Fantasy Premier League 20/21

He's certainly been looking a lot more forward thinking this last few weeks.
Will wait until after the fa cup and he's top of my list.
Maddison appeal reduces a bit with Vardy out.

Would have to do two transfers to get Salah in so may see out his next hard games until the other side of the city game.
Has been getting forward more, but will he continue with De Bruyne out, or will Bernardo get that role now, with Gundogan dropping deeper again?

If Gundo can go forward with KDB in there, you'd imagine it'd stay the same with anyone replacing KDB.

However, I'll weigh up Sterling/Foden as well as Gundo.
May even ride the transfer to get two to bring Salah in part of a two transfer freebie.

No rush to decide.
A 0.1m or 0.2m swing is way less important than any risk of someone being out before the game.

So no Sterling or Gundogan. This doesn't help deciding. Wanted to see Sterling play and score a few to pick him.

So Southampton merked up Arsenal and therefore Southampton and Leeds won't have a DGW anytime soon... Time to kick Che Adams the feck out of me team that smelly cnut.

If you have WC and are looking for differential, get Sterling.

If you are doing well already then get Gundogan.
What's the rationale behind doing certain transfers (or not) depending on whether you have the WC or not? (Curious as my use of chips is haphazard with no real thought).

I'll be getting rid of KdB which will give me a shedload of cash and I can make 3 transfers and get 3 good players in... which is -8.

There are a couple of others that I'd change if I had the chance bit haven't yet as they're ok and changing them is -4.

So, question... what's the downside of using the WC chip now? Using the KdB money and making 5 or 6 changes (based on form, upcoming fixtures)?

Why would you make a few transfers, not use the WC and take the -4, -8, -12? What would you be saving the WC for exactly/what future situation? (again, generally curious).

How is it possible that I got a green arrow and an improvement in OR from before the Liverpool game to after it when I had 0 players playing in that game. Surely the only possibility should be my rank getting worse as other would have players from that game? Seems a bit broken.

I typically plan to use my wildcards just before/after blank or double gameweeks. Just gives me more flexibility to maximize those weeks.

Already using it this week. Had both Vardy and KDB and I have to bring in some city players ahead of their easy fixtures. Which will definitely take -12 . Would rather use WC now than taking a hit of 12.

I can't understand how I managed to escape total landslip this gameweek getting so little from my captain. It looks like I will still be in top 20 000 (maybe even 15 000 after tonight) and going through in the cup with Gearlish still to play.

Now I got problem. Both Vardy and DeBruyne injuried. I took chance now to replace DeBruyne with Sterling and question is, do I take -4 to change Vardy to some other forward? I'm not in desperatly need because I'm going 3-5-2 next week but tempted to take him out and put in Calwert Lewin, Ings, Werner or Maupay.

KDB replacement? Have the cash for Salah/Mane straight swap. Maddison is an option but Vardy is injured. Gundogan/Sterling without KDB is also a risk. Literally zero appealing options. Liverpool are bound to start scoring again sooner rather then later aren't they?

Sorry I didn't word it properly. I don't mean use the wild card to bring in sterling. I meant that if you have your wildcard, you can punt on Sterling with a standard transfer and use him through man city's easy fixtures then wildcard him out around the time of the next DGW. So that way you'll own him for that sweet set of fixtures he has coming up and if it doesn't work out, it's an easy out. But this is only worth it if you are trying to catch points.

Glad to see Watkins score for first time in ages. Shame the top 4 in my league all have him now.

Big gain is something from Grealish. Fingers crossed.
Could do with Villa conceding as well really.

Left Targett on the bench instead of Bamford. Brutal.

Obviously expected them to get beaten by City so was weighing up a potential Bamford haul against Brighton vs a Targett clean sheet against Newcastle. Was very 50/50 right up to the wire.. but obviously make the wrong choice and getting a classic FPL outcome with Leeds having their worst performance of the season, whilst Targett gets injured early enough to sneak a clean sheet in a 2-0 defeat to City and now bags his second assist of the season.

Could be a -16 point decision. Frustrating.

That is bad luck, but you went for the attacking asset which is usually the percentage play.
You can't legislate for that ridiculous Targett haul! It's along the lines of Stones with his 2 goaler.

We have a £5 prize for top points of the season in our league. (High stakes ;) )

Two of us have jumped to the top of the league, and currently both sit on 140

We both have Watkins

I have Grealish
She has Darlow & Wilson

Talk about finely poised.

If it stays 2-0, we'll both finish on 146 if Watkins keeps his 3 bonus, but if Darlow makes a couple of saves he'll get a 1 point save point to push her clear :o

Need something else from Grealish, for him to get into the bonus, or Newcastle to concede a couple more/Wilson or Darlow to get booked.

Got Watkins in for the first time this year, perfect timing. Grealish assist is nice too.

Still have lots of problems in my team at the moment though. Want to bring in Gundogan for KDB but it’s going to leave me with 6.8m in the bank which seems so wrong. Took too many hits in the first half of the season so fighting the urge to take a hit to make use of the funds now

Not for me.

