Obviously all teams would have extra expenses but only 1 was over the limit...Understood.
Maybe the original poster will give us an explanation then.
Article explains (basically the altitude is having an effect on the turbos)Why are they all so close today ? RBR turned down the engines ?

It seems the thinner air is making the aerodynamics less effective, and cars/drivers with better mechanic grip/ability to drive smoothly are coming out on top.Why are they all so close today ? RBR turned down the engines ?
Strategic throwing of pole by Merc? apparently you want to be 3rd here off the grid
just shows how much they were reliant on that 10% wind tunnel time. as soon as they lost that they were catapulted back into the pack.
Development budgets are about circa 10m. You were saying that 1.8m isn't that much in the context of an entire budget, in the context of development it's a significant part of the budget.
Following a review in 2020, the cost cap was set at $145m for 2021, $140m for 2022 and $135m for 2023-2025, though the figures were based on a 21-race season and an inflation uplift was applied earlier this season.
The budget cap applies to money spent on car developments and performance, but not to some big-ticket items, such as drivers' salaries, marketing costs, logistics, travel and legal costs
What comes under the F1 cost cap?
Any expenditure related to car – but not engines – performance is relevant for the cost cap. This includes:
The biggest area of focus is car development costs, with teams having a weigh up what is developed, how much is spent on each part which is manufactured and how many of the parts are needed and can be afforded without overspending.
- All parts on the car (from the steering wheel to the wheel nuts)
- All the elements needed to run the car
- Most of the team personnel
- Garage equipment
- Spares
- Transport costs
- Everything in between
Not at all. Just posted at a bad time and took it out on @phelans shorts. Not really Merc fan either. Thats just too easy a sterotype. If i was i wouldnt have praised max's driving this season or be so disappointed in ferrari for not bringing a challenge to max. Just want some integrity back in the sport. It seems to be going down the wrong route. So because someone has a different opinion to you, you put them on ignore? You Merc fans are unreal.
I remember when there wasn't this bitterness between fans of different teams of this sport, god I wish those days were back now. Between here and reddit it's just a cesspool, nowhere to just discuss F1 without it turning in to the childish crap that's goes on here
Say what ???
Ok we can agree on all that. I'm just sick of the toxicity on here to be honest, from both sets of fans, it's getting old real quick. Anyway apologies for singling you out mate. Not at all. red bull were caught in the most serious of sporting breaches since lance armstrong and were punished by the fia a couple of days ago. they lost 10% performance as the fia decided that’s how much their cheating gained them, and now they’re just as fast as everyone else.
once perez goes it’ll be off the calendar I suspectNot the most exciting of tracks, but I love the stadium feel and loud crowd that Mexico City brings to the table. I hope they manage to keep their spot in the future.
How dare you. Rimaldo has never made a sarcastic post in his entire posting careerIs this a piss take?
It’s incredible how much you’re arguing that them going over the budget doesn’t matter when you don’t even know basic facts about the issue1,8m over 145m isn't 20%.
Also, if you are talking about just development, again, it has nothing to do with Hamilton this season since he has Ferrari guys and his teammate between him and Redbull which was what started this discussion initially few posts back.
Are you sure about that?
Obviously all teams would have extra expenses but only 1 was over the limit...

All the Max/ Lewis stuff is boring, along with the Budget cap.
Time to get back to the racing.
What makes you say that? Does it lose F1 a lot of money?once perez goes it’ll be off the calendar I suspect
Mexico City secured a new Formula 1 contract until 2025once perez goes it’ll be off the calendar I suspect
Why, the atmosphere is electric, as seen yesterday it's a track that is extremely challenging for drivers and cars - every small mistake can cost you a lot. Which makes it super entertaining for the watchers also and haven't heard a single thing about drivers not enjoying it, they usually love those tough conditions.once perez goes it’ll be off the calendar I suspect
On that subject i.e. racing. Whats the thoughts on new rules for this season? Yes cars can follow closer which is a positive. However the gap between front of the grid to the back looks as huge as ever. Personally i dont think scaling areo i.e. CFD and wind tunnel time wil work the way it was originally sold. All the Max/ Lewis stuff is boring, along with the Budget cap.

F1 has always been donated by one for a period, don't really think that's a problem. On that subject i.e. racing. Whats the thoughts on new rules for this season? Honestly think F1 should try ballast, that would bring the front and the rear of the grid closer together.
It would stop the boredom of domination by a driver for a decade i.e. schmacher, hamilton and maybe verstappen (sorry pauldy i went there).
If you can’t tell the difference between 2021 and 2022, nobody can help you understand anything.?
Where exactly am I wrong? I read that article three times and I still fail to see it.
