Sometimes thinking about it deeply do not help.

For me it was always going to be a question of do I sell Phillips to TAA with Phillips ruled out. Or use the money to go Son to Bruno.

I start regret getting TAA cause Liverpool do not keep that many clean sheets, but he is one of the best defenders in attack. Although getting Greenwood over Bruno might work if we do not get pens and Greenwood play 70+ minutes most weeks.

I have wanted to get Bruno for weeks and it is why I did pick Phillips over TAA in the first place to free up money.
Might do Salah to Bruno for the double we will have though.

I'm in one league where the guy took my advice to take hits out of the cup matchups, but he didn't apply the same thing to his manager of the month awards.

Mad really, as in effect someone who had no chance of the big prizes, could just make 11 transfers each week to in effect have a wildcard every week, and then win the manager of the month £30!
 
Just had a random thought - remember when Lamptey was "doubtful" for the next game.
He never did come back did he, and he's out for the season.

Strongly looks like Grealish is in that boat too. But we'll see.

Ferguson for Palace too. Would have been a similar 4m starter to the guy on the left, but he'll have spent the whole season out. Madness.

No, shouldn't think so.
I've kept Kane and expect him to be only cameo level at best in the final, and then back for the Sheff Utd game.
Can't risk ankles, they're not like a tight muscle, there's very little scope for pushing them, especially with Kane's back catalogue.

I expect Raphina will be back nicely for their good run last few games.
 
The player 3rd in my league didn't seem too fussed at their threadbare squad.

Just a single transfer made, and looks like fielding 8 max. Very bizarre strategy.

Interesting mix of the rest, be it ditching Kane or Son, or taking a -4.

Guy 40 points behind took a -4 for Greenwood in for Son, and Salah in for KDB.

Everyone captained Salah funnily enough!

Quite dodgily I therefore need Jota and TAA to smash it, and for my 5 man defence to produce some joy!

Remember a couple of years ago when people captained Brighton's Duffy when they had 2 poor teams at home in a double :lol:
Think it was one of the biggest fails in fantasy footy history.

I figured that not having Kane next week to captain could be one place where things go badly wrong, so I just -4’d. Obviously that means Trent is still my big missing player.

That gives me the following 7 potential doublers in GW35: Mendy, Azpi, Castagne, Rudi, Bruno, Greenwood, Nacho, all of whom would then blank in GW36. Hopefully by next deadline we have some more fixture news. I’ll probably look to get DCL and JWP at least in for the doubles too.

A lot of fantasy footy is covering risks, and playing the percentages.
On paper, him v Sheff Utd would be a huge risk to take.

In reality he might be injured/get injured etc, but it's probably safest to play it safe.

If it does pan out that he's injured, we can just get on Vardy next week, safe in it being risk free.

All I know is that any transfers now have to be with doublers in mind. Although a lot of the doubles aren't exactly sure things, either being Chelsea in between euro semi finals, or having one game against a big team.

Haha yeah. My mate did captain Dunk on his free hit. 1 points lost to Kane, but Veltman who he also got would have been better from the Brighton Def.

I'm sure a guy at work captained Vidic on a double cleany where he scored, one year. 50 or so points if I remember correctly.
And of course we remember that Stones 2 goaler - the guy in 3rd in my league basically held position in the top 2 for 2months since because of captaining Stones that week, before now fading!

But generally it's madness.

Just out of interest what’s everyone’s total transfers made?

I’m on 48 which I think is far too much. 48 transfers minus the 33 freebies give me 15 hits. 60pts... if I’m working that all out correctly.
 
Quite funny reverting back to my normal squad and seeing half of them expected to drop in price tonight. Fixtures look great for 34 as well. Already got a benching headache.

Seems a lot in my ml too are prepared to field 9 players rather than take hits to remove the likes of Cresswell and Raphinha.
 
Nearly everyone in my league (except me and one other guy) took out Kane for Vardy. Really really need Vardy to blank now.

Yeah, agreed. This season has been a long slog from a poor start and early wildcard, but it is going pretty well. I don’t want to throw it all away now. My two goals now are A) Top 10k finish (15.4k currently) and B) Top 10 in Caf league (18th currently).

Mindset at the moment is to bring in DCL and JWP as non-blanking doublers over next two weeks, then look to sell Azpi, Castagne and possibly Bruno for a -8 after the doubles, to carry Rudi, Mason and Nacho through the blank. I could pretty much have my pick of defenders and midfielders at that point with those three transfers.

While just having any old chumps to make up 11 is probably overrated, purposely going in with 9 seems pretty risky.
Add in rotations, and blanks, and could be a real gamechanging low.

I had JWP for a few weeks and he did me no good. But the double before, he hauled. Just one of those luck things.

I just hope for some reason they drag some of those doubles out a bit later, not all in week 35. Make it harder with a 2 chip rival who is only 40 behind.

Just hope I can stretch that lead out a bit before hand.

I’ve taken 72 points in hits, so 18 hits. 15.4 k overall right now. Given how many doubles and blanks there has been this season, it hasn’t felt that aggressive. I’m generally someone who heavily targets the doubles and looks to maximise their number of appearances.

(As a rule, I am but) I was honestly just curious.

I had a choice of 3, Bruno, Salah or Ian Nacho. I've gone Salah, guy top/above me Bruno.

Hopefully a better week than last week. It's taken me 14 weeks to get from 16th to 2nd (and 20ish points from top). After last week, where I lost 10-20 points on most of the top.7, it's;

If they are pushing back fixtures for all teams to have one game in front of fans, the only two real options for scheduling as Crellin points out still involve you targeting the same teams.



JWP is very underrated in FPL. Literally as nailed as it gets and accumulates points steady. I think only Dallas, Cresswel and Gundo are the only three outfielders cheaper than him to outscore him. Had him for the last double where he scored twice. Sort of player that just doesn’t quite make the cut normally, but on a limited double he’s a very good option.

I've still kept him. Like you said he's a steady points scorer and nailed. Best set piece taker in the league as well.
 
Frig sake Arsenal, damn Holding cleany gone. Looked so safe as it was all Arsenal as well.

And damn VAR giving me a small hope even though it looked well on!

Just glad a rival had DCL and Saka in their EIGHT man team, and blanked on both!
 
Decent enough start with Digne doing the business on my FT this week.
