Fantasy Football 2017/18

So how many players has everyone got playing twice?

I have 14 - Salah being my only one. Although my bench players will probably get me a grand total of 6 points

9, but will leave Yedlin on my bench.

May bring in someone for Tosun at a -4 hit, but will make a call on it late.

I have 13 players with DGWs. But already played bench boost so sticking the Triple Captain on either Kane or Jesus.

It had been pinned on Kane for weeks but for some reason I'm starting to contemplate Jesus... Possibly even Sterling but you just know he'll be benched for one of the games.

Kudos to all who stick with their fantasy teams through to this part of the season. I tend to lose interest around Christmas when the fixtures pile up and I invariably forget to sort my team out.

Team Kane for me buddy. At least he's guaranteed to play both games and he always turns ou on at the last few games to try get that golden boot.

It's people like who you are absolute gold for work leagues, and getting that pot up

2 weeks to go, am sitting 3rd in a £10 entry work league out of 78 (!), and 3rd in another league, that has similar numbers, but has double the money in!

Money goes down to 8th and 5th respectively.

Should be safe to hang about in prize money in at least the first one.

Critical issue this week is I have a bench boost and rivals have the Kane triple captain.
I need to make as much in my bench boost, as they do from the triple versus double captain.

Team sits like this...

Double games Non
De Gea, Dubrovic
Christensen, Chilwell, Morgan Mariappa, Lowton
Hazard, Sterling , Kenedy Salah, Milosevic
Jesus, Kane Barnes

So on the face of it, 10 doubles, and 2 free transfers.

Issues - Christensen not at all nailed recently.

Options
  • Salah (away to Liverpool, and minutes a risk) - to Eriksen
  • Barnes to either Rashford (if Lukaku out), or maybe Ayew (keeps 2m available)
  • Christensen to a Smalling or City defender
  • Maybe Hazard out to free funds.
  • Upgrade a single game defender to a doubler.
Any thoughts in the same position?
I'll very likely do 3 transfers for a -4. I'll see what my rivals do before entertaining further!

5th in both leagues would be around £100, and obviously any higher starts ramping up, so a decent bit of Wonga on this!

Problem with selling Salah is that you'll probably want him back for the final game of the season? Which means commiting at least one other transfer next week, possibly having to take a -4? Not sure it's worth it.

I think Hazard has looked better in recent weeks so I wouldn't rush to sell him unless you have a firm idea of what you'd do with the money.

Not sure you're gonna get much from Chillwell or Morgan, Leicester are on their holidays already. Losing 5-0 to Palace is a bad sign and I think Morgan was benched the game before that too? Given you have Lowton facing Arsenal away and Christensen possibly not playing I'd definitely look to make a change or two in defence. A Swansea defender might be an easy, clean swap for one of your cheap defenders.

I'm leaning towards Kane, but if I go for Jesus I can afford the likes of Sterling too. With Kane I'd have to go for someone like Arnautovic or perhaps Tadic.

I played my free hit for this week. My team value is $100mn only :wenger:

This is what I have got.. Anybody suggest any changes?

De Gea

Davies
Laporte
Mawson

Arnautovic
Pogba
Sterling
Eriksen

Jesus
Kane (c)
Ayew

Davies might end up playing only 90 minutes.

I have no clue how far Rose is away from full fitness though, lol

Going with this:

Fabianski
Verthonghen Laporte Smalling Naughton
Hazard D. Silva Eriksen
Ibe
Kane Jesus

Elliott Doucoure Robertson Crouch
Players in bold have the GDW and I have 0.7 ITB with 1 FT. Any idea who I could upgrade? Looking at Ibe, but no good midfielder is available around the 5.3 price range.

Lol  Think Rose won’t play but Davies might rotate anyway.. Maybe I’ll get someone else from Tottenham

An overall disappointing season considering the time I wasted on FPL this year. Surprisingly though, I'm leading the Caf H2H league; possibly a result of constantly unspectacular but steady GW scores.

Lessons learned:

1) Form over fixtures: Stuck with Chelsea assets for too long just because they had a good run of fixtures.

2) Invest more in defense: A cheap backline was good for the initial weeks but didn't help once Otamendi and Alonso got going.

3) Ownership: Took out Kane just before his two hat tricks. My reason for doing it was to keep Hazard (refer point 1). Suffered a massive loss in rank which could have been avoided if I'd taken ownership into account.

4) Hits: Took 12 hits this season (-48). In general, they haven't worked out, except before the DGWs. Took 1 hit in the first 10 GWs, then 7 in the next 15, so maybe it's the timing of hits rather than the number which is faulty. In general, I felt risk-taking/differential was not beneficial this season.

5) Over-exposure: This was the first season where I came to know of various FPL-related sites and forums and I must admit, the information was overwhelming. Anyone else feel that way? Next season, I'll limit my time and sources. Not sure if it will help my rank but it will definitely help my sanity

How about Crouch to Ayew and play a 4-3-3?

I didn't realise there was an H2H league

why not Jesus?
No real logic but I never trust pep. You'll put Jesus as TC and when you check the lineup, Bernardo Silva will be in strike.

Secondly, Kane usually end the seasons with a bang and with top 4 pretty much tied up, Spurs will try get him that golden boot.

Jesus or Agüero have started every game for City and Agüero isn't going to play anymore. Pep said he's going for records.

That's not correct, I remember a game where Bernardo Silva started. But I still feel safer with Kane

I still have Lukaku in my team. Who do I take him off for? I already have Kane and Jesus.

Vardy probably the best option. Unless you fancy a punt on Rashford. Other angle would be a cheap striker (Ayew) and upgrade a midfielder

Thanks guys. Can't make more than one change. What about Aubameyang or Lacazette? Even Rashford is worth a punt if he plays both games.
I'd go with Auba. Seems to get points whenever he plays a team not in the top 5.

Thinking of dropping Salah for Eriksen... thoughts?

Got 7.4m for a potential replacement for Tosun. Rashford worth a punt for a -4 hit?

Welbeck in okay form, but don't trust he'll start.

Rashford seems to be the better choice. But I'm not even sure if he'll start. If he does, then it's a no-brainer.
