Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Just trying to plan ahead for the next GW.

My current line up is:

Martinez
Cancelo, Stones, Shaw
Soucek, Maddison, Salah, Bruno (c)
DCL, Watkins, Antonio​

Subs: Meslier, Son, Justin, Dallas

I've got 2 transfers so I will use at least one of them. Even though he has a DGW, I'm considering taking out Stones for a Burnley defender. With Laporte now back, I can see Pep rotating and Stones not being a shoe-in to start. I could also upgrade Stones to Dias but I like the Burnley fixtures with Palace and Fulham. Thoughts on that or other potential transfer options?

I'm taking a -4 to bring in Pope for Forster and Lowton for Chilwell.

But I'll wait until the DGW26 fixtures are announced before confirming...

I was thinking about bringing Pope in for Meslier as I never play him but Martinez has Brighton which is a pretty good single fixtures. Lowton is their right back?

Although I missed it, having just got back from a runand took until 12.34 to get the game on. Will take it though!

feck Lowton will go up in price tonight. But I don't want to transfer early. Arrgh.

As for Pope, Martinez does have Brighton but Pope has a nice double followed by West Brom.
 
Left Traore on my bench, fuming. Was convinced I brought him in this morning.

I have Watkins in my draft league though, so pleased.

Having Pope and Martinez feels like overkill though. Hmm with those fixtures I'll have to find a Burnley defender to bring in. Feck it, I'll make that Lowton transfer later today provided he doesn't get dropped/injured in their game today.

I've now got Mendy and Pope. I'll field Mendy this week, and Pope next week.
But you're right, two higher priced keepers is usually madness - but personally, I'll switch one back down to a cheaper guy - probably McCarthy 4.6m for their double.


Having a look at the doubles over the next 2 weeks, I'll have 3 transfers for free. Two I'll probably allocate to the two Southampton players - the rest I have in place already. Maybe squeeze Dallas in for Leeds too, but that depends on whether United do have a double in week 26 or not.

Week 24
City - 3 players
Burnley - Pope
Everton - DCL
Fulham - no-one

Week 25
Leeds - Bamford
Southampton - McCarthy, Ings (choice of which keeper to remove, unless values change then needs to be Pope out, and Ings in for DCL)

Week 26 - will be interesting as any FA cup winners may have their Week 29 game moved here.
Could well be doubles for City, United, Southampton etc.

Depends on your strategy. I have tonnes of cash and am building for the D/BGWs with an eye to bench boost. I will then WC out of that in GW30.

My only concern is that if I get in Pope, I'll have no way to get Kane for the double 26.

I might just wait and think about it.

Kane will always be a 2 transfer away from getting in, just need to carve a few mill off a big hitter.
Or a wildcard, as long as you have a bench boost to sort out the flimsy week around the fa cup later on.

If they weren't in such woeful form, missing Kane and playing such "Jose-ball", he'd be a superb choice.
May still pay off though. I have him, just not as captain.

Only reason I went for Bruno was because I thought Antonio would be most popular choice. I look at my work league, and everyone around me went for Bruno as well.
Annoyed - thought he wasn't the most obvious pick.
 
I had Watkins all throughout the festive period when Villa had a long green run.

Did feck all.

He's a funny one. I watch every Villa game, and he should by right have double the goals. Bar, post, VAR, offside, pen misses etc.
Today he's probably finished his one chance. Bit lucky that went in though!

Fancy him for two today though, Grealish assist would be perfect.

Just figured it would be the ideal game for them to bounce back, and if they score Son will be involved.

Did you go Bruno? His EO % is ridiculouly high yet again :nervous:

Yep. Bruno this week. He's not always the best captain choice in fairness, but he's probably the most influential player in the league and can double digit even when not playing well.
 
Watkins can be a nightmate to own. He gets a plethora of chances every game, yet the guy literally invents new ways to miss chance after chance.

Haven't checked any stats but I bet he's hit the woodwork the most this season.

Regarding my fantasy team, I swapped out Chiwell for Crestwell in my starting 11. Thinking of swapping out Salah for Bruno but knowing my luck, Salah will probably score a hat-trick against City and Bruno will blank.

Yeah I went with a 4 point hit in the end. Walker-Peters either plays or I get zero points from one defender because his replacement on the bench is Chilwell.

I wouldn't dream about replacing Bruno, if I were you. In from day one and I haven't once thought about replacing him.

I had a look and he's joint top, hitting the woodwork 5 times alongside Trossard and Werner

Unusual for Watkins as his misses normally ruin it

Grealish seemed to get booked for getting fouled at the end!

Oh well, 11 between the two is ok.

Unbelievable isn’t he. Had him from their first game and I can’t understand why anyone would have someone else at this point. Could say the same about me not having Justin though in fairness.

My rival got in Pope (and benched Martinez) for what looks like a sure clean sheet. Martinez has just given me a good start.

Justin is a bit more difficult to bank on because everyone kept thinking he'd eventually lose his place to Ricardo and Castagne but he's been getting hitmen to beat those two up on the way home so they keep getting injured.
 
Perfect start for me. Grealish blanks. Watkins goal and 3 points bonus and Martinez clean sheet and 2 points bonus.
 
Pope better keep a clean sheet and make about 20 saves now. Stupid to think Arsenal were capable of scoring, Konsa benched too

People seem to forget both his rivals are specialist right backs. Castagne can play left side, but looks much better on the right.
