Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Looks likely that Bruno and KDB will rise tonight or tomorrow which is a ball ache. Will probably mean the difference between Robertson and TAA on a wildcard which on current form is not that big a deal I guess.

73 points and Havertz > James Rodriguez for me this week is an obvious move.

I probably want to wildcard in GW3 after City v Wolves and Liverpool v Chelsea are out the way, Auba is of no more use and we get another week to look at some players and confirm who's nailed.

Playing around I quite like the look of this as it covers a lot of bases...

McCarthy (fodder)

James / Robertson or TAA / Lamptey / Ayling / Ferguson or Mitchell

Bruno / Salah / Sterling or KDB / Podence / Bissouma

Werner / Richarlison / Brewster

Werner picked up injury? Just when i put him instead of Kane. I think that he will bang goals this season. Adapted quickly on PL .

I would love to have Digne in my team but I simply can't afford him at 6.0.

Do we think Coleman at 5.0 is a good alternative?

Why Richarlison instead of DCL? He's cheaper and will almost certainly score more from a central role than Richarlison will from the wing.

I am almost settled on my team now. Only dillemma is whether to keep Tierney for now as he's playing West Ham or swap him to Coady/Saiss already and save myself a future transfer. Saiss is obviously unplayable this week with City on schedule but I could put Ollie Watkins into the team as he might do something on his debut, or even upgrade Ollie to Wilson for now with easier game on schedule. Then again Tierney may be nearly guaranteed 6 points this week.

I'm not so sure he will. Just like the look of him more but admit it would be an easier decision if he were classed as a mid still. I guess the £1m saving could go towards turning Bissouma into Harrison, James into Digne or even McCarthy into a good goalkeeper. Something to ponder and I'll use the West Brom game to decide. Also want to see how Rashford starts against Palace as I'm considering him over Bruno this season if he can regain his sharpness.

Swapped Gabriel and Bellerin. It seems that Bellerin is very close to leaving and Gabriel's price will go up

78 points. Quite happy with the gameweek itself, but quite annoyed I didn't think ahead as well as I first thought. My team is just not very good for GW2, and a single transfer won't change that. So either I save my transfer for 1 more week and hope for the best this gameweek, or I take a hit already. None of the options are very tempting, but I simply have to get rid of Mitrovic for example. Which means I'll perhaps have to take a hit in GW2 anyway to accommodate both United, City and getting rid of Mitro.

Not sure why you simply have to get rid of Mitrovic based on a game where he barely played. He's got a decent run of fixtures now and will surely play.

Finished with 69 which I’m semi happy with. Changed Captain to Auba from Salah on Saturday morning which is tedious but ah well.

Definitely need to sack off Egan (I don’t think Sheff United will be as defensively strong as last season), Son (good way of bringing in a City/United guy).

Anyone got any advice?

Schmeichel (Ryan)

TAA Justin KWP Egan (Branthwaite)

Salah Auba Son SaintMax (Burke)

DCL Werner (Brewster)

My bench is fairly weak given none of the three played at all.

Also - Fantasy Draft

What happens now this gameweek has finished? It’s a league of myself and three of my friends and I’m going to be deadlast now. So need to get ahead of the game. When can I pick up those on the free agency?

Shaw + Saiss + James + Wilson or

Tierney + Dallas + Castagne + Watkins

I got the impression that he's been used as a sub since the end of last season? I'm sure he'll get minutes, but sub appearences isn't really what I'm looking for with Brewster as the other cheap option. Do you reckon he'll start the coming games?

I can afford to do Mitro to DCL, and I have to say I'm tempted. But then I can say goodbye to the "planning ahead" strategy i promised myself I'd follow.

I hate doing a wildcard as its back to that awful situation of changing your team every day. I've ended up with the below and I've got bored so it'll do....for now.

Pickford (Nyland)
Dallas, KWP, Robertson, Justin, Mitchell
KDB, Bruno, Willian, Greenwood, ASM
Werner, Martial, Davis

After my Wolves boys didn't play I'm pulling the trigger on an early wildcard. Have two templates, both removing TAA as it looks like Liverpool's defence will concede a lot more this season:

A) 4-4-2
Pickford, (4.0m GK)
Gabriel, R.James, Digne, Justin, (Dallas)
Auba, Salah, Bruno, J.Rodriguez, (4.5m Mid)
Martial, Mitrovic, (4.5m ST)

Or could downgrade Digne to Coleman in order to have a better bench midfielder who can also rotate as all the 4.5m options are garbage.

