Evra To Barca?

I never understand it when people say 'make it £XX and you can have him' or similar, we are talking about a first team, ever present player. This is a football club out to win trophies, we don't sell valuable players just because someone offers a lot of money, money can't play at left back so what's the bloody use? We've got one of the two best left backs in the world in our team, so why would we want to sell him?

It's like when people say they'd be ok with Rooney going for £100m, why would you? What do you think will happen with the £100m? It sure as shit won't score goals if you pile it up in the penalty area, and getting a big transfer fee doesn't mean we will sign a worthy replacement, it's like the opposite of transfer muppetry and it's arguably even worse/more annoying.

Amen brutha.

Although I don't think it's the opposite of transfer muppetry, it's all part of the same FM mind-set.

As reported by Marca, Barcelona have agreed to terms with Adriano, Sevilla's mercurial Brazilian full back, and will pay a transfer fee of €10 million for the defender/wing-back, which will see the 26-year-old call the Camp Nou home.

"The operation is nearly complete. We've been negotiating since last Saturday and there is an agreement of terms between Barcelona and Sevilla," declared Nervionense president Jose Maria Del Nido.

The Sevilla supremo went on to add that the transfer fee for the wing-back will be €10 million, but that it could balloon to €13.5m should certain objectives be met.

Adriano has played six seasons in La Liga and can play at both the right and left-back positions, along with a winger role.

Hehe, he's just a utility player.

Well said. It only makes sense when you have already a world-class talent in your team who could smoothely fill the position or if you could get an equally good replacemenet for less money then you are offered for your own player. In every other case, it makes no sense at all. Unless there's a transfer request that is.

Is that the most inappropriate use of the word balloon as a verb ever?

JOSE MOURINHO will turn to Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra if his £20million bid for Ashley Cole is turned down.

The new Real Madrid coach pulled out of the race for Lazio left-back Alexsandr Kolarov to pursue his Premier League targets.

Cole remains his first choice, but Mourinho fears Chelsea will price the left-back beyond Real Madrid's reach.

Mourinho is already confident of landing Nemanja Vidic from Old Trafford and is also keen on his team-mate Evra.

He has been encouraged after hearing word that the controversial France left-back has already put his Cheshire pad up for sale.

The United defender's house was put on the market last week and half of Manchester City's moneyed squad are already fighting over the remarkable property.

Evra is aware of Real's interest, but United do not have a replacement lined up at left-back.

Cole remains determined to quit Chelsea and has told friends in Los Angeles, where he has spent two weeks on holiday, he wants out.

Despite the club's Double-winning success last season, Cole is convinced he is being hounded out of the country.

Mourinho signed Cole from Arsenal when he was manager of Chelsea and is still hopeful of buying him.

LIVERPOOL OUTBID RIVALS FOR COLE | News Of The World

Why would Evra want to leave? He loves United.

because he might get a better paycheck elsewhere....

however unlike the vidic stories, till now we did not see united linked to left-backs.

tbh i d be more worried if we lose evra than if we lose vidic. We do have adequate replacements for vidic - any two from rio, evans and brown (not mentioning smalling who still needs a year or two).

On the other hand, the only player who can play left back without giving me a heart attack, aside from Evra is oshea. The likes of fabio and De laet are still not up to it .

Manchester United want to sign Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm and are prepared to offer forward Dimitar Berbatov in order to land the 26-year-old German.

Lham can play on either side

why would we let go of evra since chelsea unwilling to sell cole, feck off real....

Ancelloti says Chelsea not selling cole, who the papers all assured us was going to real, so it's on to evra. fecktards.

I'm sure Fergie would say we're not selling Evra, if asked the same question.

The most important difference here is that we all know Cole is a disloyal, greedy treacherous twat. Evra seems the exact opposite.

So if Real are 'priced out' of getting Cole by demands for more than £20m they're going to turn to Evra, who they expect to be cheaper than that somehow?

Also, no quotes as usual, and it's the news of the world.

Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra put house up for sa - IMScouting

patrice-evra

Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra looks like he could be edging closer to the Old Trafford exit door.

According to the News of the World
, the Frenchman has put his Cheshire house up for sale, increasing speculation of a transfer from Manchester United .

Real Madrid are looking to snap up Evra if they don't succeed in signing Ashley Cole from Chelsea, but Mundo Deportivo reported last week that the player was holding out for Barcelona.
Evra's contract with Manchester United expires in 2012, and he is valued at €15M-20m.

Now Men have picked up the story, fecking joke of site.

