Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

I'm more inclined to go with double Liverpool defence. From GW22, 3 out of the next 4 are primed for a CS and there's too much uncertainty around where the attacking points are going / rotation for my liking.

Agree on their attacking options. Lots of rotation happening with them for anyone but Salah, or injuries affecting things. Gakpo currently doing well, Luis Diaz was at the very start of the season but nobody else consistently.

Double Liverpool defence looks good too, might make my switch from Timber to Konate next week for Liverpool's Ipswich fixture whereas Arsenal are away at Wolves. If I wasn't thinking of playing assistant manager in 24 on Slot I'd look for 2 Liverpool defenders as well plus Salah.

Feel a bit forced to play the assistant manager chip then as a way of having 3 Liverpool assets overall for their double GW seeing as I have 3 Newcastle and 3 Chelsea players. If Newcastle make the Carabao final they'll blank in 29 so I've got to transfer as many of their players out as I can by then to avoid having half a team that week, if Arsenal do I have to do the same for my Chelsea and Arsenal players instead as Arsenal v Chelsea will be off. Not sure I can end up on 3 Liverpool players too as it's the same story with them should they overcome the 1-0 defecit with Spurs. Would rather cover the double GW with 2 Liverpool players + Slot due the way my squad is made up, a bit easier to navigate as we head towards that Carabao final blank week for some of the teams.

The argument I’m seeing against him is that he’s not explosive enough. He’ll get a solid 6 to 9 pointer most of the time and not much more .
And that is something I thought too… and it’s a fair comment.

But logic says Southampton at home (bottom, poor, probably down after late loss v us) is a markedly better fixture than Liverpool at home (best team in country, top, in form)… and Wood got nine points.

Again, not saying it’s wrong, just curious.

Saw a comment on X about ownership stats. If you have both, captain Wood and Salah does better, you’ll lose A LOT to a lot of players. If you have both, captain Salah and Wood does better, you’ll ‘lose’ less.

Just spitballing…

Would have been on Palmer captain if not for the yellow flag, it's now on Salah.

Not completely convinced Salah will outperform others this week, a big part of it is that he's surely going to be the most popular pick and it can't hurt too much to also cpatain him.
That's it.
I have 3 Liverpool but still want Brentford to take them.

There is always at least one bang average player every year that i refuse to get and just keeps on returning most weeks much to my annoyance.

This year, one of those players is Chris bloody Wood.

But this week, I needed to get rid of Jesus and even though i really did not want to, i've brought in the lump that is Chris Wood due to the fixture.

No doubt, he will instantly turn back to the Chris Wood we all know.

Hope i'm proven wrong obviously.

Is this AM manager chip all that worth it if I need to potentially free up as much as 1.5m.

I have 0.4 in the bank and have Hall, TAA, Milenkovic and Gabriel so I could swap Gabriel out for a lower price defender from next week to get Slot in and I suppose I've answered my own question there.

Are people thinking of using it from GW 24 or waiting til a later DGW?

Did everyone realise Bournemouth's defenders are crocked, as the commentator just said? Three fit defenders at the club apparently.

Starting to regret not making Isak captain

He must be the most in form by points defender in the game over recent weeks
He's done me great but I didn't want 3 players in the opening game. If it just ends as an assist, I wouldn't mind.

There's a high chance he'll come in though as I have Palmer and Sarr, who are both flagged.

First rule of fantasy footy is you very rarely get a player in from the bench when you do want them in.

Palmer will start and Sarr will come on in the 93rd min for a 1 pointer.

Edi Howe only had 1 win v Bournemouth. I guess it will stay like glad. Glad I did not Captain Isak. Too many on the Palmer and Haaland Captain train in my mini-league.

Stupid that I didn’t change to Salah but that’s the game sadly. Went against my own rule of almost always captain Salah unless it’s exceptional circumstances.

Changed my captain from Isak to Salah this morning based on the early fixture alone. I feel justified, even if Salah blanks now..
