Fantasy Premier League 22/23

If Haaland carries on this kind of form all season, how much do you reckon they should make him next season…?

I’d say 16m, because you’re literally paying for a perma-cap, and you also need to make it somewhat worthwhile to NOT have him.

What do you lot reckon?
On the flip side... Salah will be a 5.0

Probably good news if you have Andreas on the bench, which could be quite a few people.

If Salah is still in the PL next season (which I don’t think he will be) and if he carries on current form, he should be around 8.0m, with Foden, Saka etc coming in around 9m.

But they won’t do that, as with the ridiculously priced Bruno F, they’ll keep his price around 10/11m and rule him out for most squads.

Likewise, they’ll prob price Haaland at 13m which is effectively like removing the captaincy feature.

Where does he go?

31 next June and signed new contract recently… who pays a chunk of cash for him do you think?

Zouma really giving me an unexpected boost. Keeping the celebrations low key though. Can't help feeling I'm betraying my cat.

In current form it doesn’t look good but he clearly wanted away and they fought to keep him - I think for just one more season, with the agreement that he’d sign so they could get a decent fee for him.

Klopp is phasing him out imo - pushing him wide and having him tee up Diaz (!?) and Darwin.

Got Zouma and Fabianski. Good differential. But Bowen disappoints me again. If he can't score at home vs Bournemouth, I don't have any hope with this guy. Might do Bowen -> Saka.

I think when Benrahma is playing he's the number 1 penalty taker, hasn't missed one in his career apparently. Thing is, Moyes doesn't seem to rate him so he hardly plays to begin with.

With VAR, West Ham is probably getting a penalty against us.

To be fair the original plan was to bench him vs us and play him vs Palace and Leicester. But I don't see him outscoring Saka vs those two teams in the next 3 GWs.

A good return of 70 points for me this week. Frustrating that Foden came on and got the 1pt as I had Andreas sitting first on my bench with 10pts.

Ended up with a little red arrow this week with 55 points and a frustrating 26 points on the bench (Ward, Andreas, Williams and Dalot)!! Only Kane and Justin showed up besides captain Haaland. Sitting on 775 points, which is decent, but not great.

My team looks good, but I've got mixed feelings for Bowen and a couple of others going forward, especially with Bowen apparently off penalties now (got White in for Justin this week before his price goes up):

Guaita (Ward)
Trippier, White, Cancelo (Dalot, Willams)
Foden, Zaha, Martinelli, Andreas (Bowen)
Haaland (C), Kane, Jesus (V)

1,3M in the bank

I might go from Jesus to Darwin after next round if he doesn't deliver or picks up a yellow against Nottingham, depending on Darwins injury status of course.
Bowen might also get moved on after GW14 or 15 if he doesn't step it up a notch and despite Guaita and Zaha having very nice fixtures the next 5 rounds, this weeks horrorshow won't give them much slack going forward, so I guess Trossard, Gross and Rashford should be back on the menu after week 14.

If I feel really crazy going into GW15, I could do a Bowen/Foden to Almiron/KDB as well..... so many choices.

I'm going to keep Zaha for one more easy fixture and hopefully get a haul out of him before I shift him out for Saka. He's not doing enough for a 7+ player.

I'm thinking the same but Arsenal have Forrest this weekend and Chelsea the week after. Better to do it now or not bother with Saka at all in my opinion.

Zaha vs Soton (H), West Ham (A), Forrest (A)
Saka vs Forrest (H), Chelsea (A), Wolves (A)

Here's xGI/90 (expected goals + assists/90 minutes) and comments for some starting midfielders:

KDB - 0,84 overperforming by quite a bit due to teammates finishing (Haaland)
Salah - 0,72 underperforming due to poor finishing
Rodrigo - 0,71 About par so far
Foden - 0,68 Overperforming due to good finishing from both him and his teammates
Sterling - 0,66 been let down a bit by poor finishing from both him and his teammates
Rashford - 0,64 poor finishing
Gross - 0,63 Let down by poor finishing by his teammates.
Martinelli - 0,63 around par total, but has been finishing really well and has been let down quite a bit by poor finishing from teammates. (2 assists from 3,47 xA)
Diaz - 0,59 around par. A bit overperforming.
Willock - 0,56 Horrible finishing and been let down by teammates
Zaha - 0,54 decent finishing
Bailey - 0,53 Around par, but not enough minutes
Odegaard - 0,51 has been finishing really well, but has been let down quite a bit by Jesus poor finishing.
Bowen 0,50 Poor finishing from both him and his teammates
Saka - 0,48 Odegaard, Xhaka and Martinelli has massively buffed his assist tally this season with excellent finishing (4 assists from 1,14 xA).
Trossard 0,46 Great finishing
Son 0,46 around par.
Almiron 0,44 great finishing
Bruno 0,43 Let down a bit by poor finishing from teammates

Other notables further down the list:
Mount 0,35 overperforming
Gordon 0,32 around par
Andreas 0,30 great finishing from teammates
Xhaka 0,29 overperforming
Maddison 0,29 fantastic finishing and massively overperforming in general
Barnes 0,29 great finishing
Longstaff 0,28 around par
Bernardo S. 0,27 massively helped by great finishing from teammates
Sancho 0,24 around par
Guimaraes 0,23 overperforming
Iwobi 0,20 massively helped by great finishing from teammates.

Didn't make it any easier, but it's nice to know some of the numbers behind the numbers.
Zaha is, even though often frustrating to have in your team (I have him too), not a bad player to have.

I'd be very surprised if Maddison (finahing+teammates finishing) especially, but also Trossard/Almiron (finishing) and Saka/Bernardo(teammates finishing) to a certain degree can keep up delivering the endproduct they have with the xGI numbers they have.

Like I said a while back I think I'll just keep Zaha until wildcard now. Might do Salah to Rashord/Bowen in 15 and have 2 for 16. Toney v Man City away so he could become Kane in 16 who has leaky Leeds at Home.

Wow, that's fascinating. Thanks very much. Plenty of food for thought there, in this very helpful post.

Fair call. I'm going to have to sell Salah to have the money available is the problem, and don't want to do it before I get another return out of him. He can't finish for toffee at the moment but seems to get returns a lot. I'll give him another weekend with Leeds coming up at Anfield, but you're right, bringing Saka in when he's got Chelsea to play probably isn't the answer.