Patrice Evra has risen up Jose Mourinho’s wish-list as he eyes up another Manchester United defensive stalwart for Real Madrid.

New Bernabeu boss Mourinho is already hotly pursuing the Reds’ Serbian Nemanja Vidic to form the heart of his Real revolution.

Now he is considering teaming up left-back Evra with his Old Trafford colleague in Spain.

Evra is on Mourinho’s radar as a back-up plan for the Galacticos if his desire to lure Ashley Cole from Chelsea fails to come off.

But Stamford Bridge manager Carlo Ancelotti has declared he is “100 per cent” certain the England defender will still be in Chelsea colours for the new season.

And that could be bad news for the Reds, as they will face having to fend off another Madrid raid.

Vidic and Evra were the surprise £12m 2006 transfer window package brought to Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson from Spartak Moscow and Monaco respectively.

The Reds boss would be loath to lose both in one swoop to Champions League rivals Real Madrid, leaving his defensive options severely handicapped.

While United might be resigned to losing Vidic, they’ll fight tooth and nail to keep Evra. He was United’s most used player last season starting 48 of the Reds’ 56 matches and appearing as a sub in three other games.

If the Evra interest hots up and he expresses an interest in leaving, United could turn to Benfica’s Fabio Coentrao.

The £25m-rated 22-year-old had a superb World Cup for Portugal and attracted a lot of attention.

I would hate to see Evra go. The France fiasco at the World Cup notwithstanding, I think he would be a good captain for United.

We have been swapping captaincy between Neville, Ferdinand and Giggs and I really think we need a captain that plays pretty much every game.

That said, Lahm is class, whether the current rumours are true or not.

So when big Spanish clubs spend money like crazy (money they dont have in Barca's case and assumingly same applies to Madrid), there is not a word uttered from Platini or Blatter.

But a few years ago when the English sides were buying players - and not even players on the scale of the superstars Madrid and Barcelona are after, UEFA and FIFA were up in arms about the spending...what a joke.

I hope Evra stays, but after winning everything with us (except the FA cup I think) one cant really blame him if he was to go after the money/new culture/more trophies experience.

Platini was bothered about debt and forign owners. Not about spending.

I genuinely cannot believe mathieson picks up a wage for what he does.

I genuinely cannot believe mathieson picks up a wage for what he does.

It really has been pathetic. Pick up the morning rags, and repeat one of their stories as your own. Do they think people in Manchester don't read national newspapers?

Platini was bothered about debt and forign owners. Not about spending.

I know, agree with you, but it still felt like it was only debt and not spending because it suited their agenda more, i mean Barca couldn't even pay their wages the other day, surely that is not "healthier" then the position of any other clubs owned by foreigners/saddles with debt?...but alas, one cannot draw conclusions from heresay, without fachts!

Patrice Evra intends to join #Real or #Barca this summer http://bit.ly/bSYmR5 #mufc (via @OliverKayTimes)

Getting worried about Evra now, the rumors about him are starting to gather speed. Hopefully he signs a new contract ASAP.

saw this from football365.com, calling us manyoo, how orginial.

NOW THE TIMES SAYS EVRA WANTS OUT OF MANYOO
The credibility of The Times' gossiping about Manchester United has taken a sizeable hit in the past 24 hours with the Lindegaard news breaking on the very day that the paper claimed 'Manchester United are on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign David De Gea, the Spain Under-21 goalkeeper, from Atlético Madrid in January.'

The paper now says that all it revealed was United 'hoped' to acquire De Gea. Nice try, chaps, but we've got Thursday's Gossip Column to refer back to.

But, undeterred by what we're officially calling a gaffe, the paper has pressed on this morning to declare:

'Manchester United are facing a struggle to retain the services of another key player, with Patrice Evra eager to secure a move to Spain at the end of the season.

'United are keen to secure Evra on a new contract, but, while the France full back is prepared to discuss and possibly even to sign an extension to his present deal, his intention to join either Real Madrid or Barcelona is now an open secret within Old Trafford.'

According to the report, Evra 'has told his team-mates that he would be willing to sign a new deal if it helps United maximise their profit on his sale, provided that they are willing to allow him to move next summer.'

How very reasonable.

Fabio

Anyway, he just wants +20k on his contract..

Would be gutted to see him leave but nothing shocks me anymore in football, nice touch if it's true about him signing a new contract to maximise any fee we get. It's ok to mock but there are not many footballers in todays game that would do that to be fair.

Alves is probably leaving Barca, even as soon as January. They might want Evra on the left and move Maxwell to right back.
