Fabiano Ready To Move On

Why do you think that mate due to our finances or due to us not wanting the player?

I think he would be a goodplayer for us. And at 10/15 million would be a top signing, regardless of his age. I can't just see Sevilla throwing a spanner in the works though, somehow.

We also won't be the only ones interested, but he did say he is interested in Manchester United.

+ Wage factor, don't think he's amercenary, but I can see City have something to say.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido is confident striker Luis Fabiano will remain at the club next season.

Fabiano, who has boosted his profile this summer after scoring three goals for Brazil at the World Cup, has indicated that he wants to join either Manchester United or AC Milan when he returns from South Africa.

However, although he has just one year remaining on his contract, Del Nido has indicated that he would still expect a sizeable transfer fee and, as such, believes there is little prospect of a sale.

"Considering the way the transfer market is at the moment, it's difficult for us to receive an offer for Luis Fabiano that isn't ridiculous," he told AS. "I believe that the most likely solution is that he stays on at Sevilla.

"He says he wants to play for a big club like Milan or Manchester United. I put these statements down to the heat that clouds the heads of Brazilians when they leave their cities. I would like for Luis Fabiano to renew with Sevilla as soon as possible, signing an extension for another three seasons."

Think Del Nido is dreaming somewhat.

He would make us significantly better. Can't see it happening though as we've already bought Chicharito.

How long before city come and sign him too?

This transfer window sucks.

With one year on his contract he'd be a good buy for someone in January.

21 goals in 34 games last season. Nothing brilliant but nowhere near absymal he had a couple of spells out injured and playing through injury aswell. Everytime I watched Sevilla last season he looked dangerous.

21 goals in 34 games for Seville is damn good, not many strikers out there with 2 goals in every 3 records.

Too old for SAF though.

 Your a harsh man, 21 goals in 34 games is an excellent return.

Maybe I was a bit harsh:wenger:

When you look at his season a couple of years before 34 goals in 44 games that's as good as anyone really.

I honestly think if we could get him we could see a Torres like first season.

Just looking at the starts from last season for league goals. Outside of the Barca and Madrid players as it's hard to compare

Forlan 33 games 18 goals
Villa 32 games 21 goals
Fabiano 22 games 15 goals
Soldado 26 games 16 goals

Goals to games ratio he beats them all I think.

Anyone who doubts his quality is an idiot.

If you are good enough to be first choice for Brazil, then you are good enough.

I mean this is Brazil who leave Ronaldinho at home, and where Dani Alves often sits on the bench.

That's not a very good argument, would you take Michel Bastos over Evra?

Italian giants AC Milan have distanced themselves from transfer talk linking them with Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano and former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole.

The Rossoneri are reportedly very interested in the pair but vice-president Adriano Galliani says that no negotiations have begun and that the club were happy with their current squad.

“Let's leave Luis Fabiano be, he's playing in the World Cup and belongs to Sevilla. There are no negotiations going on,” Galliani said.

"In order to come here a great or very great player has to leave Milan. And for me Luis Fabiano is a very great player.

"However, we don't make big-name players leave.

“What would we do with Cole? Milan have a very complete squad."

That only leaves.....

What 'great player' has to leave Milan in order for Fabiano to sign? surely hes not refering to Huntelaar or uncle Inzaghi?

Either Milan have found the fountain of youth or Galliani is in denial about that squad.

Until a few years ago Vagner Love was first choice striker. He'd be a crappy signing. It doesnt work like that at all.

Kleberson was a first choice Brazil player. And Gilberto who went to Spurs and did nothing. Josue was first choice at one point. Just no.

Fabiano Warming To Spurs?

Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano has hailed the ambition of Tottenham and hinted that he could join the North Londoners if they want him.

"I must admit it's only in the last few weeks I have understood just how big Spurs' ambition is," he told ESPN.

Earlier this week, Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed Spurs’ interest in the 29-year-old, calling the Sevilla man a “fabulous” player.

Tottenham are looking bolster their strike force ahead of next season’s Champions League debut.

he he, is that fab coming running back to the press with his tail between his legs cos he cant get a transfer to one of the big boys? sure he was slating spurs a few weeks ago.

Surely it would be a sideways step at best and in truth probably a step down moving from Sevilla to Spurs. Unless he's in it for the money.

Seems like he is staying at Sevilla..

Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano has ended speculation regarding his future by committing himself to Sevilla.

The Samba star has been strongly linked with a move to England this summer, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur believed to be in the frame.

Italian giants AC Milan are also known to be long-time admirers of Fabiano and were tipped to reignite their interest in the 29-year-old frontman.

