F1 2022 Season

No its not a Mercedes fault, the entire grid other than RB are suffering from porposing.
I would say most teams are handling it better.
It is easy to solve, but means losing speed and Mercedes don't want that obviously. Mercedes have already said they can turn it on and off, maybe they are trying for a happy medium, Ferrari seem to have found that.
RB just don't seem to suffer, is that down to Newey ?

I doubt it. Its very clear team orders will kick in especially with Horner's son involved.
It's early to call but I reckon the WDC will be a scrap between the two RBR drivers which is why they will have to make it fair fight.

You can’t expect them to just change the rules to fix this problem for the teams that are struggling with it, that would be ludicrous.

Well the point is it can be rectified without speed compromise. Its not a theoretically unsolvable problem. Also, I think other teams don't have it in exactly the same extreme way such as Merc.
Agreed. Mercedes do seem to suffer from it more severely.

But its an oversight on the FIAs part from the original design. If they want the teams to fix it, get rid of the cost cap for the rest of the season. Let the entire grid fix it properly without compromising thier car setup by running higher ride height than they ideally would. My 2 cents anyway.

Mercedes said they can turn on and off the low frequency porposing which was affecting them up till spain. But not this new high frequency porposing which they didnt expect after spainish gp. I may have the frequencies the wrong way around but the point is the same.

As much as i admire team to be able stick to their princples of a design, there does come a point where they are going to have to make a call and change the sidepod design and suspension for next season.

Some teams have managed to make it work, and the ones who are struggling the worst could easily fix it but it would compromise their speed.

It’s not the FIA’s fault that teams have pushed things to the point that they can’t be fast and stable at the same time.

If fixing the porpoising makes them slower then tough. Tearing up the rule book to solve that issue is entirely unfair to the ones who’ve cracked their designs.

I cany agree with your reasoning, I was expecting them to have this solved by now and to be challenging for poles and race wins, but they are miles off.
I agree if it does not work , then it has to change for next season, but everything I have read Mercedes saying if they can get the bouncing sorted they have a fast car.

If it is for safety reasons then you absolutely can. Drivers have already said they are worried about the long-term health implications of all of the bouncing as it is leaving a lot of them in pain.

OK I can see where you coming from ,what would the FIA do , make them all run at the same hight ?
That would be unfair on those teams that have a handle on the bouncing.

If not Latifi then it's Stroll. Can they ever finish one complete race with qualifying without crashing.

Alonso ruined what could have been an excellent last lap of Q1, gutted we watched Hamilton all the way and not the mad scrap

Is Alonso becoming the new Coulthard?

Alonso shitehousing again. He's really on a mission to be the bad guy this year.

I don't think they ever try to enforce a fixed set up solution. I think the best solution would be to allow them to have active suspension for next season.
