Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

So then.. any advice on who to replace Saka with?

I've got Palmer, Salah, Smith Rowe and Rogers. Was going to go with Mbeumo as the template solution but he's got a dreadful run of games coming up.
I went Sarr, has some great fixtures coming up and in form. But Bowen has a pretty good fixture this GW so can be a great differential. Maybe Jota or Diaz as well, but both can suddenly be rested vs Leicester.

Interesting... never saw Sarr as an FPL relevant player but he appears to have smashed it the last two weeks. I'm wary of doing anything too creative though. Everything I've tried this season has gone wrong and my rank is embarrassing.

Yeah this season has not been easy for "creative picks" as you say. But also, barring Salah, no player has been consistent, so that's why. Just try imo, after all, this game is basically 70% luck.

Forgot to do my team and not sure i would have gone with Palmer as captain against a solid Everton defence having also seen Spurs ship in 3 against us.

Yeah that's a good shout. He's been putting up some decent numbers lately and getting plenty of minutes.

He's on my list as a Shitoma replacement along with Maddison.

Evanilson has to go as well. Bournemouth are a good side who I've watched a fair bit of lately but the midfielders there do not pass the ball to him much. Semenyo and Kluivert are always looking to shoot.

Someone in my cash mini league who thought he was out of it already and was saving his chips for the cup (we also give a cash prize for the winner of that to keep people playing) scored 119 yesterday. Right back in it. I told him already that the AM chip will be a real game changer so not to give up.

I’ve managed to stay close to the top of my mini leagues without Salah so far this year but it’s starting to look impossible without him now. This week really killed me without having him.

Is there any info on how long will Saka be out?
Judging by the look on his face and the crutches, he should be missing this run of back to back fixtures, so I assume he will miss 3 games at the minimum.

But knowing Arteta that Lego Pep, it's just as likely that Saka has been sent to acting classes and was forced to use the crutches.

Saka to Palmer for me.

Anyone have any clue at all on what's happening with Cunha? Is he going to be available for the United game, do we think?

feck knows with the clowns at the FA. Probably all off now for the holidays. I've binned him anyway as Wolves fixtures are awful and so are they.

Thanks! FA leaving he work experience kid to make a call on it - everyone else has out of office on and on their fifth mulled wine.

I'm here with Pedro out to Jesus but I can't seem to pull the trigger. Fallen into the Jesus trap many times where you see him play 88 minutes, Arsenal 5-0 up and you frantically look through the scorers and his name is nowhere to be found.

Saka to Bruno definitely happening though.

Already did Van Hecke to Milenkovic and with the news about saka - might do Saka to Son as i already have Palmer, Salah, Rogers and Bruno.

I've gone from Saka and Greaves to Fernandes and van Dijk for a -4.

Probably gonna go back to Saka and Mykolenko/another 4 million defender when the former returns from injury, but the big issue is that I still haven't got rid of Strand Larsen as a result of Saka's injury.

I have had him for last 3 GW and he got 1,1,1

See, that's why they're due a few clean sheets, especially with the favourable fixtures that they have coming up. Although I think Arsenal have the best defense in the league, just edging Liverpool's.

Went Saka and Van den Berg to Sarr and TAA.

Thinking of getting a -4 to go Strand Larsen or Delap to Jesus/Havertz now for their home game against Ipswich and then Jesus/Havertz to Solanke next week for their home game against Wolves. Is Havertz playing as a 10 now that Jesus is back?

Should I just buy Bruno? I was going to but then someone on here said he's been playing deeper than expected. Doesn't seem to have stopped him getting returns.

This certainly seems like an idea.

I am lost between Bruno and Sarr personally.

For clarity, is everyone talking about Sarr from Crystal Palace? Who has 4 goals and 3 assists and preceded his recent consecutive returns with 10 blanks in 11 weeks?

3rd highest scoring defender in the game so far?

Ashley Young

Mad game this one

Haha yes.. But Palace as a team are starting to click going forward and he seems to have developed a good blend with Mateta.

Palace soon have a run of good fixtures too

Need to use the wildcard this week or next. But Haaland has Everton and Ipswich up next and it's his value you'd expect to re-distribute.
With no Saka, the most obvious route of those funds have gone.
Cunha and Bartolo the obvious 2 to get out asap.

Who do people think are essential on a wildcard now, that aren't in the below?

Sanchez Hendo
Saliba Hall Maz Robinson Bartolo
Salah Palmer Enzo Amad Rogers
Haaland Wood Cunha

Cunha to Jesus probably wouldn't be a bad move next week if doing a single. But then Liverpool have Leicester H which has to be a smashfest.

Isak and Trent and if you’re WC then I’d also go Gabriel over Saliba.

It’s all about form and fixtures in FPL. Look at Haaland. He was at 75% ownership during the first 3 weeks but is now at 35% ownership.

Yep, good shout on the latter. Saliba did score in 2 successive goals, but one of those literally went in off his ass when he was looking the other direction!
When Gabbers is about, Saliba never gets near it.

Isak's fixtures tighten up a little now is the only concern.

Be interesting to see all the Saka plans now. Many will want to keep the same number of Arsenal assets so do they go like for like with Odegaard, or take a possible points hit to add another defender or the inform Jesus.

In my case im considering a -4 of Saka and Wissa to Son and Jesus. Leaves me 0 in the bank so might need to make the move soon before price changes.

Current squad

Raya
TAA Gabriel Hall
Salah, Palmer, Saka, Amad, Enzo
Isak, Pedro

Fabianski, Wissa, Ait-Nouri, Greaves

Villa, United and Spurs aren’t great defensively. They may not win all three games but can they score in all three? Absolutely. And usually if they do Isak is involved.

It's a shame City's next 2 aren't the other way round.
Everton are on a bit of a shut out of better teams, whereas Ipswich look ripe for an absolute obliteration.

It's whether tidying up the overall lineup outdoes anything Haaland might do in that Ipswich game.

Thinking like this made me hold on to Haaland for waaaaay longer than I should have. The minute I got rid of him, I basically doubled my rank within 2-3 gameweeks. You'll just have to accept that you may lose some points but at the same time, the players you bring in should be able to cover (Isak has for me). Plus, Haaland low owned now and also Salah is usually the better captain.

Stop being a pussy and sell him basically.

This week or next?
This week has Liverpool v Leicester which if they don't go mental with rotations could be a smashfest.

I would personally like to play Haaland for that Leicester game, that's where he may return big. If you can have that game, it might be worth holding actually. But at the same time, Everton been solid with the shut-outs so it would be another potential week where you have a £15m returning 2 points. But if you are well set up to hold off one more week, go for it.

The problem is that the wildcard expires in week 19, so holding Haaland means limited use of the wildcard and inability to re-distribute.

Oh! If you have to use it this week then Haaland out mate. He might bang against Leicester but hardly anyone active owns him so wont punish. But at the same time, I have been getting unlucky all season so far so I can't really give advice with a straight face!

City are like a coiled spring. You know they are going to bounce sometime. No better time than Everton at home and Leicester away. I will trust Haaland for those 2 fixtures. And he is the differential. Looks like all the top teams and top “influencers” have Isak, Salah, Palmer, Trent and Gabriel now.