My cup opponent has Targett, Martinez and Grealish.

Let's hope they concede then. Ideally not from Wilson - anyone else! Although I'd need Grealish to get another assist to counter balance the lost cleany point!

I can see the way my battle for top score is going - that Darlow is going to scrape a point for saves isn't he!

Bloody heck, that save by Darlow on 93:40 is his 3rd save, so i lose out on top score by 1 point
Can't make it up - but I did see that happening.

Never mind.
143 or 144 over and out, depending on whether they give Watkins a bonus 1 or not. Seems to keep changing.

Yeah, that's where I was coming from. I've got KdB and Kane (Spurs fixture list coming up is tough) so will definitely drop KdB, maybe both. This will give me a chunk of cash (already got 0.7m spare) so can do a lot with it. Hence thinking of using WC to make 4 (or more) changes now and avoid minus points.

I get it could also be used later in the season for potential DGWs but I think that using it for a few changes now could take advantage of the decent fixture lists coming up for Villa, Leeds, Palace, Leic, City, United and the points gained from these 'easier' fixtures could be worth more than a WC in a future DGW.

It also gives me the ability to have a better team and bench, which will help for when I use bench boost (in bold).

Bin KdB and my fringe players (Bowen, Mendy, Forster) for Meslier and 3 out of Pogba, Gundogan, Grealish and Maddison (Leeds, United, City, Villa, Leic all with decent fixture list in next few games... Leic and Villa ranked 1st/2nd easiest in next 10 games). Takes me to;

Martinez Meslier

Dias Stones Ayling Justin Bednarek

Bruno Rashford Grealish Gundogan Maddison/Pogba

Watkins Kane Bamford

(3 Villa, 3 City, 3 Leeds, 2/3 United, 1/2 Leic, 1 S'ton)

I think I’ve scraped through.

he’s beat me on points for the week but he’s got a -8 for transfers and I think I’m only 3 behind.

Crossed fingers for an hour

So for us Wilson owners what do we do? Do we wait one week and bench Wilson vs Leeds. Play him vs Leeds and maybe keep if they get going? Or sell him now?

With KDB out I feel like taking a -4 for Kane, Antonio, Ings is probably not worth it looking at the fixtures.

Should be comfy.
Can't believe that Villa shot in the 94th was so flimsy and allowed Darlow an easy 1 point save!
Still annoyed that Son to Kane combo didn't produce a goal in the 93rd min of the Tottenham game either. And the 2 De Bruyne pen scenarios - Sterling stealing it and missing (to rule out the KDB assist) and them getting one after he'd limped off.

Oh well.

You surely give him one last game v Leeds. But he looks crap as do Newcastle.

Main call this next game week then is

1)KDB out to who?

Gundo, Maddison, Rashford, Foden, or Sterling.

2)Which 1 to bench out of Dier (home to Pool), Coufal (away to Palace), or Justin (away to Everton). Stones & Dias have to play, as do all of the mid and attack, unless I leave the KDB transfer a week.

Question ourselves and ask wtf we wee doing getting him in.

That’s the second time this season I’ve went and transfered him in and I have no idea why.

He played vs Sheffield that is why. Then he had a double so -4 for Antonio did not feel worth it.
Now I have a problem benching players.

Salah, Wilson, Saka, Chilwell I think I will play two of those and bench two. Yes I consider benching Salah, but will probably not do it.

You give your head a wobble.

Wilson’s done okay to be fair but I just don’t know how anyone can watch a Newcastle match and then make the decision to put one of their players in. They’re so bad going forward.
I can’t imagine have him in my team and sitting there watching, waiting for the one chance they create for him in a game. Somehow at the start of the season he was taking them and getting questionable pens but that’s all gone now.

112 all out. Considering Salah (c) was a complete failure and I played no chips I'm very happy.

Trying not to think about next week's team/transfers yet. With KDB out and Salah in poor form I'm struggling to see any standout replacements.

Playing him against Leeds, then giving him the boot. His/Newcastle's rotten form has coincided with ASM missing (not that his end product is good or anything but he gives them some sort of impetus in attack). He's back now so I'm hoping against hope that they can find some attacking spark vs Leeds.

Yeah just I don't know who to bench. Saka, Wilson, Chilwell play 1 probably. They are all decent, but not amazing for this week I think. Or bench Stones, Cresswell if I play Chilwell, but feel they got good chances for clean sheet.

I might buy Cancelo and bench Stones as first defender if Pep does his rotation rather than getting Gundogan.

Yes, my only concern is spending that much on Stones. Laporte is almost fit.

100% wouldn't drop Kane if I were you as I would want at least one Spurs asset. With KDB injured and Salah struggling, they could be key captaincy options over the coming weeks.

For example, in GW21 they face Brighton while Bruno faces Arsenal and Salah faces West Ham. Then in GW23 they face West Brom while Salah faces City and Bruno faces Everton.
