F1 Season 2025

Sometimes they do. English F1 fans and Man City fans have a lot in common.

Will be the last time they host an opening farce in one place anyway, they'll be figuring out a way to ramp up the revenue and hype next time. People are such dopes they'd easily fill out venues across the world with the event remotely hosted.
Its easy to root for any driver who is not English when it comes to that. Go Charles, Oscar and Max!

Is it such a weird take in your opinion? This event has gotten plenty of stick though commercially it was probably a success. And it's all about the money these days. So if you want to avoid the juvenile booing from silly British fans and create an even bigger show thus increasing revenue where do you go? Probably the US.

I think he was probably reacting your constant patronising need to insult British fans. It’s exhausting, and not really necessary. As if they’re the only set of fans to ever boo. And as if all British fans are the same. There’s no need for it, doesn’t achieve anything, and isn’t additive to any discussion here. Which is irrespective of whether you’re even right or wrong.

This really. As if the scenario wouldn't be the same for other drivers or people if they went to the Netherlands and did this show for example.

I haven't said all British fans are the same. I do think there's a very large group of almost activist British fans who are very prominent in their abusive actions both online and offline. And with how Britain focussed the sport is that is a group that we are constantly confronted by. I'm not going to pretend it doesn't exist. The booing is juvenile and unnecessary. It happened. We're allowed to discuss and criticise it. Events like these should be enjoyable for everyone from every team and not just for British fans. It should be held on more neutral ground if they can't behave. I agree The Netherlands isn't the place for it either because of the history with the Lewis vs Max stuff. If they were to hold it here and the same would happen I wouldn't like it either. So do it somewhere else. Get a more diverse group of people on stage instead of the likes of Brundle. Go to Italy. Go to the US. Wherever really. Just don't do it in England again.

There's a notable difference in the level of vitriol/bitterness with i.e. Silverstone booing and the booing we see at Monza/elsewhere (we barely ever get booing anywhere else in Europe except those two tracks). And the level of entitlement and victimhood mentality English F1 fans have clearly dwarves everyone else. Obviously not helped by Sky amplifying every conspiracy theory and orchestrating witch hunts against Alonso, Schmitz, Alfa Tauri, Mercedes mechanics, whoever else they like.

I dont give a hoot about booing either but if it's a conversation about the online abuse it leads to, well we all know which fans are the worst culprits for that.

Why can’t it just be that F1 fans booing is juvenile? Why can’t it just be that fans attending the event booed? I didn’t see every single other non-British team and driver booed. Perhaps it isn’t just about nationality as you portray. What is though is your view of British people. You make it discriminatory. And for what? It’s frankly bizarre. But dig you heels in further. It’s utterly bizarre, but you do you mate and continue generalising an entire nation of people and then think that’s ok because of some large online activist following or whatever garbage you want to spout.

If the fuels are 100% sustainable, and the engines are pushing boundaries of efficiency, the environmental impact and technology advancement from that development would benefit everyone a whole lot more than stinking batteries.

Reduce car size, reduce weight, reduce complexity, reduce costs and barriers to development, probably get a new engine manufacturer or two coming in.

So you're saying it wasn't British fans who did this and there isn't a pattern there? I just hate British people or something? Ok mate

Well it was in Britain, so of course they were British. Not really sure where I said otherwise? Twisting my words only makes you seem even more ridiculous. It’s clear you have a problem with British fans. You’ve said as much, explicitly. So again, not really sure what’s your point? You’re the one who made the whole thing about the BRITISH fans, not just about the booing. So let’s cut the bull crap. At least own up to your discriminatory biases.

Booing another driver has never happened in other countries

Hamilton got a lot of boos in Spain for years over Alonso but he has turned them around now.

Merc vs Red Bull Toto vs Horner and the many Max vs Lewis incidents fuel a big rivalry. Not sure what the Spaniards problem was other than a young driver being faster and Alonso not liking it and wanting the team to focus on him as a senior driver. Maybe someone can remind me.

Very much agree with you. Especially about making the card a bit smaller and quite a bit lighter.
