F1 2017 Season

The sport isn't dying. There are just a lot of people complaining that it isn't what it should be, allthough it has never been like that in the past and their idea of what it could be is fictitious. F1 gets quite boring when one car is a lot better than the others, but that happens. There have always been problems and wrong solutions, but the sport is dynamic so there will be different problems and wrong solutions in the future.

Why do you think there's a growing feeling that F1's going in the wrong direction? Or do you think these criticisms are always there and only intensify when one team becomes particularly dominant?

So, it looks like Bernie has actually gone! When judging Ecclestone people should remember what he's done for F1, not only on the commercial side but more importantly what he's done to make F1 safer for the drivers. Bernie's probably done more than anyone to make F1 as relatively safe it has become. For that alone Bernie should be remembered fondly.

That would be Sid Watkins, although Bernie no doubt played a part, especially as he was the one who appointed him to make F1 a safer motorsport in the first place.

Bernie did a good job overall, but he's outdated now and being in charge for so long gave him too much power.

A fresh new outlook will do the sport good, hopefully they'll bring the excitement back to the series.

Loud exciting engines are a must to bring the wow factor back, they can still continue with a hybrid system but perhaps go back to a v12 turbo instead.

I get the feeling it's going to be a more interesting season off-track than on it. Hopefully the Ricciardo vs Verstappen title battle is a) close and b) dramatic.

Lewis asked his fans to design a helmet for him:

One of the designs so far:

That Williams is pretty underwhelming... Hopefully it'll look a lot different come the tests. The Red Bull and Mercedes reveals will be exciting, Lewis says the Merc looks like a boat (although he doesn't sound too optimistic about the regulation changes) and the Red Bull is bound to have something interesting that gives it half a second on the field.

Sauber looks great.
The new Renault....I love all things yellow. Shame it won't win much :(

Just hoping for a real push from Red Bull this year. I cannot stand Hamilton and both Riccardo and Verstappen are great fun in their own ways.

Going to Silverstone this year......Prices are an absolute joke

That's a proper F1 rear end, looking forward to seeing what the big boys have in store.

Okay, that rear has actually got me looking forward to the season again  YEEZUS.

Ugly car warning:

Surely that shark fin went on about half an hour before the unveiling.

Prolly gonna win everything again isn't it.

The Merc's a beauty, if a bit long. The McLaren looks like a backmarker. Can't make my mind up on the Ferrari:

That McLaren livery is hideous, what were they thinking?

I like the front wings on most of these cars.

How have McLaren managed to mess up going back to orange ffs?! Looks like a bloody Marussia.

Remind me of the old Arrows car, as the others have said it looks like a back marker.

Yup, or Spyker.

Shame really because the car itself looks quite nice, bar the infernal nose.

Just noticed those Ferrari sidepod intakes look very different.