B) 4-3-3
Pickford, (4.0m GK)
Gabriel, R.James, Digne, Justin, (Dallas)
Auba, Salah, Bruno, (Hendrick), (4.5m Mid)
Martial, DCL, Mitrovic

In order to swap Hendrick/Mitrovic based on fixtures.

Mitrovic is still a gamble but I can't see Parker now not starting him after they were so toothless in the opener. Alternatively could downgrade him in either template and upgrade the last midfielder.

Auba would be changed to KDB or Sterling after GW2 after City play Wolves, probably to Sterling as he's less likely to rise and then would have an extra 0.5m to play with rather than a useless 0.4m.

Both look good but I'll go with the first one.
Leaning same direction to be honest. More rotation risk but Wilson over Watkins is way more proof as Wilson will definitely get those 8-10 goals and Watkins could end up with very few (+ having two Villa offensive players with him and Grealish seems overboard).

McCarthy / Nyland
Digne / James / Shaw / Saiss / Mitchell
Auba / KDB / Fernandes / Rodriguez / Grealish
DCL / Wilson / Brewster

Who is Mitchell's rival for left back spot? That 4mil looks bargain for him. I have Werner, Bruno, Martial, ASM and Kdb too. But i opted for Salah as 4th and Stephens for 4,5mil

72 points but I’ve still decided to play my wild card. Naby Keita, Adama Traore, Antonio, TAA, Havertz, Werner and more all gone from my team. Really impulse decision but Chelsea’s display really put me off last night, think they’ll take time to settle. Keita not a sure starter and subbed off for Liverpool on the weekend, Antonio probably won’t score many as West Ham are dire... The rest just made way for more ‘sure’ performers from their clubs. TAA an unfortunate sacrifice as I think he will get the assists again. Rashford and Martial in for the weekend!

He's not a sub, he's by far their best player. I think he had knock at the end of last season and I'll eat my hat if he doesn't start the next game. DCL has a good fixture though in a better team so can't knock the transfer in itself.

Getting rid of TAA does mean you can get at least 3/4 premium players in attack and midfield. Don't think this is the year for defences. I think the lack of crowd makes games less tight and compact.

Thanks.. I'm as knee jerk as they come early on every season, so some calming words are very much appreciated! DCL can be a part of a mini-wildcard before round three if Mitro doesn't start this weekend anyway. And if he doesn't, I want evidence of hat-eating.

I agree but TAA was more in for his assists, not clean sheet capability.

I'm definitely considering keeping him and just having some 4.5m defenders, bumping up the midfielders with the money saved.

My knees are starting to wobble a bit and need someone to calm me down as I have been doing for others over the last two days

If I stay still, I'll be priced out of Auba and Son out to KDB and Bruno.

I have a few options:

1. Take the minus 4 and do the swap now
2. Remove Salah for Bruno and at least cushion that part. Then drop Auba for KDB/Sterling after Arsenal play Moyes Ham. Then drop Son and bring Salah back after they play Chelsea and Arsenal. This requires Son to not drop in price and Salah not to rise.
3. Do nothing and change my plans. E.g. instead of Auba and Son to Bruno and KDB for GW3, I can instead do maybe Auba and Son to Rashford and KDB...

The problem is Rashford hasn’t been himself since coming back from his injury so I think I’ll leave it until I see him play before putting him in.

Which is why he should wait until after GW2 to do anything at all. If he still looks knackered/out of form, the decision is even tougher though. But then again, Greenwood might play a blinder instead.

Got a feeling Greenwood might be the best value for money this season, he can only improve on last season which bodes well for us.

Yeah, I agree with this. IF he plays a lot, that is. If he's rotated, 7.5 is suddenly very expensive.

3. Rashford + KDB/Sterling GW3.

McCarthy

That's where my head is at.

I don't have to get Rashy. There's also Greenwood, Rodriguez, Pulisic, Ziyech etc. I can even downgrade Son to Greenwood and maybe move Mitrovic to Martial if value allows it...

Granted I did rubbish this week but why is there so much kneejerking? One week's worth of data is not enough to make wholesale changes. I wouldn't be playing a wildcard, or even taking a hit until at least GW3.
