Fantasy hockey 09/10

Should have realized how hard it is to find a quality winger.. I have Loui Eriksson as my LW.

Otherwise I'm pretty pleased with the team although, I might be banking on the success of too many young players.

My personal steal was getting Thornton in the 4th round.

I thought finding Vinnie left in the 3rd round was quite something, but on the whole with a couple of tweaks as the first few weeks pan out I'm more than happy with my team.

Missed the draft but feck im happy with my team... maybe a little weak in defence but I have LOTS in attack.

Releasing Sharp for Kesler come October if anyone wants a free grab, he had a great pre-season.

Solid wingers and ok-ish centers, especially if Richards has another good year

Hey Kristjan, in the third round I took Thomas as a GK and you took Steve Mason with the next pick I believe.. I had my sights set on Mason the whole time but kind of chickened out and grabbed the Vezina winner. I think you made a great pick, but just out of curiosity.. Would you have grabbed Thomas if he still would have been available at that point?

Still happy with my pick and all, just suffering from some buyers remorse I suppose.

Mr Anderson, your team looks great with all those nice forwards, but I already exchanged Duchene for Kesler yesterday.. It just has to go through waivers I believe.

Hey is the league still open for new teams?? If yes, then do I first join the league and then make the team from non-drafted players?

Hate to say it guys, but you mind as well just give up now. My team is gorgeous. If Semin stays healthy...

If any of you are in other fantasy hockey leagues, I'll give you a heads up now: Pick up Matt Gilroy. If you need an offensive defenseman, he's your man. Ridiculously talented (skills of a forward) and probably the fastest skater other than Gaborik on the Rangers. He looked incredibly at home in the NHL during the preseason and he's going to be given free reign to create offense for the Rangers in Tortorella's up tempo system. He'll also see significant PP time on a revamped powerplay. Think of a Mike Green type player with more speed but a slightly lesser shot.

It says mine's waiting as well, who has the better number?

I'll take Douche off you

Don't know, but I think I do, since you had second overall but I don't really know how this fantasy waiver thingy works. This trade could really backfire on me however if the Douche  tears things up. He'll probably get quite a lot of ice time.

I wanted Kesler to safe things up a bit since I already have Berglund and Versteeg who are young forwards who could be suffering from the ol' sophomore slump next year.

I'll keep that in mind, I'm playing in a keeper league for the first time this season

Had planned on picking Steve the whole time and Rinne as my 2nd goalie as well. Might have picked Thomas if you had nabbed Steve I guess, don't know.

Keep thinking about those 10 Shut outs last season.. Think this choice could come back to haunt me. You have two great goalies there.

But I'm not worrying about that.. My team is practically invincible

Is there a limit to the amount of players you can move?

Hey Anderson, Kesler's available again if you want him  I'm just too indecisive here..

I took a risk and went for Viktor Stålberg instead.. He just looks phenomenal.. Great skater, good hands, nice shot, strong on the forecheck.. Started on the 1st line and got 1st line PP time and did some PK as well yesterday.

Then again he could be sent down too.

 Well I dont wanna wate too many moves yet, I had no idea there was a limit

Gilroy or Del Zotto???

Gilroy or Del Zotto???

Hmmm, Del Zotto is the one I see suffering more if we finally find a seventh defenseman (dunno why we're looking for one when Del Zotto is the powerplay quarterback we've been looking for for ages). If we do find one, he'll be the one who occasionally sits or loses time. He actually could still be sent back to juniors but I think Torts will keep him. But on the other hand, playing on the first powerplay unit with Gaborik and Kotalik's monster slapshot guarantees him points.

I'd probably pick Del Zotto for fantasy at this moment and keep a close eye on Gilroy even though Gilroy will get more ice time. Gilroy still needs to work on his shot a bit imo.

I know I keep talking up Rangers players, but if anyways looking for a center in another league, Dubinsky has vastly improved. Best thing about him is that he seems to think he can fight, so you can bet on 100 PIM from him as well. He's a guy who could definitely pick up his point total from last year and chip in some useful PIM.

... I'll stop now.

This looks like it's gonna be one of his good years. If you look at his stats, he seems to have a good year followed by a bad year, followed by a good year, etc. Last year was a bad year. This year he's playing with one of the most dynamic players in hockey. So I'd say he should be quite decent.

Much please with how my team has turned out, got a godsend last night with Bryz beating fleury despite having them both, got made up for a poor Malkin showing.

Man, some guys on my team need to wake up. Especially the goalies. Markov's injury didn't help either.

I've realised that my team is seriously unbalanced. I just tried to pick the best players. Never did a fantasy team other than some football team once. Thing is, I don't get why silly stats like shots on goal carry the same importance as a goal. No wonder Corey Perry was in the top ten given the PIM factor.

Sour grapes probably, but you have to admit it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Really should have thought this one through. I have a team that will rack up a ton of assists and not much else.

If you wanna make trades, I'd be willing to negotiate. My team "Time to get ownzied"

Hmm.. Loui Eriksson for Carter? :D

Seriously I have a hard time working something out between our teams.. Do you have any suggestions?

Seems like Franzén's injury fecked things up for you. I lost Markov which sucks.

Yeah Franzen fecked up my team pretty badly. I haven't looked at your team but I'll give it a look tomorrow and see if there's anything we can work out. You're primarily looking for forwards with SOG I presume right?

If you're looking for FW, I think I've got something like 5 centers including Brindamour..

I'm quite tempted to get Brindamour just for the FWs, but isn't he like a 4th liner nowadays?

I looked at the other teams and maybe it's actually not going that bad. It seems like this guy I was facing (Corleone United) really had some uberstats last matchup. My FWs seems fine compared to most other teams.

I'll win against you now nyrfan. Easily.

If he's got 2 goals and an assist for me so far as a fourth liner, then I am one lucky man. After a dreadful start to his season last year, he's actually been quite good.

We'll see about that Iron Stove.. You will win if my first round pick doesn't start picking it up.

I don't really know where Brindamour plays, but I thought he was on one of the lower lines. I actually don't watch Carolina much.

I was just joking around earlier.. Speaking of first round picks, Iginla could definitely be doing better.

Sorry Dans btw, I'm not doing that trade. Smyth has been awesome so far.

I sent you a pm with a trade proposal. Tell me what you think.

That is the art of fantasy hockey, and that's why im damn near perfect so far.

This is seriously my strongest ever fantasy team, simply because I did what Iron Stove neglected to: put thought into it.

Not alot of people are touching some of my teams numbers, i'm a force if my team stays healthy.
