Fantasy Premier League 20/21

What's everyones plans for BGW18 and DGW19?

My initial thoughts are to not use my second wildcard and build towards a DGW19 BB with transfers and Free Hit in GW18.

I've got Bruno, Salah, Zouma, Vestergaard, Dallas & Bamford all with doubles in GW19 and good bets to start both matches. I'd be keeping Kane and Son regardless with a single match vs Sheffield United (perfect) so that means 7 players to replace and 6 free transfers until 19 which is very doable. So something like...

Guaita, Forster, Lamptey, Mitchell, Mahrez, Alzate, DCL to Meslier, McCarthy, Coufal, Taylor, Mount, Bowen & Antonio is doable over the those weeks and arguably strengthens my squad anway.

Would leave me with a BB squad in 19 where 13 of them will potentially play twice.

In the blank gw prior I'll take my pick of City (vs Brighton), Arsenal (v Palace), Newcastle (v Sheffield United) and Spurs (v Villa) and maybe a touch of Wolves (v Everton) so something like...

Ederson

Dier Bellerin Lewis

De Bruyne Mahrez Neto Son Auba

Kane Wilson

Subs : Meh, Brewster, Holding, Meh

I have seen people on r/FantasyPL advising to use bench boost for GW19 and pack your team with doubles, using FH in GW18 to offset that. That means no Villa, Everton, City or Spurs players. I don't think that's a viable long term strategy, in my case I'd have to remove Grealish, DCL and Son and lose over 1.0m in value on those transfers so I couldn't easily get them back.

I already have Dias, Grealish, Watkins, Martinez, DCL, Son and Dier who I can field in GW18. All have good fixtures between now and then, except maybe Villa but they've performed in big games. I can easily get to 9-10 players for that gameweek without putting any duds in my team, and with two free transfers carried over I could still transform my team to have 7 doubles in the following week (between Chilwell, McCarthy, Bamford, Vestergaard, Cresswell, Bowen, Bruno and Salah I already have 8 without making a move). So essentially I only need to make a couple of moves from here to have a team in GW18 and be able to have a significant number of doubles the following gameweek. I guess I'm fine keeping my FH?

You don't have to go all in. I'll be keeping Son and Kane like I said because they play Sheffield United in that game week. It's about finding the right balance isn't it. The only negative for me is not bringing in any Villa because I want Grealish really but then looking at it they've only got a couple of great fixtures after this gw before they play Chelsea, United and Spurs in succesion. City look best avoided with rotation + how generally crap they look but again I can keep Mahrez for another week or two if I want. Same with DCL.

I'll probably stagger my transfers like this

Out this week > Guaita & Mitchell. In > Meslier & Taylor
GW15 Lamptey > Coufal
GW16 Mahrez > Mount
GW17 Alzate > Bowen
GW19 DCL & Forster > Antonio & McCarthy

Figure I'd leave Antonio to last to see how fit he looks. Could also go Che Adams then instead.

Yeah I think I will plan to have 7-8 doubles in GW19 but will also plan to have at least 9 players in GW18. I don't mind having some non-playing players then as looking at fixtures list even if you use FH and have 11 active players, you may still not get that many points.

Joke that KDB captainers have even got 8 points

Hardly a joke when he'd have had assists if his teammates weren't so crap.
Otherwise should no midfielder or attacker ever get bonus if their team don't score?

If he didn’t contribute to anything, probably not really? A little bit silly that Bruno could actually contribute and end up with only a couple points more

Takes the sting out of it
Aye I'd take it and run.

I'll keep Kev till around the BGW. Even at his worst he was good for a couple of assists. Soton away next. Let's see what he does.

I already have other premium mids like Salah Son and Bruno so even if I take him out it would be for Kane or Vardy. Not sure if that's a good call.

Don't think I will FH for GW18 at the current moment. I will more than likely work my transfers from now to GW19 and try and get as many of the best double players as possible.

Kane for KDB is a no brainer.

He looks dangerous, it's just that the city attackers have been piss poor at finishing the chances he's creating. I wouldn't get rid until we see how things change when Aguero is fully fit.

Once again Bamford and DCL need to shine.
Love it if DCL keeps returning. His price went down the other week which seems mental considering the form he is in. I get Everton don't look quite as strong as they did at the start but he's still on fire.

Bonus points are based on playing well and hitting their metrics - passing etc.
You don't always have to score or assist to get points. Otherwise you'd always be limiting clean sheets to defensive players, or the bad old predictable days when a 1-0 would always see the scorer get 3 bonus even if it was a tap in.

Whenever I watch Bamford without having him he always seems to get chance after chance and inevitably onion bags one.

Now I have him he seems less dangerous. Classic sod's law

Shouldn’t have put McCarthy AND Vestergaard on the bench against this Arsenal team. I don’t know why I associated Arsenal with decent offensive game, they haven’t had that since Arteta.

I stop watching it and he scores.
I'll settle for that!

Watching Arsenal now.
Need Southampton to concede really but still great to see Arsenal slip up for those fan tv goons meltdowns

I have 2 Southampton players. They are super value for money and I knew they’d get something out of this game. It’s looking like Arteta has lost the dressing room. I picked vardy over dcl t which isn’t looking like a good choice atm. Bamford scores at least!

Bruh it’s just annoying seeing him on 8 points after City did feck all.

Che Adams assist and a surprising attacking return from Dallas.

I might bring in Bamford, this will end his goalscoring run I'm sure of it

Not too bad an evening all in.
Southampton and Leicester drop points. Bamford goal.
Vardy and the Southampton defender boys all blanking.

Not sure what to hope for in the Liverpool game. Well..a Liverpool defeat of course. But I have Salah but others will captain. I don't have Kane or Son but if Liverpool are going to drop points those two will need to do it.

Nah he's one of these players who just pokes one in every 2-3 games.

My 2 strikers Wilson and Bamford really don't know how they ended up only getting 11 points between them.
