Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Mccarthy Button
TAA Walker PieTERS Doherty Mithell Douglas
Son Auba Saint-Mazimin Stephens Salah
Werner Mitrovic Ings

The individuals in bold are bench fodder.
Not happy with this team tbh, I think it's suicidal not including a Chelsea mid.
This team costs more than 100m

If Sancho comes I’m in trouble here, with my big plan involving Greenwood on the bench the first game.

Would Poulsen get a game for a midtable Premier League club? Seems to have nothing about him.
For me, definitely the first option. TAA isn't just a defender, he has so many routes to getting you points. Clean sheets, assist and goals. I know you want to make your team different but this isn't the way to do it because if TAA gets those goals, you'll be at a massive disadvantage from the off.

Jiminez is consistent but he's also known for getting usually one goal (or equivalent). He's not like Aguero who gets braces and assists often. Plus no Doherty means Wolves may not be the same as they relied on his attacking returns a lot. Egan is good but a lot of people are swayed because of those goals he scored after the restart. Remember, those are the ONLY goals he's scored and nobody knows if they'll be as solid defensively now that other teams know what to expect this year and they've downgraded Henderson to Ramsdale (in my opinion).

Sorry to poop over your plans buddy.
Definitely option 1, as explained by @Dirty Schwein.

What do people reckon, Greenwood + Werner + Kane + Wilson or Salah + Mitrovic + DCL + Ings? The latter gives me an additional 0.5 which I can use to upgrade Ings to Martial in GW2.

Thanks for input lads! It just all seems very samsey when I look at other teams!

What about 4.5 mil midfielders? I have Lemina because if he starts, I think there is a player in there!

Bissouma a better option possibly?

   Never have I been so happy about an injury! Armstrong out which unlocks a 4.5 gem in Smallbone, which further makes me able to not rely on Justin, and can throw Greenwood+Taylor on the bench

Mccarthy
Trent-Robertson-Doherty-Saliba(or Holding)
Auba-smallbone-Son
Ings-Werner-Nketiah

Gordon-Greenwood-Taylor

... and only 1 sub in gw2. Either Werner or Ings to Martial depending on my eye-test. Morata-hype about Werner anyone? :nervous:

Or I can go for Saka (5.5) instead of Nketiah, and have easier access to Foden in GW3. 1 m in the bank.

Saliba and Nketiah seem big risks. Certainly you can find a 4.5m defender who will be playing week in week out.

Can I reopen the Salah/Mane debate

Someone convince me that they are value at 12m when KDB/Sterling/Bruno/Sancho (who I think is inevitably joining) will be cheaper.

KDB got more points comfortably than Mane, and more than Salah and is cheaper. This is mental stuff.

I have Salah who I might take out but one thing I want to mention is if he does not return much against Leeds. That 2nd and 3rd fixture looks yuk.

I genuinely believe you could take a risk and just stay away from City and Liverpool on the whim that there are some tricky fixtures there.

I've completely messed my team again. Debating about to get rid of Salah and leave the Liverpool FB's as set and forgets due to the enormous amount of points they get for the price.

So far I've got:

Ryan
TAA Tierney KWP
Auba Salah Son Hendersn Sousek
Antonio Werner

I was thinking this about Aubameyang and arsenal more than City.

Aubameyang will have Liverpool, Sheffield, City, Leicester and United all in his first 7 game weeks.

Pulisic or Havertz? Who's starting at the weekend? Both? Neither? Had Havertz in but Pulusic out of the yellow zone now. Finished the season in such good form.

I've currently got neither as I'm opting for Son, but given the choice I'd go for Pulisic.

Armstrong's injury has thrown a spanner in for me. How about CHO? Ziyech is unavailable.

Team this evening is:
McCarthy
TAA Davies Egan Justin
Salah Auba(C) Son Saint-Maximin
Werner Ings

Swore I wouldn't use a SHU defender but their opening fixtures aren't bad...

TTA should be the first player for everyone. 200+pts player for £7.5.

GKs: Ryan, Meslier and McCarty are the ones to consider for £4.5. The big question here is if you have two of them(similar to Ryan and Pope last year) and alternating dependent on best fixtures or have one of them + one £4.0 GK.

Defenders: TTA is a safe one, while Robinson £7.0/VVD £6.5 is dependent on budget. Reece James £5.0, if starting, could be a must. If Telles goes to Wolves, then he should be a safe bet for anything under £6.5 (Left-footed TTA potential output with set pieces and maybe penalties playing as a wingback in a defensively solid team). The £4.5s to be considered are Taylor and Pieters(if starting) at Burnley, KWP, Bednarek and Salisu(maybe) at Soton, some of the Leeds guys like Alioski could be tempting if playing. At Wolves, Buur might be their in-house replacement for Doherty, and for £4.0 could be great value. Lamptey at BHA is also an option if playing.

Midfielders: Salah for £12.0 is still good value, PEA £12.0 at home and against weaker sides always gives you points. Sterling is not a great finisher, but gets so many opportunities that having him for £11.5 is arguably better over a season than PEA or KDB for £11.5.
Having at least one of these is essential. Son £9.0, Rashford £9.5, Havertz and Pulizic £8.5, Zyiech £8.0 and Bruno (Do we get as many PKs this season?) are all good options. Foden £6.5, Greenwood £7.5 and Saka £5.5 are all potential great value options if they are playing regularly. ASM £5.5, Jota £6.5, James R £7.5 and Pereira £6.0 are all vital players for weaker teams and could be + 150pts players if the stars align.

Attackers: Werner £9.5 seems to be the one to get. Kane/Aguero £10.5 might be great or injured or influenced by JM's tactics and Pep's rotation. Ings/Jimenez £8.5, Martial £9.0 and Vardy £10.0 are all players that could get close to 200pts. Adams/Antonio £6.5, Mitrovic/Rodrigo £6.0 could have numbers similar to Ings last season.

I haven't played Fantasy in about 10 years. Last time I entered you had to ring up a number in the sun and type in a bunch of codes!

Quickly stuck this side together, might be total shite.

Bench is basically nothing, probably an awful idea

I've completely messed my team again. Debating about to get rid of Salah and leave the Liverpool FB's as set and forgets due to the enormous amount of points they get for the price.

Is the problem with this strategy that I will never captain the fullbacks so realistically Salah will pick up a lot of bonus points rendering my choices not so great?

14.5m @ 391points vs 12m @ 233 points

Remember no city and united fixture in GW1.

I figured it would balance out eventually. Is overall score less important than week to week scores these days?

You can make transfers to bring them in though and you also got a wildcard.
I think it is better to start with a strong side.
Being behind everyone is also not so fun in my mind. Although maybe you like starting from behind and catching up?

Salah or Mane? Always a tricky question.

Predict if Milner starts or not. If he starts then Mane. If not Salah.
Although last season he came from the bench to steal penalties from Salah too.
One time I had Salah and the other time Mane.

Here she is. Not happy with Bednarek or Diangana so will probably tinker.

McCarthy
TAA Bednarek R. James
ASM Salah Aubameyang(C) Diangana Son
Ings Werner

Am I a fecking idiot putting Rob Holding in the team for those first 2 fixtures?
Apparently David Luiz is out.
