F1 2022 Season

Max really should show more respect to his teammate, who sacrificed his entire season to help him get his first championship.

So very very spoiled.

Deep down this weekend will annoy Hamilton. Qualifying and the race didn’t give him the chance to go for the win whilst it was George who caused the red flag and walked both races.

What an ungrateful bellend Verstappen has proven himself to be again. Number of times Perez has driven his arse off for him, can't even give him that

I like how people here say that Leclerc is idiot for asking, but Max should have let Checo ahead of him. You can't have it both guys.

Don't forget the most important thing, George was simply better than him today and yesterday.

Stupid from Lewis, even more stupid from Max at the end. Frustrating race in the end since it looked like for half of the race that Perez will build some gap in front of Leclerc and now he is behind.

Sums up his season tbh. He really hasn't had much go his way.

Dickhead move from Verstappen. Perez has done him countless favours over the last couple of seasons and he couldn't even return one when he's already world champion?

Max had absolutely nothing to gain by staying ahead of Perez though? Leclerc would have taken a podium off of Sainz. Big difference.

What a beautiful Sunday . England win the World Cup. United with a last minute winner and now a Mercedes 1-2

I would say 3 points are bigger difference at the moment than the podium.

I don’t post in this thread generally because people are very angry here but seriously strange that Max would say no like that. Checo has done him a lot of favours

Think you forget what Perez did in that final race is the only reason Max won the championship.

Can you retire from this thread please with your deranged comments
How do you lot not have that guy on ignore? The thread is a much better read without his posts.

That's poor from Red Bull and Perez you mean. Wtf were they expecting on mediums? Not Max' business to bail out an inferior driver who is getting screwed over by his own team.

Perez only had one set of softs. He used the other in the sprint race. It’s what they used earlier in the weekend and/or brought to the race but they didn’t realise until it’s too late with the limited practice sessions in a sprint weekend.

Perez is too slow though, if you ignored Verstappen you would say Perez has a car that is equal to Ferrari and much slower than Mercedes. And he has a car that is much quicker than both Ferrari and And Mercedes.

It's actually quite embarassing if he doesn't finish 2nd on points with that car.

I said earlier in the season Mercedes would win a race this season, was hoping it would have been earlier than this.
Well Done to George, and Lewis for 2nd.

Going to be interesting for next season because Mercedes have progressively worked to understand the car and then improve it.
I would not be at all surprised if they win next year.

I wasn't paying attention but how far back was Perez at that point?

I think if he was within ~1s Max should have given him the points but any more than that and it'd be too risky to even bother.

Perez had a clean race with no damage or penalties and in the end got outdriven by both Mercedes and both Ferraris, even though one of each had damage. Really he just has to look at himself and try to work out why he's so poor at the classic purpose built circuits like Interlagos, Spa etc.
It was a team order so clearly it was safe to do so. It was a dick move by Max, make all the excuses you want.

I’m keen to know why Max didn’t want to give that back. Surely can’t be cos of Monaco. And it’s weird too because I’ve never really sensed they don’t get along.

Good. That will spur him on for next year.
Bring it on.

Yeah I've been thinking the same lately. Fingers crossed for a competitive championship next year.

Max in bell-end shocker, not. It’s a one man team and RB have created a monster. He’s so talented too, doesn’t even need to be an arse but just is one.

That's why you should never be a team player in F1 as a driver because someone else will screw you. You need to lay the foundations from day 1 that you're going racing. Perez was ahead of the Max at the start of the championship and let the team dictate his strategy at Catalunya to put him 2nd best. He let the team walk all over him.

Great to see the Mercs legitimately fastest on race pace once again (seems ridiculous to say that). I hope we have a proper battle to the wire next season.

"He's just showing who he really is", right?

Oh man, tasty!

Didn't Perez sacrifice points last season to box for a fastest lap so Lewis wouldn't get it?

Not quite sacrificed the whole season, but can you imagine RB asking Max the same?

Leaving aside that it was obviously the safety car that won Abu Dhabi for Max, what was it about Perez's sterling defence vs Hamilton that meant he sacrificed his entire season? Sorry going to need that explained to me slowly, ideally in a way that doesn't sound deranged.

If you dont like a dose of sanity and balance in this thread feel free to ignore me.
Seems to work well for a couple of the Herberts around here.

If Perez didn't hold Lewis up, Lewis would have had enough of a buffer to pit during the safety car. It wasn't the only reason Max won, but it was a factor.

Ok.

Perez’s defence cut Hamilton’s lead, without that Hamilton could have changed tyres under VSC with a gap to Max. Let’s not re-write history, Max owes Perez a hell of a lot for 2021.

Absolutely love Interlagos. Hope Lewis will get his win in Abu Dhabi, in the most controversial way possible
