Fantasy Football 2017/18

Team for this weekend is:
Forster
Cedric - Jones - Naughton (or Monreal...?)
Silva - Sterling - Gross - Atsu (or Loftus-Cheek?)
Lukaku (c) - Kane - Vardy

Double Soton defense has been killing me the last few gw's, they used to be so solid at the back. Hopefully they can stay firm against West Brom.
Really unsure about whether to put in Naughton/Monreal or Atsu/Loftus-Cheek?

Forster
Naughton, Cedric, Mbemba
Silva, Gross, Sterling (c), Ramsey(!)
Lukaku, Kane, Lacazette

Elliot, Monreal, King, Ward.

Lacazette -> Morata?

Or Ramsey -> Zaha?

I lack points but with 2 transfers and - 4points last 3 weeks a managed to get

Elliott
Cedric - Trippier - Jones
Mkhitaryan - David Silva - Sterling - Richarlison
Jesus - Lukaku - Morata

With Foster, Schindler, Mbemba and Carrol on the bench. I am captaining Jesus this week.

Hi guys, can I get some advise?
I am playing an internal league at work and I am struggling.

De Gea

Lascelles - Bellerin - Lowe

Mooy - Mkhitaryan - Sane - Kante

Jesus - Lukaku - Kane

Subs: Obiang, Mbemba, Ranger, Foster (GK)

What would you do in my team?

Many thanks!
Personally I'd want 3 good midfielders. Both Kane and Jesus have less points than De Gea despite costing a lot more. Vardy/Firmino/Lacazette/Morata instead of Lukaku and you've freed up 2-4m for a much better mdifield starter instead of Kante/Mooy. You could even go Rashford as your 3rd striker or even cheaper options in Abraham or Wood (3 goals in 6 games).

In general if you don't have Burnley players you should have. They play City next weekend which will make their first 5 away games against Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton (8 points out of 12 in those games, 0 losses). A very solid team this season that's hard to break down.

I've duly kicked out Cedric this week. Good GWs be damned, they look so bad in attack that teams feel comfortable sitting back and attacking on the break. You can certainly think about letting one go.

Naughton vs Monreal is interesting. I'd choose Monreal because Arsenal have been disciplined defensively in away games and Everton have no pace to put them under pressure. Leicester (particularly Mahrez) might kick on with Shakespeare gone.

Both transfers look solid to me. Zaha's price is the lowest that it will ever be and is a good acquisition at the moment looking at his overall FF record last year and recent form. CP also has a decent fixture list barring spurs.

Morata over Laca is again a call that most will agree with. Chelsea also have good fixtures.

I have no clue who to captain between Kaku, Kane, Sterling, Silva.

I'm taking the safer route and captaining Lukaku and my options are between Silva, Kane, Lukaku and Jesus and Eriksen.
Kane is yet to score at Wembley and Burnley have a pretty impressive record against the bigger sides this season

City vs Burnley might be closer than we expect. Burnley are good at parking the bus and certainly not as naive as Stoke. The score was 2-1 City both times last season.

So for me it's Lukaku>City>Kane>Morata
That's possible. But then again, they thrashed Watford 6-0 away so I'm a bit confused. I think I'm going to stick with Sterling for this one. Lukaku has been a bit out of sorts lately.

Yes. I have been chopping and changing and will possibly settle for the same.

Save Free Transfer?

Elliot

Monreal Jones Naughton

Sterling Mkhi Silva Ritchie

Kane Lukaku Firmino

Subs: Foster Simpson Carroll Mbemba

£0.5m in the bank but don't know where to put it. Mkhi worth holding this week, Firmino gets a last chance due to good midweek performance.

Yeah, save. You actually have an active bench, which will come in handy from GW 12-22. Just need to keep an eye on Chelsea and add accordingly.

Have absolutely no idea what to do this week.

Big priority is again up front - I have Lukaku / Kane / Jesus at the minute. I think I want Morata back in which case it would make sense to grab him now before his price rises.

Kane / Aguero / Morata would be my preferred front three moving forward for the next few weeks - Kane has been hugely inconsistent though and definitely making me question that.

I have the same front three and was set to save. Now, after Pep's presser and Aguero price rising, I'm thinking of taking a hit for Kane>Aguero. Tense times right before deadline!

Leave Morata for this week. He's playing a good away team and didn't look 100% midweek.

I think I will leave Morata until after the 7pm deadline and then do Lukaku > Morata.

At the same time after the deadline I may also do Jesus > Aguero - Jesus seems more likely to start this week so would make sense to that transfer so it's active for the following gameweek (whilst also getting in before the Kun price rise). Not sure if that's too much of a sideways move, but Aguero just feels more explosive.

Hmm what made you consider selling Kane? I am in two minds about him.

Jesus, D.Silva, KDB, Lukaku - who would you put as your captain?

Burnley are better than Huddersfield, but can see one of us or City having a screamer this weekend.

Would you swap Jesus or Lukaku for Morata?

May depend at what price you bought Lukaku for - I think he'll struggle in the following two GWs after Huddersfield so personally I am shipping him out for Morata (after this GW).

Can do without Kane for the next two weeks. So my thinking is:

GW 9: Kane to Aguero
GW 10: Lukaku to Morata
GW 11: Jesus to Kane (money saved in previous two transfers)
GW 12: See if I really need Lukaku

Now that I say it out loud, seems suicidal  What do you think?

Hmm, the only one I am bit unsure on is Kane to Aguero this week - it means you will have Kun / Jesus and surely one of them will be benched (presumably Kun?). Also I fancy Kane to score against Liverpool.

Agree on the Lukaku move, that's what I am doing, taking him out and then most likely bringing him back in after Spurs/Chelsea.

What is your midfield? Any other transfers more of a priority?

There does not seem to be a template team at the minute. I have Gross / Ritchie but considering Richarlison / Zaha.

Also defence is a real mindfeck at the minute as well . I am taking Davies out this GW but not sure who the best replacement is.. actually considering Stones (I know!) who seems better value than Otamendi.

That and the fact that Burnley defenders are not the best opposition for healing ribs. Doing it for a hit is even more non-sensical. So yeah, thanks for talking me out of it :)

My team is

Elliot Foster
Davies Jones Naughton Ward Rosenior
Salah Silva Ramsey Carroll King
Kane Lukaku Jesus

Basically a 4-3-3 which will be 3-4-3 this week. I've literally set and forget mid and def this season. But yes Davies might have to go. If Chelsea get their act together, I may go for Luiz. Otherwise I'll follow your lead and buy Stones.

Luiz was actually the other one I was considering @SirMattBugsby (particularly after his goal midweek and potential to play out of position).
