I think alonso did his move too late as he went to the other side and changed his mind and misjudged.
There is a photo of the car on the crane after the crash and the cockpit has held up very well
I saw the crash and God, it was horrifying. I am thankful Alonso was able to walk away from that.
The scary thing is , 10-15 years ago that crash would've almost certainly resulted in the death of Alonso.
