What a player, he deserves to start the next game, over Antony or Garnacho, I don't really care who but he deserves to start over both of them.

Should have come on earlier especially given Antony's performance. With amad injured, think sending him on loan would be a mistake. Could have got an extra 5-10 mins today at least instead of mount being out there

He deserves a start if only to give Antony a kick up the arse. Players don't perform, they should lose their place.

He was one of few players to come away with any credit last night

He did well when he came on and tried to force the issue on the outside, which Antony didn't do for the entire game.

Knowing us, he’ll be out the door on loan next week…

Sending him on loan would be irresponsible. I know he wants to play but I can't see a reason why he can't get enough games in this current team.

Hes not the answer people

He's always been a lively threat in his limited appearances and looks comfortable to take players on and provide cutbacks with his right foot and work the byline. Perhaps with Hojlund we should be trying him more but his tracking back is probably a big doubt for the manager.

We should be building up his game time more though. Either utilize him more or let him got so he can develop properly. He's at least a talented and natural right sided attacker that needs to play at his age.

He's really the only option who suits the right wing role in the way that Ten Hag has chosen to structure the side though, in possession.
And he is not good enough. Everyone forgets his limited starts last season (where he was clearly not ready) because of a couple of decent runs against tired defenders.

Continuing playing Antony is?

Antony was better than him last season. I don’t like Antony but this kid isn’t the answer, the answer is the transfer window

So buy another 100m player like Antony?

That seems so simple, I wonder how we didn't figure it out earlier.
Almost every over club did…
Antony is probably a worse signing than Maguire

I don't think he is that good but still a far better option than antony right now. Shame amad got injured again when he could have featured at rw.

If he doesn't start the next game, he should request a transfer. If he can't get any minutes after Antony's horror shows, he never will.

He looks decent in each cameo he makes. It doesn't necessarily mean he will play well as a starter, but I'd like to see it.

Sancho should be starting the next game

I would start Sancho, Rashford, and Pellistri. Antony and Garnacho should both drop out.
Fair enough. I’m thinking Sancho might be the better option down the middle next weekend. Rashford doesn’t want to put in the work against opposition CBs and he doesn’t have the close control to bring others in. Sancho isn’t physically strong but might be able to work in those pockets - in preseason he was carrying the ball very well in central spaces. Rashford - Sancho - Pellistri may be a good front three at home for one game till the CF is fit.

He's more exciting that Antony. But he's just as prone to losing the ball.

I think we first and foremost need a pair of wingers who can hold the ball up in advanced positions.

Our first phase from defence to midfield is fine. So is our second phase from midfield to the wingers. The issue is that Garnacho and Antony have been way too prone at losing the ball cheaply, when their job is to hold up the ball so that the rest of the formation can push up behind them to close up the gaps in midfield. I don't think Pellistri helps at this point in his development because of his lack of physicality.

His role should be as an impact sub for the forseeable. He's fantastic running at tired legs. Less so, being the patient ball progressor we need in order to control possession better.

Antony is actually (normally) very good at retaining possession - better than all our other wingers. His usual problem is how little he returns teams with the ball. He is picked for his excellent off the ball work and good ball retention. On Saturday even the ball retention went to pieces presumably because the score line forced us to be aggressive and he simply doesn’t have the talent / confidence to force the issue unless that means bad execution or long range curlers.

Pellistri needs game time for us to truly understand. Whenever I see him he strikes me as a dogged winger who has bursts of good moments but wouldn’t elevate the collective as his all round game isn’t too well developed. That of course doesn’t mean he should be denied opportunities. While I think Antony is a better footballer after that horror show on Sunday he deserves to be dropped for a couple of weeks allowing others a start. I do get the feeling that it won’t happen and ETH values his pressing as much more important than everyone here does. Maybe it’s also because Rashford is shit at it so the RW can’t also be given Garnacho isn’t the best at it either.

Antony was actually given opportunities, something that wasn't afforded to Pellistri.

Pellistri started a game (may have been 2) in the Europa League and was a complete disaster, worse than what we saw from Garnacho past 2 games

He was always going to be behind Diallo this season so a loan makes sense.

That's that then. He will most probably be sold next summer.

So we are leaving Antony with pretty much no competition whatsoever for few months? Great decision.

Hojlund will be fit in a couple of weeks, so Sancho will provide competition for Antony on the right and Rashford will be back on the left. I guess that's the thinking.
