unwise there from wisdom
has to be a red for him
has to be a red for him
yes!
we didn't play particularly well but great comeback
John Aldridge '..the best team lost'
Tunnicliffe was great for me. Morrison provided the spark.
Considering we had no strikers I'm surprised we managed to score 3.
John Aldridge:
'..the best team lost'
'..Johnstone the man of the match'
Rudolfo Burrell coming across very well. No excuses and saying they lost their composure after the red/penalty and they have to learn.
impressed by players on both sides. Some talented players who could have big futures. A good learning curve for all of them. Morrison is really impressive. Sterling looks like he could make his debut next season. Coady impressed as did united's cm who was available through out.
Hey I wouldn't worry too much. Our side is clearly a more talented selection of players, united have Morrison who is as good as some of our boys but is mentally unstable and aside from that they are filled with wannabe hardmen, made up of big strong bully boys, not so much footballers and duly imposed their physicality on us. We passed and moved brilliantly at times and they hardly touched the ball.
The future is bright. Some fantastic players in our ranks.
Agree with this.* I think the Mancs will be lucky to get 2 first-teamers out of that lot, and that's probably only going to happen if their first team gets worse.* Whereas I can honestly say that we should have 3 or 4 out of our lads, including one major star (probably Sterling or Wisdom).* The Mancs vaunted midfield seemed to lose the ball a lot under pressure, and we were definitely the better team in open play.* Not saying that defending corners and not giving away pennos aren't important, as they are, but it's a lot easier to teach that than it is to teach picking the right pass under pressure.
You can see why the mancs have been giving Morrisson alot of leeway, thought he and Sterling looked a level above everyone else but he was the player that maintained his performance throughout the match. Sterling (and also Adorjan who I thought started very well) seemed to fade badly in the last quarter.
You can see that Suso has masses of quality, but I don't think he is anywhere near ready for first team football. The pitch, and the Manc midfielders/defenders looked a little big for him today, especially as the game wore on.
Think that Tunnicliffe looks a decent player for them, dirty bastard though, all of the shenangans of the last 5 minutes kicked of with an over the top tackle from him that would have been out of line in senior first team football, let alone in a youth game.
Overall I though we were the better team, but faded badly through fatigue and losing our composure a little. Somebody up the thread said that the Mancs looked like a team of sprinters, and I think on a full size pitch I'm not exactly surprised by the manner of the defeat.
