Aston Villa have found themselves embroiled in a footballing row regarding the recent signing of former Leeds wonderkid Fabian Delph.
Delph, who turned down Everton and Man City to join the Villains, has today had his parentage called into question by Manchester City manager and legal tender bender Mark Hughes. Citing the potential use of DNA extraction and test tube breeding in Delph’s conception, Hughes’ accusations are sure to send shockwaves reverberating throughout the footballing world.
‘Well, I don’t want to say too much here but when the kid turns down the mon…I er, mean the opportunity to embark on a special journey at Man City, you have to suspect something is not right. Don’t you?’
‘Of course I didn’t want to believe it at first, I mean it sounds ludicrous doesn’t? But when Mark Bowen showed me the pictures of Fabian Wealth, well the evidence was staring me right in the face. Even dough I didn’t want to believe it, you can’t really ignore the evidence can you? We at Man City are currency preparing a doshier of our findings for the FA.’
Hughes’ accusations are believed to stem from internet rumors that Fabian Delph is the lovechild of Villa favorites Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor. These rumors, originally disregarded as gimptardery, were sparked into life when Martin O’Neill was photographed in what is thought to be a laboratory somewhere near Villa’s Birmingham training ground.
Just goodfriends, or brummy bum buddies?
Although this isn’t the first time a footballers appearance has been called into question- in 1994 David Seaman’s moustache was famously sued by Pringles for alleged copyright infringement- these allegations if proved to be true, could lead to a full scale enquiry into the birth of footballers throughout Europe.
The effect of the scandal has already been felt within England's biggest clubs with United Chief Executive David Gill being forced to come out in defence of their Brazilian twins, whilst Chelsea and Spurs have opted to keep quiet on speculation that youngsters Giovanni Dos Santos and Franco Di Santo's blossoming coincided with the apparent loss of footballing skills of fellow Hispanic, buck-toothed look a like Ronaldinho.
