Fantasy Premier League 2024/25

Brought in Stand Larsen for Ndiaye last night before the price rise. I know I'm gonna regret not getting Cunha but that extra £1m plus opens up so many juicier midfield options for my next move.

Probably going to be Trent and Carvalho to Hall and Johnson which will leave me looking like this next weekend

Rogers Johnson Mbeumo Palmer Salah
Haaland Wood Strand Larsen

Larsen isn't a bad pick, despite all the hype around Cunha he's only 4 points behind him and costs a million less.

Plus he will be more involved playing that #9 now that thery face easier teams going forward.

Living the FPL nightmare these days. Every decision made since WC6 has backfired in the ugliest ways.

FYI: I'm going to hold on to Haaland and will not touch Salah. I would recommend doing the opposite. Good luck!

Yeah, close one for me on Strand Larsen v Cunha too. Very neglible difference on actual points, but went with Cunha for the superior xGI stuff, most of it coming from xA.

Cuhna could be on pens but I don't think it's to be relied on. 3rd in the list according to the official scout thing behind Hwang and Sarabia who aren't always on the pitch for them so far this season.

If I'd have gone Strand Larsen it would have opened up Johnson > Son at some point but that's off the cards for now. Was looking at Raul Jimenez and Wissa as well.

Anyway:
Sanchez Fabianski
TAA Gabriel Konate Lewis Greaves
Salah Palmer Mbeumo Johnson Rogers
Jackson Cuhna Wood

0 FTs, 2.4m ITB.

Think the next thing is to look at that defence. TAA very possibly out soon due to lack of attacking returns, Lewis now a big minutes risk, Gabriel not exactly relaible lately. Can reach Sonny or Saka anyway if moving TAA out but my current midfield is ticking along well anyway so not essential. KDB / Foden / Bruno always possibles at some point too. Might even want to go back to a more expensive frontline by then anyway. The likes of Solanke, Isak, Havertz etc.

Got 3 FTs and my team needs a revamp, going to wait till close to the deadline so I don't get the usual shafting though.

So many problem players to deal with. Diaz, Konate, Amad are the 3 I most want to change, but finding value when changing all 3 is tough. Rogers seems nailed as a cheap option, then it starts to become tough.

Damn, I was planning to hold Haaland too. Might need a rethink!

Kudos to anyone that has the balls to dump Haaland and spread the funds around. You can absolutely stack that midfield.

It's not for me though personally. Him, Salah and Palmer are the only 3 players in the game that terrify me when I don't own them. All of them have ridiculous haul potential on a weekly basis. Probably won't lose any of them now unless they get injured.

I want to do Haaland to Cunha/Larsen, but I wouldn't spread the money to stack the midfield. Because there is no need. Due to teams having no clean sheets, I already have extra money from not going for premium defenders. Other than Salah and Palmer, which high price midfielder do you need? Saka at most, even Arsenal are not in the best of the form.
The guys in form are the likes of Mbeumo, Rogers, Johnson and they are not super costly.

Haaland/Salah/Palmer I really would struggle to want rid of.

The rest can be spread around.

I’ve already done
Raya -> Sels

Forest have one of the best xGA in the league and he’s so much cheaper I’d rather just save the money and punt on them.

Then thinking:
Gabriel -> Dalot
Wheatley -> Wood

Would be another -8 hit but then I don’t see anything major I’d want to change for future weeks then.

Thoughts?

Mbeumo and Jimenez and not a single goal or assist between them. Time to take a Welbeck or Wolves punt.

I was thinking Dalot earlier too, but I'm still leaning towards Someguy.

Big pro for Dalot is that the first thing Amorim did at Sporting was get them defending right, even at the cost of some attacking verve. If he takes the same approach here, one of our defenders would probably be a better shout for that run than an attacking players, and Dalot is really the only defender you can count on to stay fit. And obviously he'd be able to get forward more.

Forest fixtures turn ugly soon, I had Wood since GW1 and think I might even offload him soon, got a feeling this ship has sailed for all the returns he got so far

Go check Forrest upcoming fixtures.

Some guy?

My thoughts are Dalot has best fixture run and we’ve actually been ok in defence this season. He’s also got himself quite high up the pitch in the odd moment with chances to score plus he’s a bonus point collector.

Downside is he plays for United.

The other player I’m considering is Garnacho. But for the life of me I can’t rely on our attack. It’s just pitiful.

I’ve been saying that about Wood since GW1.

I’ve been regretting Muniz over Wood ever since.

Last season Wood got 14 goals in 31 apps so he’s got previous.

It’s down to:
Wood
Welbeck
Wissa
Evanilson

I don’t have any Brighton or Forest attacking coverage so more tempted by those two.

Wissa would be a double up with Mbeumo
Evanilson a double up with Semenyo

Is Van Den Berg really about to get a CS in an away game after conceding 3 at home to Ipswich?

Go check Forrest upcoming fixtures.
I know they’ve got:
New H
Ars A
Ips H
Mci A
Mun A
Villa H

I only really see City A as a bad fixture. Rationale is Newcastle haven’t been on top form, Ipswich aren’t high xG and nor are we.

Plus they’ve shown they can beat most sides on their day.

Also the £1m saving gives me room to invest elsewhere.

If United look good in defence I can move Sels to Onana.

Some guy as in, it's only a defender so why not spend as little mind and money as possible on whoever because they'll only let you down anyway. The Arsenal defence may have caused some deep-seated psychological damage there...

Depends where you're starting from I suppose.

With cheap defenders something along these lines is doable. Forget the exact choice of defenders, just an example:

In future weeks, depending on fixtures could go Mbeumo + Saka > Bruno + KDB or similar if they were playing better.

Jackson > Wood, Archer > someone who starts as altenatives up top to give 3 nailed starters although you're not going to be rotating that midfield anyway so it isn't really necessary.

You're 100% right about cheaper options firing in midfield so you could go with those like you say. You could use that to pile in on pricier forwards. The cheaper midfielders are doing well, but so are cheaper forwards. Could put the cash into either or somewhere in between.

Unfortunately I have money locked into a relatively expensive defence. All that Haaland > Cuhna & Dibling > Salah did is switch me from a Haaland team to a Salah one, gave me 0.3 ITB and more flexibility. No big players coming in. Was never going to start Dibling, he was just perma sub. Now I have a front 8 to choose from and a decent sub with Greaves out injured, Lewis a minutes risk. Dibling himself was benched at the weekend too.

Oh see what you mean.

Yeah my master plan of Arsenal has been a shocker I’ve given up on defence this season it’s too annoying to try and find any trends and positives so cheap rotations for best fixtures is the way forward for me.

Then stack mid and attack with best in form and highest xG and xA earners.

Salah captain and 10 blanks another great week of fpl.

Robinson you beauty. Won my H2H Tie with his 97min assist in most dramatic fashion.

Like the lad. Only 4.7, nailed and always involved in attacking play.
