with

Steele

Trippier - TAA - Stones
March - Mitoma - Rashford - Salah
Haaland (c) - Toney - Isak

I would be very surprised if that team wasn’t a green arrow after this week. Only 3 that don’t play two games have great fixtures and you have your three Brighton for 7 games in next 4GW

I think yes. Chelsea can’t score so there is always a risk, but the latter have DGW ahead and White doesn’t. Arsenal going away to Newcastle next and Brighton after that, so you might not play White that much from here on in.
 
The big difficulties this week then, even with a WC

Not knowing who will start out of Isak/Wilson - if we knew - home to Southampton and then a decent double soon would be a great option. (Think I'll ditch Botman to Schar though, as the latter gets decent attacking returns and Botman I'm not sure even goes up for set pieces? Or does and never gets near them!)
Jota - can pop up with 2 goals no worries, but does he play both?
KDB - does he play both - as too damn expensive if not.
Enciso - if we knew he'd be Brighton's striker the next few weeks, with THREE doubles, he'd be a decent pick. Same with that young Rooney-esque striker. But it could be either of them, or Welbeck! (Probably much safer to stick with Steele, Mitoma, March - but ensure your other keeper is a starter, not a dodgy Iversen similar scenario to Steele!)

4m Greenwood would be a decent route if needing the scope to cram KDB in with Salah and KDB, but then you're screwed if you need wriggle room later on.

White is a sub. Trios is in first 11 for dgw. Damn, i hate having City players. But yeah, i will do minus 4 for Stones instead of White.
So that will mean benching Trips for this one. Always a risk in benching Trips.

Nah, no way I'm going with the Martial gamble... they were winning with the Sancho-Rashy-Antony front 3, so I'm guessing he's just leaving it. I might have to go Antonio instead.... which seems drastic!

Martial is having his minutes managed which is a risk and an opportunity.
Could see him starting this weekend. No guarantee on output or minutes though. But he'll be fresh after that wander around!

No Salah for a double home game week feels worrying. He's scored 6 in his last 5 homes.
