Banega's Ferrari burnt to a crisp
Ever Banega's run of bad luck on the road took a bizarre new twist on Monday when the Valencia playmaker's Ferrari caught fire and burned out near the La Liga club's training ground.

The Argentina international, who has only just returned from a broken ankle sustained in February when he failed to set the handbrake in his car and it rolled over his foot, was unharmed in the latest incident, a Valencia spokesman said.

The vehicle that caught fire on Monday was a brand new Ferrari worth around 250,000 euros, the spokesman added, and pictures carried in local media showed only the front part of the car remained unscathed with the rest, including the passenger cabin, burnt to a black crisp.

The blaze seemed to have been caused by some sort of short circuit, the spokesman said. Ferrari is a high-performance sports car brand owned by Italian automaker Fiat

Bloody hell.

It's good that the article explains what a Ferrari is at the end there, I was really struggling to grasp the fundamentals of the story until that point.

I read an article once that said otherwise, something along the lines of Ferraris are built by Italian communists who resent the rich people that will buy them and accordingly do all manner of strange things to them. A list of complaints included nude photos in the door panels and extraneous objects left in places to produce mysterious rattles.

If I were Banega, I'd hire a driver.

No wonder Massa seems unfocused this season.

Just scored a great goal after a dribble, could be the goal that takes Valencia into the champions league on the last day of the season. He hasnt had one of his most memorable seasons but in the last few months hes been fantastic for Valencia behind the striker

Behind the striker? Kagawa/rooney position? Do not want anymore.

Wearing the number 10 and that blue strip with the shorter hair, he kinda looked like Maradona scoring that goal.

Individual highlights of the last game of the season vs. Sevilla, shows his performance around that great goal

I still think he could be a great option next to Carrick.

He has played as a CM in the Valencia team most of his time there, and has good tackling aswell as ball retention.

He obviously has the ability to score goals too, If Thiago does not work out I would like him to be our next best option.

I would absolutely love it if we signed him, he's a fantastic player and one of my favourites to watch. However given his disciplinary problems in the past, I'm not sure if he'd be good for any new manager let alone the one trying to replace Ferguson. He's definitely got the talent to be a United player, it's the mentality that's the issue.

Its true. Moyes is finally the thing to link Banega to United after all this time

Banega is a good central midfielder and it seems Valencia want to put him through the same process as Mata, playing behind the striker as an attacking midfielder. He's already shown improvement with his finishing and longshooting but theres still a lot of room to grow. As for his future, well despite his efforts Valencia missed out on the champions league and the money that comes with it. Maybe he'll finally leave this summer

Interestingly, in the past when clubs have been interested in Banega they've mostly been bundasliga clubs. Now with the league showing how strong it is this season, perhaps a team like Dortmund might want him. Obviously Munich wouldnt need him.

Got to admire Ekeke's persistence. :)

To my knowledge, there's never been a single story linking Banega with United, yet he's continued to fly the flag, year after lonely year.

He would be a brilliant fit at Dortmund actually.

Banega is a cracking player, but he tends to disappear from the games when most matter...

he plays 25-30 min at excellent level, and u dont see him again for the rest of the game. Vs Sevilla was a good example. For me, not worthy a bid.