However, Fabiano has now revealed that he intends to stick with his current employers and has refused to rule out the possibility of extending his stay in Spain past 2010/11.

"It is true that other clubs were interested in me but I have not held advanced negotiations with anyone," he told ABC.
Contract

"I am very happy at Sevilla and I have never said that I will be leaving for Milan or Manchester United. These are big clubs, but Sevilla are also among the best in Europe.

"Could I sign a new deal with Sevilla? My agent is negotiating with the president, but there is no pressure because we have a lot of time.

"I am due to return to training on 26th July and I am looking forward to getting back to work.

"We have not done too well in the Champions League over recent seasons but we are set to enter the qualifiers in August and we have to make sure we give 100 per cent to make the group stage."

Seems like neither us or AC were interested. Shame as I would have liked to see this guy in England even if it was for Spurs just to prove a few people wrong. Big boost for Sevilla I suppose but then still plenty time for him to move on this has been on and off like a lightswitch so far.

That's not a very good argument, would you take Michel Bastos over Evra?

If you have Evra, then you don't need Michel Bastos. I do think Bastos would be good enough to play for a big club not that Lyon haven't been successful, especially defensively, against the big boys of late.

Kleberson?

Defenders and defensive midfielders aren't the same thing as goal-scoring talent when it comes to Brazil.

Until a few years ago Vagner Love was first choice striker. He'd be a crappy signing. It doesnt work like that at all.

Kleberson was a first choice Brazil player. And Gilberto who went to Spurs and did nothing. Josue was first choice at one point. Just no.

Vagner Love was never in Brazil's first team for a World Cup match. He is the only attacker which any of you have cited to me.

I'm well aware that Brazil has not always had the best defenders, goalkeepers and defensive midfielders.

But when it comes to forwards Brazil has always had incredible depth. I don't think I'm pointing out anything radical.

Perhaps I should have pointed out that we were talking about attackers in the Brazilian first team, but I would have thought that would be obvious.

It's not as if Fabiano's goals weren't of the highest quality in the World Cup, and it is not as if he doesn't have an excellent club record.

He has the quality. He might be too old for United, and maybe he wouldn't go beyond 20 goals a season. But if Berbatov isn't going to get the starts and if Rooney can't do it alone, then maybe you need a proven goalscorer who can do it now instead of rolling the dice with developing young players.

Preparing himself for a back track possible. If he wants to stay surely he will sign a new contract.

Brazil hitman Luis Fabiano has admitted he would love to play for Tottenham, as his future at Sevilla remains unclear.

Fabiano has been linked with Spurs throughout the summer, with manager Harry Redknapp declaring his interest on numerous occasions.

And, with rumours of Twente’s Bryan Ruiz heading to the Spanish giants, Fabiano could be on his way out of the door.

It had been thought he may have been left out of Sevilla’s Champions League qualifier against Braga this week but he played – potentially lowering his value.

With just one year left on his contract and no way he can play in the Champions League for anyone other than the La Liga side Spurs will not want to part with a lot of money.

However, Sevilla will want to sell because Fabiano has admitted he would love to move to White Hart Lane within the next couple of years.

He is quoted in the Express saying: “I feel that I could fire them to the finish above Arsenal I know the club and fans so desperately want.

“My next contract will be my last one, or at least my last big one, and I have to take that into account. My goal record in La Liga speaks for itself.”

Fabiano will not come cheap for Spurs, though, because he feels he deserves a contract on par with some of the best strikers in the world.

“I believe myself to be one of the top strikers in the world and you just need to look at the deals players like David Villa, Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba are on,” he added.

“I truly believe in the next two seasons Spurs can win the Premier League or European Cup. I’d love to be a part of it – I just need to know that they value me as one of the world’s top strikers.”

Hang on.... didn't he slag off Tottenham before the World Cup? Saying they weren't big enough.

Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano 's agent has given the biggest indication yet that the Brazilian will move in January, which will likely put Tottenham on alert.

The Brazilian World Cup striker was top of Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp's list of summer transfer targets, but Spurs were put off when quoted a price of over £20million by the Spanish club.

Luis Fabiano subsequently agreed a contract extension to keep him at Sevilla until June 30, 2013.
But, the 30-year-old has played only ten games so far this season, scoring two goals and faces tough competition from Freddy Kanoute and Alvaro Negredo for a first-team place.

Fabiano's agent Jose Fuentes is quoted in Spanish daily Marca, saying that a move might be unavoidable.

He said, "If the situation does not change, we will be obliged to look for the exit door."

Marca speculates that Tottenham will face competition for Luis Fabiano from the likes of Inter Milan and Schalke.
